On one side I definitely agree with you, on the other I feel like "driving in the ocean" coming from a guy who named himself ocean, was just a way of saying he killed his old self to become the artist/singer "ocean". On the other side it might be a about his sexuality. Kinda reminds me of bohemian rhapsody, which is about a guy who kills someone and then "has to go". and was also about sexuality struggles. swim good is an amazing track is my conclusion. :)

He wants to live after the “suicide” attempt! He takes of his suit and shoes to swim free again of the past relationship... relieving the extra weight or baggage from the previous telationship
