I knew you had something with the Vazen 40mm ... took me forever to find it! simple searches weren't helping.., I just got one from ebay for $2k..,, very excited for it.. the weight.. and not having a PL mount S35 option was the only cons I really saw with it.. and it not coming with a threaded ring
Thanks for the video. One thing is incorrect though. You should not test the same aperture- x1.33 vs x1.8 ! It's the same as testing different sensor size and aperture full frame vs MFT, equivalent- 50mm FF f4 = 25mm MFT f2, x1.8 background is closer = longer focal length compared to x1.33. Look at x1.33 vs x1.8 comparison as sensor size and then adjust f number. When you're using longer focal length, of course you have more separation, after x1,8 desqueeze MFT sensor almost becomes FF, except light (iso) of course. Try to test it, by adding ~1 faster f stop number for sirui, separation should match, except different blur shape. Overall I like you work a lot, very professional. Thanks
I have a protype RF 28!! I think they’ll be released in a couple of months! I think the 65 is rather large too. That new 50mm looks perfect, but it’s like $8k too
Great video, whats funny is at 3:00 when you changed the Sirui to 1.25, more of the clothing on your arm was then in the shot verse all the prior shots. it seems the 1.25 setting has more shot inormation than the 1.33 even though the 1.33 stretch the shot out more. The 1.33 looks like it crops the footage based on your example? Even at 4:40 when you correct the squeeze to 1.25 for the Sirui, it pulled in another part of the white fence that wasn't present before. Very interesting!!!!!
@@cammackey So you're cropping the Sirui's 1.33x with the 2.39:1 aspect ratio? If you use the 2.4:1(in your words) we'd see the full 1.33 of the Sirui?
@@cammackey Yes I get it, but I own the Sirui 35mm and when you adjusted the sqeeze to 1.25, it had more information in the shot. I love your channel and you're really helping my skill level! I just want to get what I'm suppose to get from this lens, rock on man!!!!
@@PyxisCinema if you set your projects aspect ratio to cover the full 1.33x stretch.. when you take the stretch to 1.25x you’re not going to gain any more image. It’s simply just about project aspect ratios.
Compare it to atlas orion and vazen will not seem so huge to you. At least I'm willing to use Atlas everywhere for hand-held work with my red komodo simply because there's an Arri PL mount and there's no need to invent anything else to hold a lens reliable.
@@PyxisCinema Did you read my comment to comprehend it? I asked how did he attached the MFT. VAZEN LENS on his KOMODO ? I have a vast knowledge about gears, so I definitely aware that RED don’t make cameras with MFT mount
What I like about the Sirui 35 is no uncontrollable softness to the edges. Sharpness is great and you still get the wide format.
You always explain things in a simple way thanks

Thanks for the great anamorphic side by sides again, Cam! I want to do the 2x oval insert widest possible but I'm scared to open the thing
It’s honestly not that bad!!!! I was scared too, but now I’m like “what other lenses should I open up 🤔
@@cammackey any complications on your install? I saw Tito’s video and somebody was saying that one of the elements wasn’t removable any longer
Thanks for the video.

Vazen looks nice. I wonder if the 28 and 65 will ever have RF mount. Would be a nice set. 28, 40, 65

thanks for this! Whats that side handle you have on there? Looks sturdy!
Thanks for this video!
EXTREMELY helpful for editing work.
Lol like you I have fallen in love with anamorphic and find spherical boring now😂😂
Dude it’s like game over. Forever chasing that look now 😂😭
@@cammackey lol yeah the image just ends up looking so much more interesting, and also is closer to the human eye's FOV
for me, it's easily vazen. the minimal focus changing the stretch on the Sirui is a dealbreaker for me.
Same. The size is just a hassle for me. Dying to try try the 50mm
@@cammackeydoes the new 50mm have amber flaring?

Not exactly. That’s simply from the aspect ratio I chose. I had it set to 2.39:1, if I had set it to 2.4:1 it would show the full image at 1.33x

Yeah the 40mm feels a little heavy for the RF mount. I would def need to run rails on it
did it import from China ?
How did you got the Vazen lens MFT to fit the Komodo?
Komodo isn't MFT

Vazen makes RF version too
Vazen has an rf model as well
First comment. Cant wait to work with you bro @nykoiboi
