Women Sea Moss Farmers - Pioneers in transforming Dominica’s Sea Moss Industry

The FAO Sub-regional Office for the Caribbean’s Value Chain Development team, alongside the Commonwealth of Dominica’s Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, Blue and Green Economy are working to develop the country’s sea moss industry. Women are at the core of sea moss production in the country and are working with FAO and the Ministry throughout this development process. This story shines a light on some of these women in Dominica who are helping to drive the sector and their vision for a prosperous sea moss industry.
