Port St Lucie is already ruined, so if you want to live there, go for it. It will never be a skyscraper city, the city planning wasn’t made for as many people who live there now. There’s no direct beach access, and very little natural areas. Schools suck. Crime sucks. Highest property taxes in the state. Do your research. Florida born and raised and lived in PSL for 15 years, left 2 years ago. Martin county has more environmentally friendly rules and HOAs. We moved state. Don’t move to Florida for no state taxes and then complain about the lack of services. Y’all pushed me out of the state, stay there and make it what you want, don’t halfback and ruin my new home, too, please. I grieve every day for my beautiful land of flowers.

@@livinginjupiterflorida2049 I found a place I’ve learned to love, with the things that have always been the most important to me-abundant and varied wildlife. I wasn’t born a city girl, and the city holds no thrall for me. The strangest thing to me was the lack of reptiles and amphibians. Safe to garden, swim, walk around. My one dog we call the great lizard hunter, there’s no invasive lizards here (yet). Actually hardly any lizards at all and he’s used to catching redheads and iguanas. (I wouldn’t allow him to catch a Cuban tree frog or Bufo) so life is pretty boring to him now 😂 They do have some massive invasive leopard slugs, non poisonous, if he can get one, good. I keep what Florida and PSL was alive in my heart. Y’all younguns just have no idea how beautiful Florida was in the 60’s. It’s awful now in comparison but yall think it’s great and have no idea about the flora and fauna, nor do you care. Thank you for your kindness and compassion.

I have lived in port st lucie since 2011. The traffic is getting horrible and crime getting worse
