I am from Long Island and will be relocating to PSL. Currently I live which should be 15-20 minutes to the beach and 20 minutes to JFK international. In reality with traffic it's about 45 minutes to either location and could be longer. I have been taking the Long Island Railroad to get to JFK just to avoid traffic from rush hour, construction and accidents. I have been to downtown Delray and downtown Boca Raton. It's a disaster there. It's not any better for parking and sometimes it seems worse than NY. I'm almost grateful that PSL doesn't have a downtown spot. We will be living in Riverland with lots of activities. On a side note I never even made it to the beach on Long Island the past 2 summers. Then again summer is only 3 months long here.
@@peacelove7437 I agree that you definitely need to know places. But I think the point they were trying to make is that more south you go, more congested it gets... I have helped many Canadians buy throughout S Fl. It's just preference. Long term rental investment id a longer convo. Reacah out and let's chat! Thanks for watching and for commenting!
It’s a retirement city. My parents moved there from NYC and all 4 of us kids were all raised in PSL until adults and now all my siblings are back in NYC and haven’t looked back. I’m at 10 years now living nyc
I relocated from New York to South Florida /Port St Lucie 20 years ago and I've no idea where half the information and statistics come from in any of these video's you've made. I'm glad those couple of buyers decided not to move to Port St Lucie. more room for the rest of us who are happy here.smh
Very misleading video. I’m a local Realtor. It’s sad to see another Realtor that doesn’t seem to know much about this area, make a video like this. Also, I’m in Tradition and it takes me 20 mins to make it to Jensen Beach.
Thank you for your comment and for watching. I’m okay with your opinion, not everyone feels the same way you do. Different strokes for different folks :)
We go to Jensen Beach that beach is really nice and downtown Jensen Beach is very nice as well Jammin in Jensen on Thursday night also. Port St Lucie is a great place to live I called it my home for 31 years and I am from upstate New York there is a lot more things to do in West Palm but there is also a lot more traffic and crime I will stick to my little laid-back Port St Lucie and go to a New York Mets game and enjoy the wonderful restaurants.
Thanks for your comment! I love Jensen beach! It's a great little area. I'm glad your enjoying the lifestyle! Agreed, WPB is busier and getting more crowded. It's a trade off.
It's very hot in the summer, in the high 90's and humid! It feels much nicer right now, but in the sun it gets pretty hot. If your in the shade, it feels nice. Unfortunately, it's been warm during the day this December. Thanks for your comment!
It is like that not only in Port St Lucy but in the entire Florida! LOL But it isn't all the time, though. Depends on months, days, period of the day, etc...
Seriously 25 mins from Tradition coming from crosstown Parkway..4 definitely a lot of retirement people but I love living here and I go to the beach every weekend. A city currently upcoming and a lot of money and business to be made here🤫 thanks for the cons. 💯💯💪🏽💪🏽
My partner and I are considering Port St. Lucie, but we are concerned about whether the area is gay friendly (or more accurately, gay unfriendly). Frankly, we’ve never had a problem anywhere, but that is mainly in areas with a good amount of gay people. I would be interested in whether you have any experience with this topic. Thanks!
Thank you for watching, and commenting! I do not know specifically the answer to that question. I do know that there are so many diverse people moving into that area from different areas of the country and world. You should definitely come and spend some time there and check it out yourself. I hope this helps! Let me know if you need any help.
I am good friends with a gay couple that bought a home in PSL last year. They are absolutely loving it! All of their neighbors have been so warm and welcoming. They've made quite a bit of friends, and have no issues going anywhere. From their experience, I think you two will be fine!
Im still sold on PSL, unfortunately, the secret is out lol. Honestly, I would rather rent for 3/4 months and be a snowbird. I dont want the headaches of dealing with hurricane damage etc. Parents went frpm owners to renters in the Spanish Lakes. The only drawback is they have to use the "visitors pool" lol Still better than these New York winters. Thanks April for the videos, Im still binge watching LOL
Thank you! I appreciate that. I didn't want to come off negative, I just wanted to give all info and feedback I receive about different areas :). Stuart is a great small town city. It has a great little downtown area on the water. I'll have to do a video there soon!
@@liveinfloridavlog My pleasure. I’m enjoying your review style. Definitely looking forward to your take on Stuart. I know it’s hot down there. I’m just making suggestions. 🙏 😊 FYI: Keeping real as you do adds to your trust factor imo. 👍
Another thing is that you're basically paying to live in tradition almost $500 a month on HOA fees that's pretty high. Also property taxes is another maybe $500 a month before you have a mortgage. Port St Lucie was known as a retirement City and still is.
I don't care for downtown if that's was for those if someone want a place to leave it's not a big deal people tired of crowded places port Sainte Lucie is ok only the property tax are crazy
You seem to be really honest of the pro and cons. I am looking at moving to Florida later this year from NYC. (Retirement) not snowbird. Looking at PSL and Ft Lauderdale. Or someplace in-between. Confused right now.
You’d like some of the western communities in Palm Beach county like Royal Palm, Loxahatchee or Palm Beach Country Estates. Far enough away from the downtown areas, but close enough to shops, entertainment and other necessities.
@@liveinfloridavlog Nice. I own a condo near that area. Never thought I could ever own anything in Palm Beach County. I bought a condo for $110k 2 years ago. They are now going for $170 and up. I moved from Port St Lucie two years ago. I had lived there for nearly 25 years. The town was never meant to be as big as it is. Decent paying jobs are hard to come by unless you travel. Traffic is horrendous. The name itself is misleading, there's no port! I'm happy to be gone from there, and have no plans to even visit anytime soon.
We moved from PSL (I’m a FL native from Okeechobee). So many people are moving there, but there’s no new schools, groceries and the garbage isn’t being picked up. We left Florida all together. ETA: Weird to hear PSL being called south Florida, when it is geographically south central Florida. Everyone who has been pushed out of south Florida is moving there, so societally it is correct.
@@elsie412ok Actually, Treasure Island is included in South Florida. PSL is a northern part of South Florida. Even Fort Pierce is considered as South Florida, but I didn't find the reliable info about Fort Pierce yet.
Hmmm... would you rather call Port St lucie home or Riviera Beach. It has Beach in the name it must be better right? There is no bridge to the Beach in Okeechobee or Wellington not a big deal.
All the new developments in Port St Lucie have tons of restaurants and amenities! PBI is up and running and is very close. We don't need any more people to come to PSL. There is a lot of traffic and congestion and too much building going on.
Yes, PSL is one of the fastest growing cities in Fl. PBI is up and running but the flights aren’t as good as other airports in comparison with nonstops and pricing this year(2022). It will improve though and I can’t wait!
@@elsie412ok There are no any direct flights from PBI airport; so, it can never be the most affordable airport by default, lol. BUT the great thing in South Florida is the Train!!! from West palm Beach to Fort Lauderdale or Miami cities or their great airports, which are really affordable with direct flights anywhere, including many countries in Europe and other places in the world!!!
So some of your clients from New Jersey have decided NOT to move to Port Saint Lucie? What a shame, considering we just don't have enough New York/New Jersey residents here on the Treasure Coast!
I’d love to move to Port St Lucie to be closer to my in-laws whom I love so much and are about the only family other than my wife and kids that are still alive but We are too young to retire and we would take a huge pay cut. My wife is a Paraprofessional and makes about 28K that would translate to about 20K. I am a Surgical Technician and I work for the highest paid Hospital in NY and I’m at 100K give or take but in Florida(anywhere in Fl), I’d only make about 50K the most. My home here is paid off but our son doesn’t want to move to Florida so we would leave him the NY house. He is special needs but high functioning and can take care of himself but cannot ever get a job that makes enough to pay the taxes, bills, or upkeep of our NY home. We could rent half of our home but we don’t have enough money to renovate and my wife who is traumatized from our other sons death 6 yrs ago and is in therapy, blows thru our savings and gets us into debt for DYI and comfort impulse spending with no intention or sense of urgency to pay her bills. I often have to pull us out. If we move to Florida, we would stand to loose everything because she doesn’t seem to want to stop her unhealthy behavior. So for those reasons, we cannot move to Florida. For now.
I hope things get better for your family. I'm so sorry to hear about your son's death, and I hope you all heal enough to have peace soon. Also hope you figure out the best place to live❤🙏

I, personally, do not see asians in Florida at all. We moved from NJ, and it is very different in a sense of diversity here. While in NJ, I saw so, so many different ethnicities, cultures, etc, in FL - I see only three groups of people: white, black and latino. 🤷♀ Maybe it's because of job market. A lot of these cons were actually pros for me. Good information 👍🏼

Coming from Philly I have lived in PSL for about 4-5yrs now and so far so good!
Awesome for you! Thanks for the comment and for watching!
whats the job market like now 2 years later ?
Great Michael! Congrats to you! Thanks for the comment!
Hey Michael... where on Long Island are you moving from?
I live in Delray. Parking is the easiest here, the garage behind Cabana’s.
Parking there is better than Las Olas, Brickell, south beach, etc.
@@peacelove7437 I agree that you definitely need to know places. But I think the point they were trying to make is that more south you go, more congested it gets... Maybe for young people is a plus; for others is definitely a minus or, I'd say, for majority of people. Also, Treasure Island is known for good free and easy parking (at the beaches), which is almost doesn't exist in south... But of course, there are pluses and minuses everywhere. That's why is so difficult to decide where to look for houses. Ah...
What areas are the best for the least amount of flooding?
may i ask where did your canadian clients ended up buying? or where would you suggest for long term rental investment? thx
It’s definitely not for everyone! I love NYC! Thanks for watching and commenting!
I am wondering if you all are so happy in NYC and not looking back, why are you even watching this video?

What are the best areas to move to PSL?
I relocated from New York to South Florida /Port St Lucie 20 years ago and I've no idea where half the information and statistics come from in any of these video's you've made. I'm glad those couple of buyers decided not to move to Port St Lucie. more room for the rest of us who are happy here.smh
You point out some very important facts which I really appreciate. Great job!

Great info

Subscribed! Like your vibes and honest comments.
Thank you so much!!
If it's so hot in December, how hot is it in Port St. Lucy in the summer?
It's very hot in the summer, in the high 90's and humid! It feels much nicer right now, but in the sun it gets pretty hot. If your in the shade, it feels nice. Unfortunately, it's been warm during the day this December. Thanks for your comment!
It is like that not only in Port St Lucy but in the entire Florida! LOL But it isn't all the time, though. Depends on months, days, period of the day, etc...
Hey lived there for 15 years, often 100 with a feels like higher. You can look it up. I live in a four season state now and I’m always cold lol.
Seriously 25 mins from Tradition coming from crosstown Parkway..4 definitely a lot of retirement people but I love living here and I go to the beach every weekend. A city currently upcoming and a lot of money and business to be made here🤫 thanks for the cons. 💯💯💪🏽💪🏽
Thank you for watching and commenting! I appreciate the comments from a local resident!
I’ve been born and raised in port Saint Lucie and there’s no other place I’d rather live at.
Thanks for the comment and for watching!
Yea this place is boring, the taxes are high and it’s not worth it. The houses arent affordable anymore in 2023. It sucks.
Thanks for your comment
Moved to PSL in 2008 from NJ. The more folks from up north that don't want to move here is fine with me.
Thanks for the comment and for watching!
Riverland in PSL is the Best Area in PSL. No CDD here. That is what you need to tell your clients.
Thank you so much for watching and commenting! Please let me know if I can ever help you with anything!
Excellent review! I commend you on your transparency. Do you have a review of Stuart? Is Stuart in St.Lucie county? Thanks.
Aside from the typical real estate information I’d really like to see a “walk around town” section perhaps including a few resident interviews. I’m putting you to work lol! I know it’s hot down there. I’m just making suggestions. 🙏 😊
FYI: Keeping real as you do adds to your trust factor imo. 👍
@@onedirection3510 hahaha, I will do my best to deliver!
Stuart is Martin County, which is more developed and does more to protect Florida’s nature. It’s gorgeous, imo.

Is Port St. Lucie a good place to live if im retired?
Yes, there are several 55+ communities if that is what you're looking for. Let's jump on a call to discuss 61-810-3165
Question.....What county did that buyer buy in because of the high prop taxes?
It’s not that bad to get to the beach at all
Another thing is that you're basically paying to live in tradition almost $500 a month on HOA fees that's pretty high. Also property taxes is another maybe $500 a month before you have a mortgage. Port St Lucie was known as a retirement City and still is.
Thanks for the comment. There are tons of young families moving there, but there are several 55+ new construction developments as well.
I don't care for downtown if that's was for those if someone want a place to leave it's not a big deal people tired of crowded places port Sainte Lucie is ok only the property tax are crazy
Thank you for watching and commenting!
You seem to be really honest of the pro and cons. I am looking at moving to Florida later this year from NYC. (Retirement) not snowbird. Looking at PSL and Ft Lauderdale. Or someplace in-between. Confused right now.
Thanks for your comment! Please reach out when you're ready and I can help you relocate 😊🏠 aprilsellspb@gmail.com
You’d like some of the western communities in Palm Beach county like Royal Palm, Loxahatchee or Palm Beach Country Estates. Far enough away from the downtown areas, but close enough to shops, entertainment and other necessities.
@@foodiegal9923 I'm planning a video on Royal Palm Beach!
@@liveinfloridavlog Nice. I own a condo near that area. Never thought I could ever own anything in Palm Beach County. I bought a condo for $110k 2 years ago. They are now going for $170 and up. I’m down the street from Breakers West. It’s a nice area. Western Palm Beach County definitely needs to be highlighted more.
Do not recommend Ft Laudeedale if worried about crime
Who needs a “city”. More traffic more accidents. Travel to palm beach if you want restaurants and clubs.
Thanks for your comment and for watching!
Is the traffic really an issue there? I’m looking for a quiet and peaceful place in South Florida

@@elsie412ok Thank you for your comments and for watching
PBIA has been around forever and has always been the most affordable airport to fly out from. It’s also easy to navigate.
@@elsie412ok Very easy to navigate
@@elsie412ok There are no any direct flights from PBI airport; so, it can never be the most affordable airport by default, lol. BUT the great thing in South Florida is the Train!!! from West palm Beach to Fort Lauderdale or Miami cities or their great airports, which are really affordable with direct flights anywhere, including many countries in Europe and other places in the world!!!
@@dancerloverish tbf, I haven’t been on a plane since the ‘80’s 😂
So some of your clients from New Jersey have decided NOT to move to Port Saint Lucie? What a shame, considering we just don't have enough New York/New Jersey residents here on the Treasure Coast!

🤣🤣🤣
If you have T - Mobile as your mobile service carrier, your fckd!! caz the signal here sucks

If you live in PSL… this is very misleading
Port st lucie fed by Florida power and light.
There is a budget option that allows you to spread out the cost of your usage throughout the year, so you don’t have any surprises.
They also offer inspections to help you find ways to save money.
Also, the surge protection is 100% worth it.
Highest property taxes in the state. Bad traffic. So much noise... road noise, hot rods, and endless construction noise that just ruins life. Anyone who buys right now is going to be sitting on a huge loss in 3 years.

Looking to move to FL from Hawaii how is the asian population? I need to blend in 😂
I, personally, do not see asians in Florida at all. We moved from NJ, and it is very different in a sense of diversity here. While in NJ, I saw so, so many different ethnicities, cultures, etc, in FL - I see only three groups of people: white, black and latino. 🤷♀ Maybe it's because of job market. While Florida isn't famous for many jobs, the North, NorthEast and West of US are.
