Love how aggressive the f-35 demo is! Crazy how much power that one engine makes and even crazier that it's going to put out around 50,000 lbs of thrust with the upgrades in about 5 years!
This engine is the most powerfull single engine to ever be put in the fighter jet ;)
Interesting to see the amount of throw on the control surfaces... exemplified when seeing the flight characteristics. Vertical climb is staggering. Some pretty high G maneuvers within a great flight demo. Certainly well worth the trip :)
Yes I'm glad I made the trip! we don't get that close back home!! and after th flight they just walk over and hand out stickers 👌

@@donkoh5738 Block 3F ended up being the combat-coded version and over 800 F335s have been produced so far right about on schedule, Block 4 is now meant to field newer technologies like an upgraded radar, EO/DAS, engine, internal bay, display, among others classified capabilities and new weapons.
Really enjoyed the pre-flight routine closeups. I've never been that close before.
That engine, that climb rate. Humongous. Keep posting marvels like this. 🤘

Kudos to this fierce pilot as this is the best F-35 demo I’ve seen. She aggressively pushed the aircraft to its limits and its a beautiful display of our air dominance. She’s waving those horizontal stabs around like a boss and had that thing looking like a Raptor out there. Great videography as usual and to the viewers, give up bc it’s very difficult to capture this stuff on camera. Keep up the great work my guy 👏🏼💪🏼🔥💯🇺🇸🙏🏼

@@ElwynR saw it in person both days. Was surprised how loud the f35 was. Even compared to the f16. Not a lot of love for the f35, but the display was impressive. Great footage!
I was there for both days of this show. The display was fantastic one of the best i've ever seen. If you can out do an F-22 display,that says it all.
Out do the f22 display? When he did the tail slide? When he did a min rad turn over the runway… really? The f35 still looked lumbering, and difficult to maneuver in comp to the f22 & f16 displays

The ability of this thing to maintain AOA is pretty amazing. Even at lower speeds. All the nay sayers about this platform has really been silenced by how good is actually is. That tail slide bleeds off 50% of the airspeed, and it's still able to climb and maintain well over 50 degree AOA. Might not be another plane in the world that can do that to this level of efficiency.

It was nice to see the preflight routine! That ground crew had me worried till after the fist bump at the end 😅 when they finally snapped out of their parade ground mode. I gotta admire the discipline 😏

@@SwingLowLeft For those in Europe, they haven't seen a pedal turn since the Paris Airshow. Most of their shows since were low shows.

I've noticed that in almost all F-35 demo videos, as well as videos of these aircraft flying through death valley (star wars canyon) that they spend an awful lot of time with afterburners lit, more so as compared to other fighter aircraft of all generations. Makes me wonder if the F-35 is thrust deficient with AB lit. Then again I spent my entire career flying a thrust deficient aircraft (A-10). Anyone have any insight?
I'm no pilot but I'll take an educated guess. The F-35 can carry an enormous internal fuel load (18,500 lbs). With its tanks topped up the thrust to weight ratio falls below 1 (around 0.9). However, the motor is enormously powerful, so the thrust to weight ratio climbs above 1 after it's burnt the first 4,500lbs of fuel. You can see that performance increase in Elwyn's video here, and in his one from Sanicole too. That's my guess based on the numbers at least. I'm sure someone has a better answer 👍

Although Fat Amy demos have gotten better since they first started she's still far behind Gripens, Typhoons, Rafale and the Russian birds when it comes to agility. I hope it never has to do close in battle.
