This game really had balls. Killing off the love interest in such a manner is rare even in the movies.

I strongly believe Arno's speech at the end is the best ending monologue in the entire series, even better than Ezio's! My second favorite would be Bayek, both in origins and its first DLC, so I'm excited for when you get to that as well!

@@parsman9914 They're iconic, don't get me wrong. They just have a strong modern day element to them, for which I don't care THAT much. Sure desmond juno and the rest are cool and all, but I play the ezio games for his story, not theirs. Plus, Arno's speech gives a more atheistic view on the creed which I like, and find it brave for that time period.
Ezio’s speach in revelations was way better than other monologue in the franchise

I beat this game in a week which quick for me because I play multiple games but this was so good I only wanted to play this.
The story really was flat, I liked how you got assigned contracts from the bureau, kinda like in the first AC, but even if Elise was great the story got a lot more boring when you just started running after her.
Syndicate is low-key cool. You either love it or hate it so I'm looking forward to seeing which is it for you.
It's got some bad qualities, but also many good, like gameplay, side activities and the city which I think you'll love.
It's not really talked about much so because you probably never really heard anything major about it I'm looking forward to your opinion on it.
Anyway great video, love your content and can't wait for another one.
Going forward, every game besides origins is love-it-or-hate-it.

It's time for the Dead Kings DLC. The new weapon subclass is really fun and the whole DLC revolves around a lot of puzzle-solving this time.
Personally, I feel that the story fell flat. I was initially invested as an Assassin during Arno's initiation. Still, later down the line I just lost track of what's happening and why are we assassinating whoever we are assassinating. The killing of Bellec was the final part I properly even understood. I get what the devs were gunning for in this story, a tragic love story of 2 people divided into opposing factions and how vengeance never ends well but I just didn't like the execution of the storytelling.
As for Syndicate, well you'll see. The game engine is the same, with the same parkour (except for some minor changes like the removal of jumps from high places if they damage you, so more limiting of parkour). But for other parkour stuff added into the game, we have a new tool for parkour which for me personally is better than Unity, because well the game is set in London where most of the buildings are a lot taller than in France and the distance between them is way too much for us to be able to chain together strings of parkour jumps. For some reason, Ubisoft decided to rework the skills and combat systems too. It becomes a lot more grindy to get the gear and skills you want. I personally didn't enjoy the combat as much as in Unity because it was just a spam attack simulator instead of dodging, parrying, and then looking for an opportunity to attack. As far as the story is concerned, I would say (without any spoilers) that it is a lot better than in Unity, they do a decent job of hyping up the final boss (but be warned he is a HUGE yapper) and even the DLC (Jack The Ripper) is a good experience overall.

idk about syndicate that you'll like it or not cuz it fell flat for me in terms of gameplay and story but you'll definitely like origins even if you dont like RPG

I haven’t been inspired to play this game sadly. The story just wasn’t wrapping me in like the past games. Even Rogue had me putting in massive hours in a short time span.
I did spend a lot of time on this game just running around and playing with the physics and parkour, reading the history.. Finding cool stuff to explore and etc. but as soon as I had to sit down and do story missions I found it to be a drag lowkey.

Since you asked about it Blaze, I’m excited to see you play Syndicate.
It was my very first AC game, and the one that actually got me into the franchise.
I personally love it, and I liked that there’s a contrast in atmosphere between the main game and the Jack the Ripper DLC (the base story being a fun British adventure, and the DLC being dark and moody). There’s also some missions set in World War One as well.
I’d recommend that you play the base game, then Jack the Ripper, then the WWI missions, since that’s the chronological order of events (1868, 1888, and 1916).
The sword of eden does have some lighting effects but they are very random and honestly not that satisfying
nvm I was thinking of the eagle of Suger, yeah sword of Eden sucks tbh it's just bright

Yes and no. It is more refined in the sense of it actually working, but it is more restrictive than unity in what you can do with it.
That was weird that there was no music during arnos speech at the end... Kindve reduced the vibe of it
Yeah the story wasnt the best and they killed off the best character 😂 the game engine upgrades were and are great

Evie in syndicate is cool... Some of the antagonists are decent. The combat is decent if a bit simplified in variety of weapons archetypes
Respectfully, I’m glad you finally finished Unity. This is not towards you, you’re doing great, but the game is not good for commentary. I don’t know if it makes sense… Like the game is fun when you play it on your own, but when you have to do commentary, there’s just nothing to comment or talk about.
This and Odyssey(great game imo), I think will be something similar. Great games to play on your own, but when it gets to commentary, there will be nothing to talk about :(
