Hi! Thanks a lot for the insights you make in this video conference. I am wondering, once you have developed a methodology for accounting for C removals by standing biomass, which kind of entities should you approach so your methodology, whilst different from the existing ones on the field, can be supported or certified? Thanks!
Very nice. I have only one note, a tree saves the co2 however there is a point where the tree releases the Co2 if you not cut it. Instead of letting it die so it releases the Co2 and can’t be used for wood it should be processed on time. People will always need wood and they wil cut the healthy trees that we need so much for a lot of aspects
Hi! Getting carbon credits recognized by registries is a key step in developing a carbon removal company. So for this panel, we are going to explore how an entrepreneur got certification for her carbon removal credits, and also add a buyer's perspective on what they look for in certifications. Speakers include: Priya Bhullar, Co-Founder, Planboo Robert Ralph, Carbon Removal Partnerships Lead, Patch Varsha Ramesh, MBA Candidate, Harvard Business School (prev. Strategy at Indigo Ag) Roosa Raisanen, Carbon Crediting Manager, Puro Bring your inquiries and listening ears and we will have a thorough conversation on a crucial topic
These well meaning people are so naive. The idea that offsets can be commoditized and sold as a financial futures is shocking. The "externalization " of the problems is typical of economists. Only dollars count. Does that increase your sceptism? Players in a market that are not transparent. Seriously? Why does that tell you that the market is gamed? And i could not hear anywhere that carbon removal using any natural process, like growing crops or trees is explicitly excluded. Every growing thing in the biosphere , past, present and future, is already at 100% capacity maintaining the natural equilibrium of ~350 ppm. There is zero spare capacity to absorb industrial fossil fuel emissions. The idea that we can double dip and sell capacity that does not exist is simple fraud. Plant trees, save trees , grow crops by all means. It is a noble calling. But selling that sequestration capacity as modern " indugence " to emmitters is the same fraud as the Catholic Church did all those years ago.
so is it noble now or not? trees are in fact rather ineffective, if properly checked that should come up at some point during certification but we do for now live in a system where if oyu do something good you should get paid for it and if you do something bad you should pay for it, thats the way our systme currently works, thats how you get people to act
Great talk, he conveyed to me the emotion that there is a very large market for biochar. Thank you!
This is great thank you for sharing a lot of info for start ups.

The good news is that eventually all the sequestered carbon dioxide will make it back into the atmosphere.
