I think taking care of my skin has made be a better person. The consistency and thoughtfulness of a routine helps me to be more mindful and compassionate towards others
I envy those that didn't have (too) sensitive acne prone skin like me. You could try every products and not being afraid to breaking out easily. Most products that targeting acne are not friendly for sensitive skin, being too harsh on my skin. And products that formulated for sensitive skin are either didn't work well for my acne or didn't exist 😢 I hope you guys made another video regarding this matter.
Pyunkang Yul products don't work for you? Their acne line is so gentle to me that I didn't think it was working at first. And what does your dermatologist recommend? If you aren't seeing an MD, you're never going to treat your issues properly.
Haley Pfaff I hope you find the right products for you as every skin is unique. I suffer the same but I made habit changes, not just trying out skincare products. This might help: I change my pillowcase, bedsheet, blanket and towel every week. When in the shower, I wash my face last to avoid getting hair products on my face. I now use a pea size amount of toothpaste because I realize toothpaste in general irritated my skin around my mouth and chin. I switched to physical sunscreen because of irritation from chemical sunscreen. I stopped wearing make up to restore my skin barrier. I apply moisturizer while face is wet/damp to prevent transepidermal water loss and to seal the water. Balance diet.

How often do you change products? With all the recommendations, I'm curious how you know which product is giving you benefits vs another one you are using at the same time.
I recently found Erborian's Vitamin Featherweight Emulsion and I am in looove with it. It's just like you described the Black Rice cream. It literally disappears into the skin. It also has Yuja lemon as a highlight ingredient and it evens out my skin like you wouldn't believe. I just purchased a whole set of Pyunkang Yul Acne line after watching this video! Hope it helps to improve my skin! :) Update : The pyunkang yul acne cream (moisturizer) is really sticky and doesn’t settle in my skin like forever. And it is very stuffy too. I don’t like it. Btw, my skin type is oily+acne prone.
Once I thought hyaluronic acid is a holy grail, but its not, for my skin. I have combo tending to drier side skin. I had red, inflamed, bumpy skin when I was using the hyaluronic acid products. I stopped it, and my skin returns back to normal.
ok so. i have dehydrated skin. i only just started practicing skincare earlier this year. it's been a rollercoaster. i don't know what the heck i'm doing if i'm being honest. i'm sensitive, but i can handle vitamin c and enzymes in moderate amounts. i can't handle fragrance or anything super thick or rich. the thing is, i don't know what my actual skin type is. i'm dehydrated but my skin isn't loose or crepey. but i am flaky and i have an issue with my skin absorbing things. i can't find a happy medium. if i use only one hydrating treatment in my routine, my skin is parched. but sometimes when i use more the stuff just sits on my face. it works better for nighttime, when there's more time for it to absorb more deeply. i just don't even know what i should be using. on top of it all, i only use cruelty free beauty, and i live in Canada, where not all the stuff [like Krave] is easily available. help? i don't know if i should be treating the hydration, or treating my skin type [whatever that even is! - i know it's not oily and sometimes i think it's dry because it's dehydrated, but i don't really think that's it. i think it's probably more like combo, maybe even normal? underneath the dehydration. my breakouts tend to be product-related or hormonal.]
i used to have the EXACT same problem and using cerave productions ONLY for 6 months did wonders. The ceramides rebuilt my skin barrier and my skin is normal now! i highly recommend for dehydrated skin!!
From the myriad of skincare videos I’ve watched I’ve learned that keeping things simple and focusing on hydration, moisture, and protection from sun will help to even things out and reveal your true skin. Once it has what it needs to be stable, it could calm down or if the problem sticks around then you know it needs to be treated. I’ve used that milk vetch essence toner and it’s lovely and non-irritating. It takes a lot of experimenting and patience to find your ideal routine, and it will change over time too. Stick with it! EDIT: one more thing I’ve heard over and over again and finally decided to try was just rinsing my face with water in the morning, not using a face wash. Just that little bit of care has definitely helped my skin and it’s less irritated. I just splash and massage water until I feel like any oil or residue is gone. Apply a soothing toner or essence while damp and proceed. And when I do wash at night, I always start with an oil cleanser or balm and follow with a gentle CeraVe cleanser. Oil and balm are great because they thoroughly clean oil, makeup, and sunscreen, but they are so gentle and nourishing, regardless of skin type. Those are the things I’ve learned from lots and lots of videos 😹 and they work!
I know you guys didn't mention it in this video, but Fel talking about lavender oil reminded me... I got some sweet chef skincare items and i (sadly) didn't realize they literally put lavender oil in EVERY PRODUCT. ugh, I was so disappointed lol. I'm not entirely sure it's a trigger for my skin, but just the scent itself, especially after using fragrance-free products, it's sooo jarring. I've been trying SO hard to find a moisturizer that works for me! I'm combo, acne-prone, leaning more towards dry (or maybe dehydrated? lol). I can't seem to find anything that keeps me hydrated/moisturized throughout the day ;-;;' I've been wanting to try the peach and lily matcha pudding! I prefer water-bursting type moisturizers, but seems like my skin wants more oily moisturizers, haha.
Try to hydrate yourself from the inside so drink more water , eat healthy food and use moisturizers then see if the water-based moisturizer is more suitable for you or the oil-based moisturizers
Noor Al noted! I’ve been eating more healthily lately and have noticed somewhat of a difference! I work at a coffee shop so I do tend to drink A LOT of coffee, which I know def dehydrates the skin and can cause inflammation ☠️ trying to drink as much water as I do coffee, lol. But thanks for the tips, appreciate it :)

Love u guys! I have learned so much.. I wanted to ask what are ur thoughts on LED (LED mask) and at home steamers? Do you feel like it’s worth investing in at home skincare devices? Thank you
I have both Fresh’s Lotus Night and Day Cream, but I feel that the night one is so lovely and definitely lighter in a sense compared to the day cream. The day cream has a more gel-cream type consistency similar to the other day creams from fresh, which ain’t my absolute fav. Felicia, I would seriously suggest trying out the youth preserve night cream, it’s a serious game changer and I love love love it
I wish to know how you prep your skin before make up and products that are good under make up. As I there are serums that are thick which is not friendly with make up on and tends to ruin the make up after wearing for hours.
I love the channel, I have learned a lot... I think Ro is so kind, cute (love your hair style) and knowledge... actually like both, congratulations! 🥰🧴🌸🍃
A little help here! So I just got a bunch of products from the ordinary and I’ve been adding them to my routine, but my skin is coming out shiny, tacky, and sticky. Any tips? This is my routine: AM- • burt’s bees sensitive cleanser • gentle toner • “Buffet” • hyaluronic acid + B3 • niacinamide/zinc • ascorbyl glucoside • ole henrikson’s truth vitamin C serum • moisturizer with spf PM- • cleanser • glycolic acid toner • hyaluronic acid + B3 • niacinimide/zinc • vitamin A serum • retinol eye gel • rose hip seed oil • moisturizer
im not really an expert, but i think you are using way too many products at once. maybe try using one serum per day and alternating them daily, also rose hip oil should be use after the moisturizer
How about skincare for POC? When you have more melanin in skin, products are actually very harsh despite the thought that darker skin is more resilient. For example, acids. Strong AHAs like glycolic acid is too harsh and chemical burns can happen often. Although not everyone will get this reaction and sensitivity, the acne and hyperpigmentation approach in clearing it up isn’t the same as people who are on the fairer side of the spectrum.
They are both technically poc. Skin tone wise Rowena is very fair but Felicia is tan/brown toned. Felicia’s skincare is applicable for poc. Not disagreeing with what you’re saying - poc is a large spectrum of skin tones and skin care approach varies accordingly
what ever totally understand what you mean! I should’ve been more clear on what I mean by POC in terms of skin tone as Felicia and Rowena is very much so, POC. This is more directed to be about POC who have more melanin than them.
Well, skin tone doesn’t really determine sensitivity. I don’t know where the hell that misconception came from but it is not correlated like at all. I’m brown and I have very sensitive skin so I have to be super careful. As for hyperpigmentation, I’ve found niacinamide helps great. I’m on tretinoin and that’s been helping my scarring too
Love your videos - so informative and entertaining! I have dry skin too, so am definitely going to check out the products recommended by Rowena. Thank you! 😍
I have oily combo skin and I’ve tried both the fresh youth preserve dream cream as well as the super 7 complex. I actually prefer the dream cream and I think it works wonders as a night cream! Definitely made my skin more nourished and brighter the next day !
I am so sad that the Wonder Hyaluronic Anti-Wrinkle Serum doesn't work for me. I was so excited but then it broke me out :( Looking forward to trying the toner :)
꧁Biba 27꧂ I’d say stick with the clay ones bb, and do them at night bc they open up your face so you can moisturize and go to bed. They are skin clearing and easy to use and rinse.
Its amazing!! niacinamide is super non-irritating and its literally perfect for all the skin concerns you just mentioned and its amazing for oily skin as it helps regulate sebum production
Two other good things you might try is transexamic acid and/or azealic acid. TA is great for hyperpigmentation and AA is great for acne. All new products allow for a purging period.
Is it ok to use products that co.tain the same products. Like for example if my toner and my cream has hyaluronic acid, will I be getting too much of it?
There is no such thing as getting too much of it. Many people have their favorite ingredients that they like to have in every product that they use. For example, some people love Centella Asiática to calm redness so they buy a toner with that ingredient plus a serum with that ingredient or even a moisturizer with that same ingredient. Hyaluronic acid works to add hydration and moisturizes your skin and that ingredient is in almost every skincare product, so it is actually totally fine and good for your skin :)
@@BeautyWithin are they super light weight and non-sticky? I wanna use the haru haru toner - essence - serum - cream in one routine, I wonder if it's too much considering my skin is extremely oily :x
I am using the fig essence by I’m From too, and so far I do feel it hydrating my skin. BUT, I’ve noticed it has silicone in the ingredients. Does using silicone so early on in your routine prevent the ingredients of other products that you lay in top from being absorbed as effectively?
Can you do a video on products to remove blackheads on the nose? I’ve been using Paulas Choice BHA Exfoliating Toner but I still see black dots on top of my nose. Help!
it is not as effective as retinol. dr. dray has mentioned it is kind of a waste of time lol. the inkey list has a bakuchiol product and I've use the biossance phyto retinol bakuchiol serum which is good and is the one i'd reccommend

꧁Biba 27꧂ I’d say stick with the clay ones bb, and do them at night bc they open up your face so you can moisturize and go to bed. They are skin clearing and easy to use and rinse.
Interesting note, I read recently that Amore Pacific is the maker of Laneige products.
How's the ordinary niacinamide serum for 19 age? Is it reduce my acne spot, dark spot, pigmentation?
I'm 19.. I've oily sensitive acne prone skin
Its amazing!! niacinamide is super non-irritating and its literally perfect for all the skin concerns you just mentioned and its amazing for oily skin as it helps regulate sebum production
@@shadesuthida7225 is it safe for teenager & beginner?
Johora Suraiya it is safe! It could cause purging but it should disappear between a week or a month
Two other good things you might try is transexamic acid and/or azealic acid. TA is great for hyperpigmentation and AA is great for acne. All new products allow for a purging period.
Melle Mid which is good for tanned skin
Felicia, can you please do an updated skin care routine and how you cleared your acne? Your skin is beautiful! Rowena, your freckles are cute!

Please talk about Post Inflammatory Erythema (PIE) and how to cure it
Is it ok to use products that co.tain the same products.
Hi Gals, I hope you’d try the BELLAMONSTER Sensitive Care Solution Whipping Foam with sea weed ❤️
are the haru haru wonder essence and serum good for oily acne prone skin?
Yesss its great!! -fel
@@BeautyWithin are they super light weight and non-sticky? I wanna use the haru haru toner - essence - serum - cream in one routine, I wonder if it's too much considering my skin is extremely oily :x
@@Pika-ck7ww yes they are very light and not greasy. I would recommend the toner for oily combo skin over the serum
You should try Primera gel moisturizer! It's SO GOOD!!!
Make a review about tamanu oil for hyperpigmentation
I am using the fig essence by I’m From too, and so far I do feel it hydrating my skin. BUT, I’ve noticed it has silicone in the ingredients. Does using silicone so early on in your routine prevent the ingredients of other products that you lay in top from being absorbed as effectively?
dr. dray has some videos on silicone in skincare you can check out
What video are they referring to in the beginning? The one about the products they don’t like anymore.
Can you do a video on products to remove blackheads on the nose? I’ve been using Paulas Choice BHA Exfoliating Toner but I still see black dots on top of my nose. Help!
they might be secbacous filiment. Dr. dray has videos on blackheads and sebacous filiments
Hi girls, what do you think about bakuchiol ? They say its a retinol alternative. I was wondering which brand has a good product of this
it is not as effective as retinol. dr. dray has mentioned it is kind of a waste of time lol. the inkey list has a bakuchiol product and I've use the biossance phyto retinol bakuchiol serum which is good and is the one i'd reccommend
Hi! As always I love watching your videos... it brings lots of info that helps people like me who's been consistently struggling with products I should use. Thank you.
