This is better than other unranked to GM videos because rather than just showing a compilation of random pubstomp clip compilations and the rank milestone animations, he's actually telling a story. It's a much more interesting video in general for that reason alone.
Gotta respect the 'top players' that are willing to show aaaallllllll of the moments they fuck up, get tilted, or go completely off the rails... when they didn't have to show any of it.
This was a genuine masterpiece.

The thing that made this a good unranked to GM is that he struggled. He had to learn a hero and make it work. Most others just play their main role again and basically just smurf their way back to their rank.
You watch a 40min video and act like you were a part of a 3month endeavor lol people watch unranked to gm to learn about the hero like ml7. "Most others" bogur literally does the same thing. Just tht this time it ddnt go well
I think unranked to GM on hero’s that don’t do big damage like LW or mercy is actually interesting cause they’re usually actually educational, and not just “click heads lol”

That Plat experience section hits so true. I've really been having a hard time making it out of Plat because despite my effort as Doom, people refuse to keep trying at some point. I'm not blameless, obviously, I'm Plat for a reason, but damn dude .
Maybe reroll a new account. If I learned anything from that video it's if you're stuck in a rank, reroll new account and abuse the matchmaker hidden mmr system. Lol

Keep going at it, I ranked silver when I first started playing but early on I got hard stuck in gold for the longest time then moved on to play a lot of mystery heroes and got a lot of experience from it. Now I’m bouncing between gm 2 and gm1. Be comfortable on at least 3 heroes in each class and you should rank up.
The fact that he was finishing university while doing this makes him GOATED.

This is why elo hell is real tbh. It doesn't matter if you improved tons after playing for years. if you placed like gold- plat during the early years of you playing overwatch, even if you improved a ton later on, if your account was decided as a "plat account", it's really hard to let the system know that you've now improved and deserves a higher rank. Unless ofc you play a hero that has a ton of impact every game and your improvement is as great as being a GM player in a plat lobby. if your improvement is only like maybe high diamond or low masters, you'll have a hard time climbing to that rank without having a fresh account.

@@Dartnitt Nothing there implies "its not my fault" nor was this me coping on my rank. I know i deserve the rank i have. Doesn't make what i said any less true though. that's just how the overwatch mmr system works. I know i deserve the rank on my main account but my alt account is higher and placed there easily because the unstable mmr for a fresh account placed me higher with easy wins and i stayed there because the average overwatch experience for players at every rank is you win some you lose some. So people stay around the same rank that they stabilized on when the system decided that X is your rank. This is also from the POV of a non hardcore player. Someone who cant grind ranked all the time and only play it casually. If you play any hero with carry potential and sink a lot of time into ranked then you can climb to your real rank for sure. i completely agree.

Many LW today will hit GM sure, but bogur did it in LW worst possible state… that combined with the fact he’s not a support main alone tells me he’s the greatest LW

When Bogur said "masters 5, it's not diamond" after going 5 and 13, that was sooo much cope and I know this because I went 5 and 14 and said the exact same thing before I lost more games and de-ranked to diamond. 🤣🤣Overwatch do be like that sometimes
I haven't been a part of the OW community for all that long, only really started playing late '21 or early '22, but I don't need all that past community to know this is likely one of the best pieces of Overwatch content ever created. It at least was the best video game video I've ever seen
This is the best unranked to GM because it is an actual climb, he is genuinely learning the hero and climbing as his skill level and the power of the hero in general improves, there was also mystery around whether or not he would be able to complete it.
when i saw that he hit masters 3, said he was so close to gm5, and there was more than 25 minutes left in the video i knew something was HORRIBLY WRONG
I know ML7 is like an amazing support player anyways but imagine life weaver on launch, before all the buffs and quality of life changes they made....he made it to grandmasters with life weaver only. He was the truly the 1st
This kinda reminds me of one guys Unranked Genji to GM where he tried to get his Genji there. Teammates telling him to switch or leaving the game because he had Genji.
I honestly don't mind the Unranked "insert character" to GM vids. Some are made by very great teachers who actually explain what they learned. It basically depends on if the person is actually good at teaching and explanations. You could be an absolute genius in anything on planet earth but your knowledge would be worthless to everyone else cause you cannot put any of it into words. Some people are just way better at explaining things but definitely not everyone lmfao.
Honestly the video was extremely interesting to me cause I actually love playing Lifeweaver lol. I play him quite frequently. Though Bogurs video isn't as informative about the character itself as the guy I watch do other Unranked to GMs, Bogurs vid however does talk about ranking in general and that's something that is kinda nice to learn and understand. Less tips, techs and all around information on LW itself and more about the ranking journey.
I just love cloudy just screaming to teammates but bogur is pretty good too I love it

Im a silver player who plays with lifeweaver mainly and players are haters lol they refuse to use petal, i will be healing them and they will still run away and try to look for a health pack, so i just follow them and heal them before they get to health pack and they still go for health pack... pretty much bronze and silver players are a bit tarded, i know silver isnt good but im still one of the best pplayers every game i keep getting stupid teammates and people quit every other game now for some reason

I play at GM myself and when WifeLeaver dropped I tried to give him a chance as I was having Gr8 success in QP with him. I had not one, not two but SIX straight games where someone told me to switch or they would throw LITERALLY as the game of ranked started. Jokes on them because I ended dup going 5-6 and ranked up to a higher percentage of GM1 lol
I actually played a Gibraltar game with him when he was in diamond. Was pretty cool

I've been playing since 2016 and I feel I've gotten better... Started off on xbox because controllers felt more personal than mouse and keyboard. My rank started off in high silver in 2016 I didn't play comp a WHOLE lot but I managed to make it to Gold on all roles. Then overwatch 2 dropped and I placed bronze 5 in all roles for some reason... Im not the best player by any means, but I do feel that the way my team plays dictates how I play...I feel like I could match plat-diamond 2 players energy with comms and from there work my way up into mid masters. I don't currently see gm in my future but it's frustrating being stuck in a rank where people get triggered at everything and have no awareness, positioning, peel or synergy.

I recently hit gm3 with lifeweaver and all I can say is ppl are dogshit at him 95% of the time and pull is such a troll 99% of the time

I will admit I have a small % of prejudice against ball & doom players because I'm metal rank and I've had some rooough experiences with said characters, but I never assume every player is bad on their pick and I'd never throw even if my teammate is ass. I don't understand the mentality of "Oh our tank/dps/support isn't playing as a OWL player so I will throw this game and go next"
It just literally don't make sense to me. I might just go "Oh no we have a doom" for myself but I would never even tell them on VC to swap because they might just really enjoy that character and be really good at it. It's just the skillgap on said character that makes it a scary pick in my ranks because I'm an ass gold 1 player and usually people in same rank doesn't have the best idea how to play around a pick. But then again, I'm used to alot of people doubting my Widow pick in lobby even before the game starts (As in someone told me to switch off Widow before the round started ... On Havana)

The best thing about lifeweaver right now is he has a decent ult and he is hard to kill if he has his cooldowns. Honestly if you want a heal bot like this you should make his healing better or keep his healing the same and add damage to his kit so he doesn’t feel like you’re not doing enough on either end of his kit.
Hes good right now, but was complete dog water at first. Which makes Bogur grind that much more admirable
He already has damage, it’s just switching takes forever. Calling his ult decent is a disservice on how strong it is

Until they fundamentally shift his kit to have more carry potential he's always gonna be a shitty healbot support in a world where damage is everything.
I love his utility, though, I won't lie. The petal and pull are sweet tricks. He just needs something that allows him to make plays.

When he showed dafran felt the pain, but problem with lifeweaver is you have to carry the heals but that doesn't carry your teammates brains and even so if you are carrying too hard the other team start to hard focusing you making it worse, other teams swap to sombra just to annoy me, you really need nerves of adamantium because steel is not enough

I dont usually like Un ranked to gm but when its healers its much different since your mostly assisting and not carrying
I’m a big lifeweaver fan. And while yes he was absolute trash on release. I don’t think he’s a horrible support anymore. But I don’t think they can still make a few changes.
I would like to see
Thorn damage spread removed all together, increased projectile speed, and maybe a slight increase to damage. If they improve his damage potential. Then they can maybe lower heal blossom max charge to 70. And finally I’d alter his health pool some. Either keep 225 Hp but all health, remove the 50 shield Hp. Or if they keep 50 shield Hp, lower health back to 200 (150hp50shield)
I like LW, something I would like is maybe he’s dash cooldown lower to 4 seconds. Or increase his dash distance.

But I think his dash is fine on 5 seconds. Maybe give it a little distance. Shortening the cooldown. Just gives him even more healing and survivability tha he already has

I’m so ready for the new rank system. This system has me at gold which is reasonable in my opinion. I didn’t play OW1 and just hitting 120+ hrs of gameplay. But with that being stated I’m hard stuck gold but dominate almost 90% of the games I’m in. I honestly don’t know how far I can go but I deff feel I can say this. I will soon take over this games top ranks one day.
