The Rise and Shine Rooster is an interesting and challenging tutorial for intermediate to advanced felters. I did like the feather technique. It’s fiddly and I still think I need more practice. But I will definitely use it again. Watch all the way to the end to see a photo of the rooster with the two chicks I designed for my Baby Chick tutorial. They look amazing together!

Actually with the feathers I felted the wire on with felt then followed with wax to make more secure onto the feather instead of glue and used swax from Sarafina to wrap the wires with felt
That's very helpful! I haven't tried the technique again because my feathers were prone to cracking if they were accidentally bent. I could sort of fix it by applying heat with a blow dryer. They are beautiful but I worry they would be damaged if I tried to ship a bird with them. I'm still glad I tried it though.
