Love the red! I have my dad's 59 he bought in 1960 after it had been in an accident. He fixed it up and drove it for several years then parked it, now it is my turn to fix it up and put it back on the road. These are such cool vehicles because of the character, there is just so much to soak in when looking at all those curves and lines.
Wow what a nice job tell Marshall that they did a great job on updating everything looks so good riding around and parked . Ryan keep it up I love showing my 3 boys all the videos they are 4,4 and 6 they love watching the videos with me . I'm trying to keep the future generations loving the true classics . Great content never fails to be a great video 👍👍
Bought a 59 ragtop in the summer of '68. Fresh Roman red paint, 283 powerglide. She was a beauty. Had to borrow the money from my grandpa to pay the $300 asking price.(ya, 3hundred). If we only knew. Grown to love the '59 elky almost as much.
I had two of those back in the day. In the 60s you could find them anywhere for cheap to. I had a black on and a blue one both had 6 bangs with 3 on the three.
I’m old enough to remember these on the street and I thought they were the ugliest thing in the world. I loved the 59 “angry” Buicks. Now that I’ve grown older and wiser (ha!) I’ve loved these great cars for quite some time.
My favorite thing about the 59 El Camino is the flying buttress roof ! which Chevrolet kept on all the 4 door Corvairs till 1964, it went away on the full size Chevrolet after 1961.& of course the cats eye taillights .The 60 was cool because of the jet age, & the way Chevrolet incorporated into all the side panels of the full size Chevrolet & this would be a 1 year only styling! thanks for the video & again that's a beautiful 59 El Camino
Nice '59! I had a '68 SS396 for around 11 years; red with a black vinyl top. The El Camino is a great American car/truck. Always thought a '61 or '62 would have looked cool IF they had built them.
Great video, love 💘 the '59 El Camino!! As I mentioned my aunt and uncle had the El Camino and the Parkwood wagon in copper and white but I think they had the full wheel covers 🤔 not like the ones on this? Looks awesome though, thanks for sharing and as always "Howdy from Texas "!!
@@IowaClassicCars I remember the one on my dad's Parkwood when I was a kid. Kinda a neat thing, even the light still illuminates them too, as I remember.
Original clutch, 283, wiper motor etc.worked just fine on the 59’s. Go ahead and add the new gee gaws it’s your car but you’re not giving the designers or the car credit when you talk shit about original components.
Was the '59 (and '60) El Camino based off of the mid-level Bel Air, or the entry level Biscayne? I suspect the latter. Still, it has a few touches of Impala per mentions.
I can't for the life of me figure out why anybody wants a serpentine belt. There are three extra pulleys on that set up to go bad and then they do, you loose everything.
@@IowaClassicCars When you lose this one belt, you lose everything. When you lose a power steering belt on an old car you can still drive home. Plus, as I mentioned in my first comment, there are three extra pulleys that will fail and cause problems that old cars don't have. I don't see it as an advancement.
@@mexicanspec I picked up a SW '72 Cheyenne in AZ and drove it back to WA. It was a serpentine conversion on a factory A/C truck. Long story short, the A/C compressor froze and the belt broke. This was late on a Saturday and we had NO options. Ordinarily we could have simply cut the A/C belt but not with a one belt set up. You have to live it to understand it. What a nightmare, you are spot on correct.
A vehicle is only "Original" once.......this example is no longer original...........it's re-painted, for one. Has aftermarket steering, a replacement engine........
This 59 er wasn’t supposed to be beautiful in color, it was meant to be a workhorse. Now that it’s still around you could say that could have painted it a different color.
I love 59's I've had mine for 53 years. They are a beautiful car and wonderful to drive. Thanks for sharing yours it's very nice.
Thanks for sharing!
It's great to know that young guys like you are out there keeping this passion for old cars alive
We got to!
59 def the best year for the El Camino imo
59 and 78 are my favorite years. My first car was a 78 El Camino. 59 is on my bucket list. Gorgeous car and really neat upgrades!

That is a beautiful El Camino. I love how it is still a three on the tree.

That is a nice 59 i would like to have that always wanted one
Those are worth their Weight in gold. The Rancheros weren’t bad Ryan.

Very cool.i had a 74 with 400 auto.great vehicle.
My favorite car.
59s are hard to beat!
I don't know if I would have liked this as a 2 tone, but I definitely like it as a 1 tone.
I love the paint as is, agreed!

Yeah i agree a 61 or 62 would have been sweet!
I like the 67 best but would take any of them.😁
Thank you so much.
Thanks for watching!
My brothers owned a 60 Elcamio drag car national record holder back in the 70's.

I really enjoy your content
Thanks man
Love da heavy GMC
Thats a nice looking Chevy
You should do a video on his lincoln too! Doesn't have to be Chevy and Impala and 59!!!!! But I do love those too.
We are going to try to get it running, its a 1978 new yorker i believe
@@IowaClassicCars well now I am red in the face, usually I am spot on for make and model. Oh well. Would be nice to see either way.
I love it, nice.
Thanks!!
Nice!
Wicked!
Nice ride...I need a back glass ror for mine ...where did they get there's?
it was in the car when they got it, didnt need a new one!
Ryan, does the license plate hang down when the tail gate when it is down, like on the wagons? Enjoyed the ride.
Yes it does! Thats a wagon/elco only thing....thanks for watching Howard!

Well its 60 yr old technology that we replaced. It workes back then, but time for an upgrade

The belair
Sweet ride...not as cool as a 57 Ranchero but pretty nice😀
Haha come on man!
This and the 60 are more cooler 😎.
Needs chrome reverse steelies (american graffiti mags)
Shut up f9ol
Lost and lonely, portraits of my life I live unlikely you only dream what I give. The hurt. The pain. The loneliness that I gained
I die alone
Beautiful truck, '59 and ''60's are the real deal. The wheels need to go, IMHO.
It's not a truck, it's not a car! It's a personal sport utility vehicle. Most people make that mistake.

To me it is far from stock. It's more like a tribute to stock yet still modified. Original 283 is long gone among several other changes from original.
Anyone have a comment on why the El Camino wasn't produced in ' 61 , ' 62 and ' 63 ?
Wasnt a hot seller, so dropped after 2 yrs..they brought it back to try again in 64 and it took off
For sale?
I dont believe so
Can I double like this ?
You can definitely try!
Better then Ford ever could, lol...
Yup lol
