Very nice video! I’ve been living in Mauritius for 10 months now. When you said you were really impressed by certain things, i was shocked to hear DRIVING being one of them. This is something that challenges me on a daily basis. The roads are narrow, people drive like CRAZY and there are hardly any pavements so a lot of people walk on the side of the narrow roads. Not trying to spoil it but i think for anyone considering the beautiful Mauritius, they should be aware of these issues that seem to trouble most foreigners here
In percentage to population, MAURITIUS IS THE WORST COUNTRY IN THE WORLD IN THE AMOUNT OF ROAD ACCIDENTS! NO wonder a tiny island with 1.2 million has 200,000 vehicles! The rich Mauritians show off with their expensive cars - Porsche, Ferrari, Lamborghini! It's CRAZY for a country of 700 square miles to have such bolides flying all over the island!
Mauritius is severely underrated! Been on my radar for years and I'm working toward permanent residency. However ‼️ they don't allow dual citizenship for naturalized citizens, this is a pretty big con (if you want their passport)
Everything I have read in regards to Mauritian citizenship law requires renouncing all prior citizenships to gain Mauritius citizenship and it appears acquiring another citizenship after obtaining Mauritian citizenship would cause you to lose Mauritius citizenship. There also appears to be a potential for Mauritian citizens to lose citizenship by being absent from the country for too long.
