Enjoyed that one! A norms Burger is in my near future, it made my mouth water!..but Ricks..its always their taco's and a grilled bean and cheese burrito! Thank you so much for these fun videos every Thursday! Makes my day a little more entertaining than it already is! Lol 😊
I’m so hungry now, I remember Ricks having fresh buns as a kid gotta have the yellow chilies with Norma and rocks burgers though. And love the pastrami sandwiches a must have when I’m back in town. You should do a show on burrito tracks shredded beef tacos a must have as well. Whittier baby
I used to eat at Rick's pretty often when I worked Uptown in the 70's & 80's...sorry to hear that it has slipped a bit. My family really loves Norms for lots of things (love their Onion Rings), particularly their Breakfast Burritos. Keep up the great Whittier work, Bob!
Yes they have slipped a bit but hey 40 plus years of business isn’t easy and they are still doing a good job and the community loves them. They just need to brush up on things in house. Thank you for watching Rob I appreciate you man!
I lived in Uptown for a few years and ate at Rick's on several occasions. It was always spot on. I ate there towards the end of the lockdowns, and it was obvious to me that it changed. Norms still rocks.
Try the chorizo breakfast burrito ask for polish sausage inside of it from Tams on lambert and painter. Their pastrami sandwich is the best. You can make another sandwich from one.
This is great video I enjoyed it and appreciate your time in making it too! Bravo! It's good to know someone else's take on our beloved restaurants we go to. I am not going in any special order here just by my memory of what I just watched here in this video. Now I have had burgers both at Norms and at Rick's I like to order my burgers with grilled onions and that satisfies my taste with either restaurant, it's great! As for the Crinkle cut fries at Rick's being only one size, well I am happy with that because it prevents me from ordering more than I should enjoy with my burger. I can't afford to over eat. I never had their shakes before but my husband says the shakes taste good at Norms; it doesn't "Blow his mind" as you would say but they taste good; we haven't tried the shakes at Rick's yet but we will have to make a go of that sometime soon. We have had the pastrami at Norms, they are okay, and we would say the same for Rick's. They don't taste bad but they are okay. We do like the pastrami from Tam's though because it is a big amount of meat and the leftover pastrami meat is good the next day as breakfast meat! 😋 About the breakfast burritos, I love breakfast burritos but I haven't ordered them from these restaurants yet or any other one for that matter because my fear is that I will get a burrito that has too much potato than the other ingredients. (Past experience with food trucks at the workplace) I like even amounts of ingredients in my burritos, a balance of everything delicious all in one and not one ingredient should over power the rest. That's just me though. It looks and sounds like Norms did good in that one. Interesting take on the two restaurants. We do stop by either one depending on where we are in Whittier and we will continue to give them our business no matter what. Once again, this is a good challenge, thank you for taking the time do it and I'll see what the next video will be. Peace! ✌😋🎄
I was craving a Five Guys Cheeseburger tonight (August 2024), so this became dinner for me, my wife and two teenagers. With the burgers, two large fries (too much) and two shakes, I paid just over $100 with a modest tip! I remember when we could eat at Dakara Sushi for under $100! Times have certainly changed - for the worst as far as cost is concerned. THI$$ is why we definitely don't go out to dinner or lunch nearly as often as we used to...

I’ve never had breakfast there before but I’m a biscuits and gravy guy so I go to Arthur’s in La Habra. Living there during the cruising days was a BLAST!!!! Friday and Saturdays were the best for talking about cars and girls. Great memories. Thanks My Whittier. My third job as a youth was working at Skateland. I handed out rollerskates spray them all with disinfectant and then skated around the floor to make sure nobody was doing anything outside the rules. I’d stop people on the skating floor for chewing gum. I’d stop people who were skating too fast And the whole time I had a group of friends that used to come skating on a regular basis it was an awesome job we should talk
