Nutcracker suite always reminds me of my elementary music teacher. In-city school full of gangs and deliquents, she never gave up on us. Near Christmas, she always put on the Nutcracker Ballet for us to watch. She died of cancer one year before I graduated to middle school. Mrs. Gardner, thank you for making me join choir and helping me become a better person.
@TyTimeIsAwesome Very inspiring story! I'm sure your music teacher was proud of you, may she rest in peace❤️I attended elementary school in a similar environment. Many of the teachers were of Slavic and German heritage, and they absolutely baptized us in classical music, from kindergarten to 8th grade. The upper grades went to see the city orchestra perform The Nutcracker every Christmas, and concerts in general throughout the school year.
Absolutely, having had a stroke at 49 from a rare genetic condition on July 22, 2022, this not only brings me peace. This brings me back to childhood Christmas with my parents. Good times, what a joy to hear this again. Oh, the memories this brings. ❤

Every time I listen to Tchaikovsky I feel that my life has been enhanced and enriched beyond measure. His music has been my solace in my (sadly many) moments of despair.

He had a gift, a rare gift. His music comforts and calms me. I love the "story" that music tells. His music writes volumes! The Nutcracker helped me through the darkest time of my life. I fell asleep to it for a long time. It quiets my brain.
It does make me feel that way too. Even more, I feel the excitement, enchantment and beauty of it. I was privileged to be in a ballet company when in school, and take part in The Nutcracker more than once. It is very magical to be backstage, doing your make-up and getting ready in your costume, then come up and wait in the wings for your music and parts. Then the dancing is rewarding!! It becomes more natural as time goes on, but still takes lots of work!! My ballet teacher was Russian and a very good leader for us. We always had Michael Graham I think from the New York Harkness Ballet, come and dance with us. He used to sign our programs, “Keep dancing!” It was a fun time in my life, and I learned to value the discipline. That’s what makes it so rewarding. If you want to see the best Nutcracker in the U.S., come and see Ballet West in Salt Lake City. You will come out feeling different, very uplifted and happy!!

Tchaikovsky thinking that he failed this ballet brings me tears because I haven't heard anything better than this in my whole life. I guess all of the great artists in the literary, art, and music world have had the tendency to think they're a failure.

Chock full of holiday memories. As a kid, I detested my aunt and grandmother lording over the tele for the ballet. What I'd give to sit in that room with them again today. Strong pieces.
This is so nostalgic for me! Since when I was little my mom and I would always go to see the nutcracker during Christmas times! It makes me smile whenever I hear this music it reminds me of those times. :D
I was blessed to go to this ballet with my 3 kids one year about 30 years ago. I was a CNA at a hospital and my RN nurse friend bought us tickets!! It was AWESOME!! I'll always remember her and this ballet. Love the music 🎶❤❤
The first ballet I ever saw. I then went on to dance, still as a child, with the then Royal Ballet in Swan Lake (as baby cygnet) and the Sleeping Beauty (as a kitten). Wonderful to hear the music from the stage. I now work in construction supplying stone to the industry! What happened 😕 🤣🤣 Still ballet dancers have a very tough and strenuous life. Much respect 👍

All of these songs are bangers for the holidays. 🎁🎄
YES!
I’m actually getting ready to preform in the Nutcracker today and listening to this makes me even more excited lol
how did it go?
We wanna know
I’m not sure if I can @ both of you so I’ll just do a normal reply but that’s so sweet of you to ask! It went pretty well! Of course there were a few injuries sadly but everyone was ok in the end! The shows went great and I had an amazing time :D
@@grace11037 injuries? What happened?
@christian giardina
Sadly my friend rolled her ankle when she was doing spanish (also known as hot chocolate) and fell on pointe while doing a turn for Clara’s friends ( my roles were Clara’s friends and Marzipan), one of the older girls had a bruised toenail and she did due drop on pointe and Arabian which has no shoes, another one of the older girls had her ankle crack 5 times I think during snow and that’s a 7 min dance on pointe people were talking about it being broken but it wasn’t confirmed. Hopefully everyone has a good and quick recovery
This brings back so many childhood memories! I danced ballet in multiple renditions of The Nutcracker growing up.
I listen to it year round. It’s my favorite piece of music by my favorite composer. It’s Brilliant and this Version is perfection. I can tell when any other orchestra plays it.
Today i suddenly got a memory flashback of an afternoon like 13 years back. I was having fever that day and was watching the Tom and Jerry Nutcracker's Tale movie on the TV😊, i suddenly felt like listening to this song again. Is there anyway i can get my childhood golden days back again?? 🥺❤️
We listen to the entire album at least once a year, when we go watch 2 of our grandchildren perform at the local city ballet.
My favourite is the Waltz of the flowers. But the whole album is nice. 😊
Always fancied Waltz of the Snowflakes
And the magic begins...
My family had this exact cd with the same cover art when I was a kid, loved listening to this at Christmas time.
I did not appreciate this as a child. As an adult I cannot live without it at Christmas.
This brings back so many memories...
i know these musics from childhood just beacuse of classical barbie movies.. ♥.
"Barbie in a nutcracker" is a classical masterpiece movie which is based on this ballet composition..
Yes I love that film too!
Csodálatos és igazi karácsonyi hangulatot hozó mű. Imádom 🥰🎄
Somehow I know all the tunes and never realised they were part of one great masterpiece. Such memorable melodies, composition and instrument choices. Thank you for uploading and timestamps!
barbie gracias por inculcarme estas grandiosas melodías
I am in the nutcracker I love this classic it is the best dance it every year makes me smile
Chock full of holiday memories. As a kid, I detested my aunt and grandmother lording over the tele for the ballet. What I'd give to sit in that room with them again today. Strong pieces.
The act of putting it all together how does one mind craft it all
This is so nostalgic for me! Since when I was little my mom and I would always go to see the nutcracker during Christmas times! It makes me smile whenever I hear this music it reminds me of those times. :D
7:57 is one of my favorite parts too
Fantastic music, I love it.
Agree with you. ^^

Thumbs up to all who listen to this year around!
It’s always Nutcracker season! Although Tchaikovsky himself may not have been the biggest fan, I most certainly am!❤️
Best music ever
I love Nutcracker ballet music. I’ll listen to it all year round.
Am I the only one who will listen to this in the middle of summer??
No.
October 11th for me❤
It's not Christmas if there is no Nutcracker!!
I was blessed to go to this ballet with my 3 kids one year about 30 years ago. I was a CNA at a hospital and my RN nurse friend bought us tickets!! It was AWESOME!! I'll always remember her and this ballet. Love the music 🎶❤❤
Bravo~ I'm listening at Christmas day
The first ballet I ever saw.
I loved this from Tom and jerry. I was 4 or 5 yo when I used to watch that movie nutcrackers tale. Nostalgic music I love it I love it I love it so much over and over again

I have this on a cassette and listen to it every Christmas. But now I listen to it all the time!
I finally found this I've been looking for this for years since I was a kid I've been looking for this since I was like four and I'm like way above that
Childhood memories. My grandmother owned a version of this album, that included excellent narration of the Nutcracker tale.
I absolutely loved listening to it, felt like a dream.
26:37 my favourite bit

It's Christmas today! Im most excited about listening to this again, for the ten millionth time
This is why Tchaikovsky is an amazing man
*casually compliments self*
Trust me! this never gets old when the Christmas coming!!
how can this brilliant composer be erased from classical music from history and consigned to oblivion? Only a madman can do this!
He also wrote swan lake
