Those beamng devs surely must be feeling fortunate having this enthusiastic community! I too wonder if they watch videos and take note of the feedback from people...
So anyway, your video got linked by nadeox in our internal dev chat \o/ The video has definitely brightened this sunday night for me; positive feedback is always a welcome boost in morale, and it pushes us to continue trying our best. So from one of those remote devs (saludos from spain), and on behalf of the whole dev team, thanks everyone, even you weirdos who hate the wydra, for your constant amazing support!

Yeah in the end, some amount of piracy is going to happen no matter what. We prefer to attack that through effort and results, rather than using antipiracy systems. Those are often useless anyway, or straight problematic for legit players.

I think the only thing Beam really lacks for being a perfect All-in-one simulation happens to be dynamic weather. Even iRacing of all Sims got it this year. We know it's a dog to get done, but I strongly think it should be along the lines to get done; even if it's very late. iRacing took almost 15 years to finally implement, after 2 or 3 years of development. (and they got it pretty close).
I also know that there is A LOT more for the Beam dev team to consider for dynamic weather, especially given that Beam overall has far more terrain types than iRacing has.
Okay and this is just me wishful thinking: Beam NG's node system for crash physics to iRacing, when? 😁😁

It's because they make BeamNG out of passion, not greed. They could've easily made big maps that were later added like Italy a paid DLC and in today's gaming economy that would seem quite logical. They however, seem like people who find money as a cool litte bonus from making the game. BeamNG is really like an old school game in the way that you buy the game and that's it. You literally get the whole game. And that's why we love the devs so much, because at this point everything they add in the game feels like a gift from them to us. Just look at the game's price. It costs less than most half-assed projects in Unity that constantly pop up on Steam.

This approach to community feedback and taking good suggestions is so nice. It's one of the best things that I think can happen between a studio and the community that plays its games. I think it also speaks to the quality of the community when they can come up with really good ideas and make real, substantive critiques and not just dogpile that the game sucks or whatever.
As for myself, I don't really interact with the community much as I mostly keep to myself and play beam once every few updates. What I can say though is that every time I come back to the game I find so much new and interesting stuff. Often in places I would normally not be excited about. Like the offroad van, I don't do offroading ever, but I spend a few hours driving that thing around the desert trails having a great time.
The only thing that I think this game needs is for the dev team to keep going as they have been so far. Clearly this is a very good way to keep the game fresh and to keep the community enthusiastic engaged. There aren't many games with as good a community, or as good a Dev team as Beam has, it's kinda the opposite of EA or Ubisoft. In a great way of course!
PS to the devs: I think beam has the best motion blur implementation in any modern game, it's actually fantastic. Only game where I leave it turned on.

I don't think I would be the same since not only is BeamNG fun but also taught me so much (and when I get a wheel, will teach me much more) about cars and how they work.
First watching yt videos about it both the trailers and Ybr videos. I was instantly into it. Now the game has progressed so far with the determination and sheer will of the devs and the community. It's why BeamNG is getting so much more fame now, because of the community's involvement, while I am kind of sad that usually people know this as a car crashing game, I'm happy that the game is getting the fame it deserves. I remember watching that first CryEngine demo video, then downloading the first playable demo, and then Steam greenlight release, which I bought immediately. I remember you couldn't even stall in the earlier releases, engine sound was awful, the clutch was indestructible, but physics were awesome since day one. I played every update since, and I'm still hyped when new content released because I know it will get even more lifelike. The fact they added VR last year is awesome, thank you BeamNG developers!

The BeamNG devs are the best but lets not forget the community, it holds and is held by amazing content creators, modders, and even organizations that help the game grow and become accessible to a wider audience, there are stories like WhyBeAre which i grew up watching and the big creators like MuYe and Nielogical and others including the smaller creators like SkyFall, BeamDriver, TalksWithNoise, Bio, etc. The devs are great and they have a great community behind them! Great vid! :D

I have over 2000 hours in BeamNG and played the heck out of RoR when I was a kid, my PC could barely run it but that didnt stop me. I've loved every minute of it, I don't think there is a better Dev team out there.

    • @LooperEpic
      @LooperEpic 20 дней назад

I played a ton of the BeamNG demo, an older version from probably 2014 where you could only drive the D-series. My computer could barely run it since I didn’t really have a GPU, so I had to take parts off the truck to get better performance. I probably played at 10-20 fps the whole time, but it was worth it for the physics.
I’m so glad I actually bought the game years later, because the devs are the greatest. The game itself is revolutionary as well.

2 ideas for a future update.
Vibration on controllers (or wheel) for tire sliding.
Noise for tire scrub or low levels of sliding. Some tire squeal early on but others don't make noise until you've already lost adhesion.

You didnt mention (or i missed it). but you can play Automation Car Company game and create your engine and the whole car with interiors and everything and directly from the game export it to Beamng drive where you can test it and drive it. It will have the engine sounds included and based on the specs. Only thing thats different is that it will have bit more simpler soft body physics and such. Its one of the greatest thing from two companies to combine their niche games to work together and i believe it has added a lot to both games sales

First at all. Thank you skyfall for this great video, also thank you to all of beamng devs. This game is mind blowing. They are making the best car game I ever played. I cleary see the intentions of the devs to give their best in every update, something not common in the game industry nowdays.
As a person with clinical depression, this game helps me a lot dealing with that. It's so fun to swap parts and doing experiments in the game that I can't describe. Also I learned a lot about cars.
If I can wish something for a future update it will be glow plugs for diesel engines and a newer dashboard for the covete.

Physics aside, the fact that you can customize a vehicle with in the game is awesome by itself. i plan to take full advantage of this when i make a vehicle.. and im also pretty excited to use the game as a test bench for some original vehicle designs i've had since the mid 2000s aswell..

remember that the devs have passions, just as much as the community wants something, the devs want to make things they like too. if they are passionate about offroading, don't get upset and think they've abandoned onroad driving, let them have fun, you can always suggest anything you want, but development takes much longer than ideating.

Thanks for the vid, I liked it a lot.
Minor notes/complaints, the sound of your voice is not loud enough and the devs talking is even worse. Just for you to have some content if you want, normally I listen YT vids with the volume level at about 12-16 (on my TV), in this video I have to immediately turn up to 20 to be able to understand and listen your voice (I'm not a native English speaker) and when the devs are talking to each other I have to crank it to level 30!
Other than that great vid like I said in the beginning of this comment.
