It certainly looks like the rear side windows are part of the door that raises to the roof. With only the side door open, you would have to crawl out of the back seat.
As a Tesla Model X owner, I really do not wish my car could do this. In fact it defeats the purpose of our falcon wing doors, and I prefer the look of my doors more than this. I'm sure it's a great car, but the doors don't make too much sense to me icl
if you don't have room to open back doors you don't have room for the front ones anyway.. flacon doors are supposed to be easier to get in, this does the trick without need for a super expensive and heavy articulated door so better design IMO

These Shorts are getting worse if that's possible. Why would Tesla want to remove a space efficient gull wing door mechanism that protects the back seats from rain and gives the passengers more room to exit and replace it with a conventional hinged door that also tilts the roof open to the elements?

It also cancelled all the physical buttons in the car, controlled the steering wheel, and integrated the entire car machine and auxiliary operation functions on the vehicle intelligent computer. I think that defeats the point of the model X door, it’s designed to open in tight spaces this is a normal door with a lid. Van door is what the X was trying to avoid due due to the stigma around them
well no. the whole point was that you can stand under.. and you can open the doors in tighter parking spots.. so no tesla doesnt wish it could do that.
Lol. No benefit! You still need the space to swing the door open. What’s the point??
Looks cool
There's no need for a benefit, it just looks cool lol have you not seen other cars?
Also.. it’s expensive to manufacture. Unless you have some magic sauce, the company will fail - no Matter how cool it looks.

It’s all fun and games until you’re in a low garage or it’s raining/snowing outside…
On a Model X the doors at least give you a sort of roof for snow/rain where as this is just terrible.
Have you ever heard of rain? The whole interior is exposed.
What car is this?
People crying about rain like the owner gonna sit in the car with the doors open under rain
Whenever you open the door in the rain the car interior is going to be drenched.
But the side doors also open independantly dummy. What you think they've never seen rain in China? 😂

Yeah i prefer the tesla one
That's cool, but what's cool about the Tesla is you can still open the door in a really tight spot.

This doesn't make third row any more accessible, so it is pretty pointless to go through the extra complication.

In a tight space this car wishes It had the butterfly tesla doors , this interior looks alot better
No I don’t. I like the falcon wing doors for cargo where the door would normally get in the way
The point is that this is purely for show, flex this in a hotel driveway and youll get instant social media mileage.
wow... it needs only 3 parking space to do it
