Brodie, I'm looking at the Apollo as a centerpiece for my podcasting studio. At exactly 3:26 and 3:50, I hear what sounds like an ever-so-brief phase sweep on your voice. What is causing that, and is it intentional? To a degree I can hear it across the entire recording and don't particularly like it. I'd hate to buy an Apollo and learn that it was an artifact of the device (i.e. the Unison preamp, the DSP, a latency effect, etc). Would love to hear your thoughts! Thank you!
Great video brother. could you perhaps share this console setting with us? as in, saving the console setup and just allowing us to download this? would this be ok?
Thank you Brodie! I've had UA equipment for quite some time now and have been looking for a voiceover channel strip setting. This works great! (although I'm using a Shure SM7B). I like how this sounds, I have an ART Pro MPA II coming tomorrow, it will be interesting to see if it improves the overall sound.
@@brodiebrazil I use cloudlifter - which isn't great but it's usable. I was having weird radio signal pickup when I installed it in my office upstairs ?? now that i've moved downstairs, it is no longer a problem. I'd be interested to hear what settings you have for the SM7B.
Do you think I can get away with the solo specifically only for talking head videos with professional EQ Or should I get the twin USB please respond any and all help much appreciated
Just make sure you're not running Windows and not doing any live straming because you're gonna be screwed. The WDM driver support is broken and you will get crackling on your input for any app that uses the drivers. This makes me really sad :(
@@brodiebrazil I have just ordered one of these for this very reason to leverage on board processing but giving better control than say a dbx286x. Be interesting to see what updated settings you recommend.
Thank you sir!! I was having a tough time with using the expander on here and now, I can record my spots with confidence!!

The best usecase I've ever seen. Thank you very much! I just bought a duo. This hybrid unification of hardware and software is great.
thanks! and i know you'll love the apollo much as i do.
Thank you for this! Are there equivalents in the plug ins that come with the arrow before I start buying these plugs ins?
not sure what comes with the arrow, but these are all available in the UAD ecosystem
Nice! I like how you have three compressors on your voice and yet your voice doesn't sound over processed.
Actually four! You have the 286 back there doing some work.
Thanks for listening- I have a couple updates since this one from 2 years ago, I think they sound even better

Thanks Conor! I have a different chain for my sm7b... the UAD is the only thing that really makes that mic shine to me. Do you use a fethead?

What's that mixer I'm seeing ?
And the rack to your left, what did you have on there ?
Thanks
that's a soundcraft MTK12 mixer. also in the racks... (2) DBX286s and (1) DBX266xs in addition to headphone amp and dB display
How many chips were in the unit on the video? Was it a Twin X Duo or Quad?

I FEEL LIKE SOMEBODY IS ABOUT TO WRESTLE OR CATCH A FISH LETS GETEM!

Is your Apollo twin - duo or solo?

sorry to hear that. hopefully fixed by now. I'm a Mac guy.
@@brodiebrazil Not fixed for me.
You don't 'need' to use the WDM driver for streaming. Just use obs-asio plugin for example.
@Vlady Veselinov I use ASIO LINK PRO to fix that issue, slight hassle but it fixes the issue.
It sounds really harsh and needs dessing badly.
yeah, I've made quite a few adjustments since this video was made. new updates coming out soon.
