I'm just super mesmerized with your channel. Please for a beginner, what hook would you recommend, I'm kind of lost on the whole tambour or luneville hook, I don't know which to get And what needle sizes are recommendable

Hi, yes it can be confusing, but normally hooks name comes from the embroidery name and they all do chain stitch. The difference is what you want to do with that chain stitch, for example in aari they have long thin hooks, crochet like, because you take the beads on the hook, (they have more types, but i won't go into details.) You can find two types of tambour hooks, with long needle and short needle. Short needle is quite often used in luneville technique, because the beads a strung on the thread before they are stitched and the length of the needle is fixed and iitdoesn't really matter. The one with the long needle, the length can be adjusted so it can be used comfortably for both techniques like luneville and beading from the top(aari), you can make it short and work luneville or make it longer and pick up beads on it. As of matter of needle size, i started with the smallest one, it goes easier through the fabric and it's less friction there. Normally the hook comes with 3 size needles and you can try them all to see how they feel. Each needle is for different size thread.

Personally i bought a simple hook with long needles, it was my second tambour hook and its my favorite by this day. My first hook was a crochet hook size 14, because tambour hooks weren't available in my area at that moment and i just improvised 😅. I hope it helps!
