My work explores texture and effect, giving each piece its own distinct story and character.

I’m working on the petals for the Chinese Lantern. Each petal is beaded using a tambour hook and will later be cut out and assembled to create the flower.

I really enjoy seeing your creative process. To see what you like with something and working with it, and then taking it away and trying something different. The back and forth of creating something is truly beautiful. I liked hearing your train on thoughts throughout the video. And I would watch an hour long video of this 😅

What is this tool please and what is happening underneath the fabric? Thank you
@@samantha4130 the tool is Tambour hook or Luneville hook. When stitching with this hook it make chain stitches at the front and back stitch at the back. In the end you get a very neat design transfer.

@@samantha4130 thank you, i didn't use stabiliser, the embroidery is done on silk organza, it doesn't crumble when cut and fixed the back with a bit of fabric glue where it was needed.

I forgot to ask.What abt the fabric u use for the backing? It looks a bit like the back of velvet
@@Emma-fd6cd if I remember well it was felt, but I don't use it anymore to cover the back, aesthetically its better to use leather or artificial leather or other heavy fabric. It all depends on the project you have.
@@Emma-fd6cdis was among the first brooches I made and I was still discovering what works and what doesn't.

You can try going to udemy.com first and from there search for introduction to tambour embroidery. It may be glitch of some sort or the browser.
Your videos are so relaxing, beautiful and Inspiring. I'm an Illustrator, Muralist and woodworker but my great-grandmother did embroidery. I plan on giving it a try. I think I'd love it. I'm so glad I found your channel.
