Well done Karl. What a great place. I visited there with my dad back in 2003 when it was just a cafe. So good to see what they've done to the place, superb. I found the trench in the back by accident in 2003. This was part of the 'K' or Pozieres trench that ran across the road, passed the 1st Aust Div memorial and up the slope to Mucky Farm. Good to see the soldier still outside the front door. He was a Private in 2003, glad he finally got his first stripe up - got to be for long service! This battle was the first major action for my great-grandad who was with 1/3rd South Midland Field Ambulance TF.
There was a lot of action around there, I had to pay to get into the trenches, bet it was free when you went. Sometimes there is 2 soldiers at the door and I've even seen pictures when there's been a artillery gun out the front, that would have been cool to see. 😊

It's a great place to visit. Here you can get food while looking around at ww1 stuff, you can't beat it.
