Gail, I think it would be great if you showed a finished? project using your wonderful techniques. Sometimes I think, okay, how and where do I use this?
I can imagine chaintucks being used to accentuate sleeve cuffs, pockets or framing zipper pieces on garments. a good idea to stash away for when creativity strikes.
@ All great ideas Uhhlaina. The chaintucks are a lovely accent embellishment on garments, or all types of projects. And you’re right-good to keep them in mind for upcoming projects. Thanks for watching!
Hi Susan, Here's a link for the locking fork: www.gailpatrice.com/product-page/cover-chainstitch-locking-fork. Im am stitching on the BERNINA L890 combo serger. You can do chainstitching on your Evolution too. Thanks!
this is exactly what I need Gail. I have an ovation. Could you show the threading of the colourful threads? I have an Ovation and hoping I will bypass the something to thread it. It’s overlock pearl thread Metallic. Also if it is on a Bias edge on neckline, do I gave to use tear away plastic or something?
Hi Viddy, I don't have an Ovation to show you the threading. When you open your front doors on the Ovation, you'll see the silver metal brackets that are labeled U, L & C.You'll still need to use a thread cradle through the chain looper threading port to pull the thread through the eye of the looper. Here's a link to my video on a thread cradle: ruclips.net/video/iRAW80rgSeI/видео.html. I can't answer your neckline question, other than to tell you you may have to increase your differential feed when stitching around a curve. Thanks for watching!
Hi Sandra, I checked the Enlighten's specifications and it doesn't have cover/chainstitch capability. It is a very nice 4-thread overlock machine. The chaintucks are done with a chainstitch. But you can do the rolled hem pintucks or the flat narrow overlock pintucks on the Enlighten. Test your stitch length on scrap fabric to get the look you want. Hope that helps and thanks for watching! (let me know if you have questions.)
@@sandrasepulveda727 You're welcome, Sandra Please let me know if you need help with anything. I have a Triumph too and am very familiar with Babylock sergers.
