Keep in mind that a lot of those "brawlers or street fighters" in the video is a bit of misnomer. - a lot of them trained and sparred before stepping into the cage or ring. It's just they're called "street fighters" since banally that's what they do (particularly in Caucasus where living combat sports is mandatory part of life) because they choose to fight on the streets and not in sports events. Basically street fighter is in different context since it doesn't mean some average meat head with no training thrown there, but someone who fought for majority outside of events.

Street fighters with experience are very effective with a lunging right overhand. Their reflexes are impressive. Some street fighters are heavy-handed, meaning they're born with the ability to throw punches. But their biggest problem is breathing. They gassed out pretty quickly.

    • @akerumiyamoto
      @akerumiyamoto 10 месяцев назад

To be fair the the original definition of street fighter is not saggy pants, yelling the N word and acting like a thug.
Back in the day street fighters where actually trained martial artist that came from different dojos, gyms and schools and that would organize a fight and meet in the street to fight.
Back then gang members, vise lords, criminal organizations actually knew how to fight some knew how to box, wrestle, some knew kickboxing, karate, taekwondo, kung fu, and some even became golden glove boxer's which I have some in my family.
These new cats that run the street that claim to be street fighters all because they get into a altercation here and there don't know a damn thing about actual street fighting, street fights used to be nonthing but ring fights between two skilled martial artist but just happening on the street.

Most “street fighters” don’t focus on their conditioning nearly as much as fighters who train regularly in a structured environment. That’s just my experience, but I remember one of my first wrestling coaches telling us that “Matches between two equally skilled and experienced opponents often come down to who has more endurance…” or something along those lines (it was 35 years ago). Ali demonstrated it against Foreman and countless others did it before and after that. Anyway, I say all that to arrive at my point: The biggest difference between trained and untrained fighters is their conditioning. You can be the heaviest puncher in the world, but if you only launch 3 good shots before you’re gasping for air and moving like you’re underwater, you’re not going to get very far. Street fights don’t often last more than a minute, maybe two. Condition doesn’t have the same impact under those circumstances, however, when a trained fighter is facing an untrained one, they should (depending on their level of training, experience, mental acuity, etc.) immediately recognize the advantage they possess and work to leverage it. If you know you can use mobility to grind your adversary down, do it, then wait for your opening, land and get out. Repeat. I will say some of these “street fighters” clearly have some training or at least a good amount of experience because they don’t appear to be typical brawlers.

Jerry obviously never fought in a ring judging to his reaction on the mouth guard..
In order to gain some resting time there are a lot of things that can be done like spitting your mouth guard so the ref stops the fight allowing you to breathe and break the opponent's momentum. Another way of buying some time from your corner is your staff throwing water on your face after each round in order to "refresh" you but in reality they do it to delay the start of the next round because the floor is wet and the cleaner must step in to clean it.

This type of video is interesting but kind of whack because the comparison clearly fails. A lot of the "street fighters" obviously have some actual fight training. White gloves actually knows how to throw a punch. He's also dipping and moving his head off centerline without exaggerating it. In the MMA fights, the streetfighter is grappling fairly well. And you don't really learn proper grappling throwing haymakers on the street. When people say street fighter they are referring to people without any formal training or follows no established martial arts discipline. if you take a guy with some boxing experience, and throw him in a fight with an opponent who trained a little more boxing, this comparison just turns into trained fighter vs more trained fighter (which would be the more accurate title lol). No hate just pointing this out. Love your vids man.

Depends on how developed the street fighting environment is, how evolved the street is.
In my home city it was almost organised You had the locals, the foreign immigrants and the temps who come and go.
We were a bunch of kids angry at everything, didn't have much to do neither so we just stuck to whatever little thing we learnt.
I had karate punching and blocking and I kept doing that, fourish or more hours a day cause I didn't have nothing to do. Another guy did wrestling, would hold a iron pole and try to bend it, or hold a thin tire and squeeze, or run drills up and down the hill.
    Another guy knew karate kicks.
Fights happened cause of grudges, alcohol and bad group mixing. Sometimes for bets, sometimes for community stuff. Sometimes a bastard smacked Rajev's little sister and we wanted to jack him.
Anyway, fighting was not uncommon. And from the varied nationalities, and the propensity of colored to like white or yellow, you'd fight all kinds of people. Because of them, you'd often need to learn a new skill.
If you can't get close to hit them, you need to learn how to advance sideways or block the kick, learnt the teep from a guy.
If you can touch cause they're grappling you, then you need to learn basic grappling enough to survive and stand up.
I learnt that from the wrestler.
Kept getting my low kick caught by a guy who moved like one of them blowup wavy things, so I copied him and kinda sorta got it.
This, was only my country. Because of the influx of youth with very little expenditure on avenues like education or sport, we had a very developed and varied environment for fighting.
But, if the environment isn't varied, or you don't train or aren't deep in that life, whoever is calling themsleves a 'street fighter' ain't going to be very good.
And trust me, after you spend long enough time fighting people with REAL power, you learn to dodge.

Honestly, it all depends. Sometimes the martial artist doesn't have the right mindset and they get their ass beat for it.
Sometimes you see a particularly skilled boxer beat up a group of three guys.
And then you have someone like Donnie (Goddamn) Yen beating up 8 thugs because they were harrassing his girlfriend.
Doubling down on that, you have Joseph "Mighty Atom" Greenstein, a 5'4 ft STRONGMAN and wrestler who beat up 6 dockworkers during a dispute, and then beat up a group of 20 actual Nazis (This was late 1930s, so that is a legitimate title this time).

Fighting maybe genetic to a degree. No matter how hard some people train, some people just cant find that rhythm or instinct. We only see and hear about the greatest fighters, but most people who are training will never be good fighters (grappling or striking) but that doesnt they cant get better at it. Seen people who have boxed for years still look like bambi

  • @cloudmaster182
    @cloudmaster182 Год назад

Ithink the underrated thing that "streetfighters" have, as cliche as itll sound, is their attitude. U dont need training to go in there w no fear, wanting to knock somebodys head off. And likewise, theres no guarantee that training will grant u that mindset, at least without some comptition experience.
The thing abt "seeing red" is it doesnt work on someone who is also ready to fight. Its mostly intimidation and aggression, and a bit of unpredicatbility, which will not win u a fight on their own
But with a little training, or a good amount of actual experience w fighting, u gain benefits to ur reflexes, ur ability to find openings, instincts/muscle memory, movement patterns etc, all these little things that you start to pick up on after being in a lot of fights or a lot of decent-hard sparring. Even without the cleanest technique, if u add attitude and aggression to all that, youve got a pretty dangerous matchup for most people
Its still better to just train, but i think this is why a streetfighter might beat a trained fighter every so often

Fight commentary isn’t bad. I think there’s a lack of defensive training in MMA gyms. You kind of get a few rounds of pads in and start sparring pro fighters that aren’t going light. There are mma gyms that are better than others and sparring partners better than others, but defense still isn’t a priority in mma gyms. I have totally been in a position where I’m sparring someone skilled and my confidence is gone and I’m just surviving. People have egos. Sometimes the smartest way to train is to be very selective with who you train with. That being said I think that’s why bjj is the best martial art to focus on. If you can practice striking without sparring or just avoiding brain damage, and roll often and improve wrestling and bjj, that would be ideal.

From what I've heard. most "street fighters" use punches and kicks - but grappling isn't that common. "Street fighters" also seem to lack technical knowledge - they usually rely on aggression to gain their strength; could be, that by attacking blindly they try cover their fear and possible lack of skill. I doubt that guy fights against the _jujutsuka_ is actually a "street fighter"...

  • @gabe4131

Definitely a sandbagger. That Chechen in red had some training under his belt forsure. I think you need two things to actually be able to take somebody that’s aggressive with a bit of training. You have to be mentally there(not give up) and you need to have some fairly intense mma training under your belt.

Some of these street fighters definitely have some training and they fight way better the street fighters where I'm from. Street fighters goes with haymakers and they gas out real easy. I fought against street fighters using boxing, kickboxing and Jeet Kune Do, depends where the elements where we fight and l found them with no training, no conditions, no resistance. They are just worthless bullies. But like I said before these so call "street fighters" here definitely have some training.

I don't understand the definition of "streetfighter" in these videos.
Like for instance in the third match with Marco v Said. Ok, the "streetfighter" in that one looks like he has very little striking sparring, but on the other hand he does look like he's been wrestling in a club somewhere - he's got the balance, the gas tank and the ground game to equal the "trained fighter". So, what's up with that?
Then fourth match, Mike v Umar. Don't tell me Umar hasn't been training. He's all relaxed and smooth, he uses strikes to set up his kicks, from there he goes into take-down to wrestling, with at least one nasty throw, and then on the ground he switches between ground'n pound and locks. And even when his got his head caught in an armlock he doesn't panic, just calmly works his way out and gets back on top. Meanwhile Mike has been training boxing and nothing else. This is a trained boxer v trained mma fighter matchup, not a "streetfigher v pro".
Last fight, Mujtaba v Adam. (Not the same dude as earlier.) But definitely not "untrained streetfighter". Look at that takedown at 22:52. That's a trained wrestler shooting for the takedown. He loses at the end, because the other guy is a stronger wrestler. Still this is a match between two trained wrestlers and not a "streetfighter" in sight.

Okay one more comment, "Umar" has legit high level striking and wrestling. Not sure why were saying "the trained guys are getting beat up" when guys like this are clearly more trained. Perfect headkicks don't just appear. Also, he recognized the guillotine from his double leg and cleared guard to switch to the opposite side. That's exactly what a grappling background looks like.

It's very different format of fighting. The steetfighter clearly wasn't used to constant break ups during the fight. On street there is no referee to break up the fighters and give them a breather. So if they fight with vigor to advantegous position they get to keep it. Here it's clear that the street fighter was doing quite well up until 3rd break at which point he was out of gas and couldn't fight effectively.
So the results is pretty clear. MMA guy has advantage with MMA-rule set. While Street fighter probably has advantage on the rule set he's used to fighting at.

Someone could train in a specific style all their life, but without actual experienced in real combat all of that is for nothing. Subsequently someone could learn a little thing here and there and have experience in actual combat, thus those little things here and there means everything.
Really, street fighters(either trained or untrained) are just someone who fights in the streets.
And in the misty mountains of Chechnya and Dagestan and communities abroad it is culturally very encouraged to learn Martial arts, some got into street fights and test out what they've learned, then some of them called themselves street fighters and thus you got yourself street fighters with actual skills.
Also, sorry to hear about the lost man, know that feeling a lot, from a childhood friend to aunt to more recently both grandparents. Subsequently as well the tears only really start flowing way later on, like the next day or the next next day or the next week involuntary.

Marco was a fantastic fighter. He adapted in real time and copied his opponents moves (leg kicks) and innovated his own (the scissor takedown). That is pure high-level fight IQ. Bruce Lee would be proud. That was 100% a rigged decision. In no universe was that other guy the winner.
