In this video Jackus talks about the lunchclub group and why they decided to break up. The rise of callmecarson with his videos of looking at funny toilets and Invading discord servers, and of him starting SMPlive with The Jschalttcoin and content creators. Jackus also adresses the recent allogations of grooming that CallmeCarson has faced from Keemstart on Dramalert. Trying to answer the question of why lunchclub brake up.

Nice video, and I personally don’t have a huge issue with Carson when he was 19 and was talking to 17 year olds...Carson was in a bad place and when he did and hopefully after he gets help he can come back better he can definitely right the wrongs he’s made

I feel like the saddest part is that lunch club only survived about 5-6 months
It sucks that most people still think the problem was the age gap. It's not. It's the power dynamic, like you said. He's not a pedophile.
Wasn't the age gap like...2 months short of 3 years? Which like, isn't the worst ig and pretty common where I live but I do think it's still kinda weird I guess? Like, at the very least as a compounding factor to everything else

@@jameeii3572 I feel that it wouldn't be that bad if it wasn't for everything else added to it. I dated someone a bit over 2 years older than me in High School and it was fine. But it would have been creepy if I found out that person was constantly chasing only people younger than them ya know? Especially cause in Carson's case he constantly made weird comments on their ages.
xqc summed it up pretty well, it's a gray area between morality and legality, like people weren't as concerned about the age gap or the legal repercussions of his actions. From what I saw, most people concerned over one or another weren't familiar with Carson, a lot of them hated him and his content before this and even took some sort of pride this happened, saying stuff like "I knew it!", which I despise as much as the act itself. Imagine being abused and someone rejoices, boasting how they somehow knew and did absolutely nothing to prevent it.
Personally, I think the worst part about this is he hid the true from his fans, even from his friends, very likely continuing his behavior and hurting other fans.
@@jameeii3572 It’s a thing of maturity, your brain matures till around 21, right? So the maturity gap is huge, but when you’re what, 50? Even when you’re 30, dating someone 10 or 20 years your elder isn’t that big of a deal.

Dude it hurts to see those clips, it hurts because he had everything going for him and because he made stupid, avoidable mistakes that's caused him to lose everything. I feel bad for the victims, but I also feel bad for Carson. I want to be a doctor and I can't imagine making a choice to do something that I know could ruin me if anyone found out. It just baffles me how people can be this dumb, what is so worth so much that you would throw away your dream career? I just don't get it.

Do you know what makes me happy is that they are kind of rebuilding the lunch club by doing the chuckle Sandwich podcast. They have ted slime swaggersouls and jschlatt. I’m just happy that they can all talk and laugh again!

So sad to see the Lunch Club break up. They were my favorite youtubers as a whole group, wish they didn't have to leave their great channel.
I really like how this video has a sense of being informative with a touch of humour instead of just assuming stuff or satisfying morbid curiosity.
You stuck with the facts and shared them with people so everyone can make their own judgement about the situation, and I think that's pretty cool of you! Thanks for posting :)
Kudos on making the first video I've seen since the information was released that made me look back at Carson's old clips with fondness rather than newfound disgust.
Look back on them fondly but don’t forget what happened. They were good times while they lasted
it was devastating seeing them fall apart, they were genuinely funny and brought smiles to many people's faces. they had so much potential and a great future ahead of them.
carson, smplive, and lunch club were highlights of 2019 for me. It was heartbreaking to see Carson stoop so low, and i know this is wishful thinking, but I hope Carson could make amends with his friends, especially Josh, who was the closest to Carson.

Another thing that I remember that you might find interesting: Carson had said in one of his livestreams (on his second twitch channel) that Lunchclub had fallen apart due to ‘mismanagement of finances’ by Manager Ryan P. That’s obviously not the main reason they split up, if it’s true at all and wasn’t fabricated for Carson to look better in the public eye. Who knows at this point
If that was the case the Misfits would be fucked, but they are doing A-OK and have been with Ryan P way longer

My favorite youtuber who I had remained loyal to and supported for now years suddenly wasn't who I thought he was.

This made me feel really nostalgic for the few months in 2020 that I was really into Lunch Club. I was part of a little group on twitter that I spoke to and interacted pretty regularly with the bigger smptwt community and it was really fun!! Like everyone got so excited whenever one of them uploaded and my timeline was always full of screenshots and cool fanart and people making jokes about it and I really did have a lot of fun at that point, it felt so lively. Unfortunately when people started digging up the members past offences and things started falling apart, it really lost that sense of community that I really enjoyed, and it became the kind of space where you felt like you were walking on eggshells. I still watch all of them, I'm glad they're doing the Chuckle Sandwich podcast but I really do miss that strong community feeling that smptwt had around April/May of 2020. Really well put together and well spoken video, I enjoyed it

Great video!! I really liked the editing and how it was all put together, really clean, and straight to the point. It's very upsetting to see how lunch club fell, but I'm glad they all seem to be a lot happier doing their own thing now :)

I respect the people who tried to help him. They knew he wasn’t a bad person, and just wanted to help him be a better person.
What is fucked up is how his “close friends” went to keemstar. If he is doing something illegal, report him to the police. Going to keemstar is just an attempt at trying to get clout and recognition.

i did not know they started smplive because of mindcrack smp. that was my entire childhood and i never find anyone who actually KNOWS what it is nowadays, which is sad considering how good it was. im happy to just know that the thing that reignited minecraft to the public was inspired by something i adored to watch growing up

The weirdest thing about this is, I had a weird thought/sense that Carson was a controversial person before I even got to know about him. But when I started to watch some videos with Carson on it like the video with Jaiden and other stuff. Then I thought "Wow, he seems like a cool dude" and I started respecting him. Then when I heard about the allegations, I was disappointed but I'm not that emotional about it because I wasn't really a big fan of him. But it was really disappointing
I looked this video up because I didn't know what happened after, I think I saw Noah speaking ill of the rest of the group, Ted, Jschlatt and Slimecicle are still friends, Jawsh is still around, but I don't really know anything else

I've only been a CallMeCarson viewer for a few months now, but I still feel for him. When you go just over 18, dating people younger than you is a tricky line to walk. I mean, I'm also 19 and I feel attracted to girls a couple years younger than me.

how did he use his power to take advantage of them? he never once in his chat messages talk about his fame or popularity. people think that just because you're famous means you have to date other famous people because otherwise, you are using you're taking advantage of them, which isn't fair.
i’m pretty sure the girl he was messaging was a fan. i could be wrong, but the main problem with her being a fan is that it means she’s watched his videos and looked up to him, and carson took advantage of that to try and sext her. since she’s a fan, it would have been hard for her to say no.
