Well spotted, Jodie, that is indeed Mark Bonnar from "Shetland"! Great actor. Also, the producers of WILTY give Lee the most outrageous stuff just because he's so good at pulling quick-witted comedy out of thin air.
Lee and David have done hundreds of these episodes at this point so realistically there's very few truths left for them to do. They throw ridiculous things at Lee because they know he's quick enough to make something funny out of it, that's all.
This was a fun one .David and Lee know all about each other so they often get lumbered with an impossible ' possession' and it gives them a chance to use their talents - even if you hate taxidermy it was still a cute and witty example .

I haven't heard of this WILTY where Lee Mack has a stuffed mouse as a guest, but the WILTY team are just plain evil when it comes to giving Lee a instantantly unbelievable thing he has to BS his heart about! I'm 4 months too late, but I still will enjoy!
The woman on Davids team is actress Sheila Hancock who started her career in sit-coms in the (very) early 1960s, she is also the widow of John Thaw (Inspector Morse).
Taxidermy was a big part of the original 1960's Physco - when she is eating in the parlour behind the office there are lots of stuffed birds there. It also explains how he could preserve his mum's body.
Several comedians and cartoonists have cracked the gag about stuffed animal heads being the visible evidence of the whole creature protruding through both sides of a wall. Then, in the 2000s, surreal Italian artist Maurizio Cattelan took it literally, stuffing horses' bodies and attaching them to the wall instead of their heads. Weird stuff (in more senses than one).
they do this for many years and David and Lee are (almost) always there. They have run out of weird truths. And the are so great performers, they just go for it. Also they are a pretty big deal in the show and outside. If they were not ok with this system, it wouldn't happen. Some of the obviously fake ones with David and Lee are absolute classics. Also the prop is just hilarious.
WILTY is so much fun to watch but you have not listened to Rob Brydon's truth or lie yet, Cuddle Jumper and I Was Recently Bounced Off A Bouncy Castle and his impressions he is hilarious
That is part of the WILTY team's evilness, they come up the worlds most imposible thing, that they unleash on Lee Mack an want him to on the spot swear his heart out that it's true! One of the fastest quick thinking family freindly comedians in the world!
They give him the 'worst ones' because they know that Lee will be able to come up with ridiculous, but hilarious explanations. Nearly all of Lee's ones are lies.
This is why panel shows don’t really work in the US….comedians would be trying to outdo each other and make as many wisecracks as possible…..whereas here, David Mitchell and Lee Mack have very different comedic styles, but are happy to allow each other to make each other laugh, and are happy to sit and watch them in full flow, without being jealous of each other or trying to interrupt them
Apparently the Surrey Police force also attempted a 'crash' course in taxidermy the other night. ( It failed, and the cow is OK ,but in an interview, told reporters "it didn't find it a'moo'sing". I'll get my coat
I agree that most of the cards they give Lee Mak to read sre ridiculous and obviously lies. However I think they give them to him because he's so good at building funny stories around them. Tne peoducers are more concerned with laughs than game points.

Not that these things matter, but she is also Dame Sheila Hancock, which I think qualifies her as bonafide National Treasure.
She was in The Rag Trade, 1961-63 with Tony Hancock and Miriam Karling who shouted "everybody out!". Fantastic character actors in that show.
