      Whatever "suspicious" behavior is exhibited, the police often turn it around to seem bad. Not crying? You're not in shock; you're a cold-blooded murderer. Crying too much? Those are alligator tears; you're a cold-blooded killer. I have watched myriad interviews where police reverse themselves on what is/isn't suspicious more times than I can count. Some will say anything to make a suspect fit the crime than actually find a perpetrator.

      Omg! I was just saying this about another case. In that case, it was clear the mom of the missing kid was mentally slow (not trying to be mean) but seriously just looking and listening to her speak it was obvious and it was just as clear that she is devastated but because she wasn't hysterical they put that poor woman thru hell and then it was later found to be a freaking stranger and they had wasted so much time on the mom. Then they still treated her horribly because her emotions weren't "normal."

      When my brother passed away, a man who was one of 2 good male figures in life, I didn't cry till after his funeral which was 3 days later. I felt awful, how come I couldn't cry?! He was my best friend, mentor, idol, he was everything that created the me I am today and he was gone over night and the last thing I said to him was mean cause he upset our mother... I regret it everyday of my life still, almost 10 years on now, but I still didn't cry till after his funeral. I got home went to my room sat in a corner on the floor and cried for the rest of the day, till it was painful and no physical tears came out. It irks me to no end too when cops just get tunnel visions and make their minds up from the start and refuse to at least entertain any other theory. The worst part is there is NEVER an apology for the disgusting treatment of the innocent people they destroy and personally I think it's just that bit worse for the innocent family members that get accused then someone from the general public as that family member is already trying to deal with the grief of the situation at hand.
      The police absolutely thoroughly disgust me sometimes and I don't know how they can even look at themselves in the mirror.

The relationship Jessie had with her dad is the exact same relationship I had with my dad growing up. As a single father, he raised me (an only child) and took me to his work with him (also on construction sites) and my fondest childhood memories are playing in plaster and writing all over the walls (he would write measurements on the walls of houses they were building, and he would let me draw pictures before patching over them). To hear the treatment Mark and Archie endured genuinely brought me physical pain. I've stopped the video where he has just gone in to question his dad about Jessie, and I just can't watch. I know they need to rule out the family, but there has to be a better way and detaining the grandfather in a physical way has to be illegal. I don't care that they had to look at it at all angles. They chain smoke cigarettes or find idle - bordering on useless - tasks to do such as sorting nails, washing something that doesn’t need to be washed, or starting a new hobby in the garage or shed… or if they’re really overwhelmed, they’ll just sit there and sit wringing their hands for a long period of time (his FIL sat and did this in his shed a lot after he became a widower. One of late MIL’s church members started coming by to look after him realising he was depressed and lonely - didn’t try to preach or anything coz FIL was an avowed atheist, would just ask him if he wanted to take the dog for a walk, needed help with the toolshed or even just wanted some beer and company while watching the football)

I happened to be around the same age as Jessica when it occurred so I was very young myself but hearing my parents talk about it was honestly traumatizing to me. what's more heartbreaking is that Jessie wasn't killed imidietly. The real perpetrator kept her captive over the weekend, so she was alive for two days at the very least. I cannot help but think if the police didn't waste so much time trying to pin it on Archie, and bothered to-at least simutaniously- look somewhere else, there's a chance she could've been saved. I don’t think the police officer handled it poorly. They searched everywhere, questioned people, came up with theories what could have happened, looked up criminals, looked up often if he turned back home, did search in peoples home and so on. They didn’t give up, yeah the thing about wasting days on the father and grandfather was useless and they took it to far but otherwise I don’t get why their job would be bad. It’s often case like this has to do with the family and especially since the grandfather didn’t have the best past. I think they handle it like most cops do🤷‍♀️

    • @JR-js9bk
      @JR-js9bk 2 года назад +2

      @@Olivia-tz8rl Eh, while I give kudos for the search effort but they handled Archie extremely poorly. They lied about having physical DNA evidence and tackled him into the wall when he tried to leave the interrogation room when he had not been detained nor arrested. They also forced his own son who was completely obviously distressed (as seen in the documentary Eleanor mentioned) he is sobbing and begging them not to make him do it and he was forced to anyway. It’s sickening and traumatic for two men grieving the loss of their daughter and granddaughter. All the while, Jessie was being fucking tortured while the police continuously interviewed two innocent men. I’m sorry, but I cannot say that it’s good police work because it wasn’t.

It's used only if they 100% believe that there is no one else that could have committed the crime, they can use false information to get a confession.
