    As a former Amazon Problem Solver I can explain the package being delivered with no outside box. Some items are labeled as SIOC (ships in own container). However when I worked there I saw a teddy bear labeled as SIOC and one of the packers just slapped an address label right on the bear. 🤦🏼‍♀️ Sometimes the system is wrong. Haha. But also sometimes packers run out of boxes and the metrics for number of items shipped per hour is so high they'll just send it down to shipping with no box. Most of the time these are kicked out as the system knows how much the item and its packaging weighs. But if the person working kickouts overrides it then you get an item shipped without a box when it shouldn't be.

    Never ever would I have thought that the wash cloths that are a staple in 99% of Swedish homes, and have been since the 50’s, weren’t a global thing. Literally had no idea they were a Swedish invention. They’re called wettexdukar (literally wettex cloths) over here because the original brand is Wettex. Paper towels aren’t nearly as common here as they seem to be in the US, and I guess that’s why. People never ever clean with single use towels. We clean with cotton/linen rags or wettexdukar!
    Loved this vid! But then again, I always do 🥰

    • @StephBer1
      @StephBer1 2 года назад +5

      I remember my Mum used to have Wettex in our kitchen all the time and then they disappeared around the 80s and Chux took over. We live in Australia. I must get some as they were really good. I didn't know you could wash them though. That's a game changer.

    • @FilippaSkog
      @FilippaSkog 2 года назад +6

      @@StephBer1 They are for sure! A lot of people boil them instead, when they begin to smell, and that works just as well.

      @@FilippaSkog yes, I came to give the tip to soak in boiling water rather than throwing in the washing machine. My cloth is about 18 months old and looks to have at least another 18 months of life in it. I soak it in a bowl of boiling water plus dish soap / bleach / Oxy clean - whatever seems called for that day.

      I saw these for the first time when I visited my family in Sweden and I thought they were awesome! There were so many things I encountered like this in Sweden that made me wonder why don’t we have these things in the US? For the past few years I’ve been using Norwex microfiber cloths to decrease my paper towel usage and I love them, but I think I’m going to get these too to try and get rid of paper towels all together.

      I second this! I love how Japan has a soap/sponge for the mirror where you “clean” the mirror with the soap/sponge and it won’t fog up anymore. You just splash it with water and viola un-fogged again. Trying to see yourself in the mirror after a shower in my house is impossible. Wiping the condensation doesn’t work either. I just have to either shower with the bathroom door open or wait 5 to 10 minutes after I shower for the mirror to un-fog on its own.

    Doggies are den animals so they like beds they can nuzzle in🥰. I have a rescue puggle which is basically pug & frenchie adjacent, he loves the Amazon boxes I set up for the cats. I'd recommend getting an Amazon box a bit bigger than the leash basket and putting some soft blankets in it (towels get compact and hard), your puppers will thank you 😊.

    Off topic, but one way to expand on your cup idea for the kids - color code them! The kids, that is! When mine were little, each one had a color (red, blue, yellow) and were responsible for their items whether it was a towel, toothbrush, dishes, or back pack. If it was red, I knew who it belonged to. If a toothbrush was dry, I knew who needed to brush their teeth. Many kid items are packed in primary color sets, so it is easy to do this for up to 4 children. I even color coded their essential documents in poly folders. I don’t have to look at the names, but can grab the blue folder for my son's birth certificate or the red folder for my daughter's passport. Once I did this, I even bought fewer kid things.

    Some really useful recommendations, Kallie. I put felt furniture pads on the bottom of my blender and juicer. They make it so easy to slide those appliances around on the counter. However, the caster wheels would probably be more functional on rougher surfaces, like a picnic table or a slate countertop. I've been using Swedish cleaning cloths for several years now and I MUCH prefer them to sponges. They last a long time, are easier to sanitize than a sponge and when they get really old I consign them to the garage or workshop before their final trip to the trash can.

You can also run them through the DW to clean/sanitize by hanging them over the top rack. I like the ones with the cute prints because they bring a little happy when I use them. I feel like Swedish dish cloths work the same as dish towels do, though, and that it would be more eco-friendly to use dish towels for years and years and instead of throwing away a dish cloth for every ten uses.

      I agree. That is what I use, dishrags and plain rags.

    Thanks for sharing these great finds! Love your channel! I'll be ordering the casters and the push hooks. I also have to say how much I love Olive! I'm thinking she likes sleeping in the basket because it helps her hold her head up so the cone maybe doesn't bother her as much?

    Poor Olive. Hope she is doing well. Maybe a dog bed with sides will help. Always good ideas. Thank you.
