I have been making a triangle fold on my toilet paper (and any place where I’ve used the bathroom, friend’s house, at work, a public toilet…) ever since I got back from my honeymoon. Thought it upscaled the bathroom and was so simple to do, I can’t leave a bathroom without folding the toilet paper into a triangle ❤
We just stayed in a beautiful bed and breakfast, and yes, they had folded toilet paper. I can't lie, I was impressed. It's been a long time since I've seen that and I think it's a nice touch. I wouldn't go to the trouble myself, but as a guest, I did appreciate it.
I have been having health issues off and on for the last 3 years, so establishing a cleaning routine has been my challenge. When you make the bed completely, it looks SO much better. Then, gather and wash all the dishes and put them away; I've heard people call that "completing the cycle." Next, pick up all the clutter. If it is not decorative or functional in its current location, PUT IT AWAY. I noticed that if the clutter was gone, it made the room look clean even if the surfaces hadn't been washed. Finally, gather, wash, dry, fold, fold, and put away the laundry. Again, you have to complete the cycle. The laundry can run in the background, but I have to set a timer, so it is not forgotten. If I do this and put in dryer sheets, my laundry won't smell "fried." Another cycle to complete is unload groceries, put it all away, and fold your grocery bags. This makes things ready for the next shopping trip. Sorry for this rant, but it's mainly for me. If anyone else needs it, I'm glad it's helpful.
I agree with these tips! When you become clutter blind, in addition to asking a friend with a stylish house for their opinion, you can do a really simple thing. Take a photo or 2. When you look at a photo, it's harder to overlook the oversized furniture or clutter in the corner.
Great video! I have to say that I do like the folded toilet paper and I usually do that in my home to the extra toilet paper that I keep in a basket. I realize that means I have touched it but I never even thought that it might bother some people. I touched a lot of things, pretty much everything I put in there and around my home. 😅 I guess if someone doesn’t want to use the sheet of toilet paper that I folded, feel free to rip it off and use the next ones.
Thanks for the tips. We sold our house in 2022 and I watched a ton of home staging videos to get the house ready for showing. We’re in our new house now but I still use some of the staging ideas to make my new house look nice.
The bed is pretty with all the pillows but then at night I have to take them all off and throw them on the floor, then place them all back on the bed in the morning after making it. I don’t have time for that. I get up early and leave for work before daylight. Just too much work for me. But on the other hand the rest of these tips are great!!
Thank you so much for the cleaning videos. You have inspired and motivated me to clean my house in a way that I can finally maintain it. Your tips on cleaning the glass shower door are truly amazing. I never knew how to effectively clean them until I came across your tips. THANK YOU SO MUCH!! 🎉🎉❤❤❤
Years ago, my daughter had a friend sleep over. When she was getting ready to take a shower & came to me with, “I can’t tell which are the towels & which are the rags,” I knew it was past time for some new towels! As for the folded TP, I’m indifferent. I know it’s supposed to say, “This bathroom has been cleaned,” but anyone can fold a piece of toilet paper without actually cleaning the bathroom!
My girls and I just recently cleaned a spot in our living room which meant decluttering as well. The down side of the three hours that took us to clean and declutter that one spot was that my allergies got really bad
When we sold our home, we were told to pack up at least 1/3 of our stuff & family photos. I also had an essential oil vaporizer to lightly scent the air.
I'm preparing to sell my home and my realtor told me to rent a storage unit and declutter 1/2 my house because I just have so much and live in a small home. I agreed with het, besides less to pack when it sells.
We just sold our home. I consider myself a minimalist-but started selling some furniture I didn’t want to move. I was shocked how much better the rooms looked with less furniture (I hadn’t thought they were too full.) I also found that taking down “small” photos from a wall really made the space feel larger. If you picture a show home-there are never any small pictures or photos hanging-only a few large ones.
Some great tips!!! Thank you! I’ve never seen the point of doing fancy folding on toilet paper! But then again I’ve also never seen the point of extra pillows on the bed if they are just going to be chucked on the floor at night. I don’t see the point of them just looking pretty during the day when no one is even using the room! Haha. Maybe if I was selling the house and having photos taken, I might do it, but I wouldn’t bother for friends or family.
All of my clothes and shoes for the four seasons fit nicely in my closet. I guess I don't have an over abundance of items. My sister, on the other hand, uses a spare bedroom as a walk-in closet for her things.
I feel that if someone takes the time to make toilet paper nice, then they have taken care of the rest of the bathroom, so it’s a bit psychological. :)
With all the microfibre PLEASE consider using special washing bags that will trap the microplastic while washing (f.e. Guppyfriend) - let’s not flush them into our waters any more
In all my 70+ years it’s never occurred to me to worry that someone might have touched my toilet paper, lol. In fact, I’d hazard a guess that if it’s on a holder, it has been touched by someone. There’s no way to unwrap and put TP into a holder without touching it. As long as it’s dry and looks clean, with no signs of having been wet, I wouldn’t worry about it, unless you’re immune compromised, in which case maybe you should carry your own supply.
Having layers and extra pillows on your bed to look nice when selling your house is one thing, but I'm not going to deal with those things that I do not use on a daily basis. I agree. Don't touch my toilet paper. Other tips are good. Thank you.
So as long as the t paper is dry and i have no broken skin where it will be applied, i do not care. Im not immuno compromised so it makes very little difference to me if someone touched it. I do have issues if it looks like it got wet. That is a no. But just folded? Not something i worry about.
I'm not into the fancy tp folding. I do like it when I'm checking into a hotel and it's folded to a point. Makes me feel like they cleaned the room, and didn't just run in there to take a nap, go potty, or something more exciting 😂 But in someone's house, I mean they live there. I don't want to walk into a museum; makes it feel uncomfortable...
I used to like the folded toilet paper, but now that I think about somebody touching it… Don’t touch with toilet paper! Sometimes you don’t realize things until somebody else says it
...What is with the " Chopped Pillow "????! UGGHH.. PILLOWS LOOK UN-NATURAL with that being done..it looks contrived. I do not get WHY this is 'a thing ' in Decor . I previously helped do Home Staging and we n e v e r did that silly " Pillow Chop " .
Great tips but I don’t care if someone has just put a new hand towel in their bathroom or loo, as I refuse to wipe my hands on other people’s hand towels. They’re nearly always damp as other people have used them. Totally unhygienic. I’d rather just use loo roll. Speaking of loo roll/paper I really thought that arranging it in a fancy way was just a joke. I’ve never actually seen that. I never entertain. Too posh for me. Years ago if we did have someone round for a meal we just called it tea, rather than dinner. Sounds much more relaxing.

I love this time of year. Cobwebs become decorations!
One of my favorite aunts always said, "If someone comes to her house looking for cobwebs, she wouldn't want to disappoint them." 😂😂
😂
Omg what a cool aunt!!!
😂❤😂❤😂
Sounds like she would be my favourite auntie too!! 🤣🤣🤣

I am with you on the fresh towels for visitors. Indeed a separate guest towel.
Get a pretty tray& buy beautiful paper towels.

@karenrich9092 I agree, my motto which I was brought up with is; If a job's worth doing, it's worth doing well.

I love when the TP says "Welcome, you're special, have a seat." 😜

You touch it anyway when you put it on the holder. Also you touch it when you pull your piece off.
Thanks for the tips. We sold our house in 2022 and I watched a ton of home staging videos to get the house ready for showing. We’re in our new house now but I still use some of the staging ideas to make my new house look nice.
This was a BIG help….just simple common sense, but, easy to overlook.

I'm with you on the toilet paper issue. Love the tips you've provided to go to 110% on the house appearance.
Agreed… please don’t touch my toilet paper. It is cute when it’s folded, but I’m ripping it off and using the next sheet that hasn’t been touched. 😊

As long as there is toilet paper there, I'm fine. The whole fold point bit doesn't impress me but it does impress many others

Yes, I hate to dust because I am stuffy the rest of the day!
@kb1236 with me I sound like I'm having an asthma attack as well as coughing and wheezing and running nose
Re toilet paper .. A point is good. It looks like the cleaners did a neat. I do rip it off too!! How funny!
Very helpful tips... thank you
Not a fan of the chopped pillow...ugh!
Do you have longer videos, loved this❤
Very informative
Thanks
I like the point on the tp AND I always rip it off and not use it.
I’m trying to sell my home. More videos like this please!

I agree with straightening the pillows, but controversial... I think the karate chop look looks stupid. 😆
The karate chop is also outdated
hahahah no karate🫱 to my pillows🙈 and no folding 🧻paper
Always rip off the first few squares of tap when using a bathroom outside of my own home, especially public bathrooms!
4:24 That home stager put a tub in that bedroom? 😂
Those scary “pillow ears”…. WHY???? Who even started that??!!
Yeeeeesssss!!!!I thought I was the only one who hates it
Aww to each their own, I guess. I love it.
Even I don’t like and don’t understand why those ears 😅
Yes! I've always thought they look stUpid.
I don’t like the pillow chop either. My instinct is to fix that when I go to a hotel.
Great video!
Ditch the brown towels - yuck! White towels always make a bathroom look clean.
Thank you
I think folded toilet paper looks fancy or spa like.

I agree. Don't touch my toilet paper.
Other tips are good.
Thank you.
You have nice shoes!
I never fold toilet paper into a point at home, but sometimes I do it in public restrooms -especially the grungier ones.
How do you hang bath towels to dry after using them?
On a towel rail obviously. In the U.K. it will be above the radiator or you might have a heated towel rail instead of a radiator.
@ good to know. I was thinking two hooks since I’m so limited on space in the bathroom and 2 of us use this bathroom. Thanks for the comment back! 👍
@ ,a rail is better than a hook if you have wall space because you can spread the towels out better.
On a towel warming bar, they dry quickly.
I think if someone makes a point on the toilet paper they are trying too hard. Reminds me of Monica on Friends.😅
Like folded fancy
DON"T YOUCH MY TIOLET PAPER !😂
Wow
I like a fresh roll of toilet paper still in package.

So we fold the toilet paper as part of the bathroom cleaning. Folded paper means the room is clean.
I don't think it's necessary to fold the toilet paper.
I didn't like folded tp
I'm not into the fancy tp folding. I do like it when I'm checking into a hotel and it's folded to a point. The karate chop ? Nope! Looks ridiculous imo
I´m on the don´t touch my toilet paper team 😅
News flash, it has already been touched whether folded or not.
I think the roomservice touched everything in the bathroom, so what? I can't use the bathroom any more???
Right? Or sleep in the bed that someone else made, etc.?

Who would worry about someone touching their loo paper? A tad on the overly precious side.

I think it started out as a status thing; real down pillows can be chopped, polyester fill pillows can't hold it.

Don't like the TP decor. I do the same as you and rip it off and toss it.
Keep your fingers off my Tp 😂
Don’t touch
The karate chop is SO overdone. And old.
Great tips but I don’t care if someone has just put a new hand towel in their bathroom or loo, as I refuse to wipe my hands on other people’s hand towels. They’re nearly always damp as other people have used them. Totally unhygienic.

I have a pile of small, face cloth towels and a wicker basket for the wet/ used cloths. Everyone has a clean towel each time.
fancy toilette paper is a waste (get what I did there?) of time and life's too short lol
Dont touch my Toilette Paper...
Folded toilet paper is dumb
Pls don't touch my tp❤
Don't touch my toilet paper
🧻 Further to that, if someone uses the faucet to 'stamp' the toilet paper, I'm searching for a whole different roll.
