this is Thomas testing us if we learned how to spot bad advice... this guy checks all the boxes...
He just taught us some important things, though! Such as being aware of which kind of vitamin B6 to consume.
5 plugs of supplements bro owns equity stakes in would be a less misleading title 😂
They could have done this on the home shopping network.
It's unavoidable
But what he suggests doesn't need to be from his brands
"Biohacker" who can't reverse his grey hair yet dreams to live to 180...
None of that means that what he's saying isn't true
Oftentimes people buy equity in a company they believe in
That's way better than people selling their endorsement for money when they know a product doesn't work
Which is how basically the last 70 years have gone
@@lenthomas4685😂😂😂😂
I’m 63 years old and people think I’m 40 years old, but the supplements I’ve taken for years are: multivitamin/mineral since I was 12 years old, CoQ10 since I was 23, and Vitamin D & Sunshine, Green Tea (now decaf). I eat whole home-cooked foods. I occasionally cheat every couple of months and will eat a calzone. I never smoked, and only occasionally drank a couple of beers or a couple of glasses of red wine up until I was 40. I quit drinking any alcohol at 40 because I hated the way it made me feel the next day.
Very Smart 👍🤗✨
Could you please share which brand of vitamin/mineral you're taking?! Greatly appreciated 🙏
You sound like a real party 🎊
That is wonderful! Do you have a FB page to follow? I think you have a lot to give as encouragement. Thank you.
This sounds like a commercial!!!
He may be right on all of these but I can’t get past the sleazy sales pitch!
He’s a little too egotistical and skeevy. I take what he says if it’s backed by others. I know, I know this is about gathering knowledge. I respect Thomas, so I gave him a listen.
Modafinil isn't a supplement. It's a drug.
But I'm glad he included it. I want to learn such things.
@@GvIn2it Dave's been very open about having problems with mold and brain fog plus other stuff when he was in college. He took (takes) Modafinil as a medical treatment.
It's also not necessary as you get older. Like the speed of typing is a skill you can develop you dont' need a drug for it.
He said that its a prescribe drug
I have been using a VIT D that comes with k1-k2, and my VIT D lvls, bone mineral, etc... are pretty good even during winter or when I'm all the time inside. I also take glutathione, don't feel or don't know if it works, but I take all that could help me with longevity .Best
Good video, Thank you!
I appreciate the followup questions you asked Thomas. Especially around Modafinil. You're a good interviewer. The only other thing I would've liked for you to ask him, is the longest time period he's gone without Modafinil since he believes it's non-addictive.
Hahaha, good question
He looks older than his age though...
😂
I was thinking the same thing. I would assume a biohacker longevity expert would look younger than their age. In a separate part of the interview, Dave said he’s 6% body fat. Does he know we can see him? 😂
Based longevity video. Thanks for having on Dave
This guy has cool "Bono" style glasses, so I'll agree with everything he says.
He was expecting to be interviewed in a wind tunnel.
😂
Underrated comment
Bono is such a tool… the glasses! Hahaha
That must be a Brit who made this comment.. or is hatred of bono both sides of the pond!!!😂.
Dave looks pretty good fo being in his 70s dont be so honest guys.
Don’t you know he will read these comments!👀
Why does he not look healthy if he is so healthy? Thomas looks great, Model Health guy, Rhonda Patrick, Dom D'Agnastino, even Jack Lalane looked vibrante until his passing.
What gives?
He is older than all of the people you listed. But I think he is a fake in terms of living the lifestyle. He try’s all of these hacks so he can live hard. I don’t trust him at all
Thomas looks great, except lately he’s got dark circles and bags under his eyes, looking strung out AF. He’s spoken out about the toll having kids takes on your sleep and other routines. It’s so true. Having kids is a HUGE transition to your lifestyle. Look at Attia. Never spoke out about the difficult balance between family and work. Went fucking crazy, ended up in psych ward for two separate stints, multiple weeks, and is finally speaking out about it. He never made the transition, and tried to maintain his prior life and routines with his family life and routines, and it didn’t work. I can’t wait for a few years down the road when Thomas reflects on these times. Advice, mourn the death of your old self, make the transition to your new self, and build a new sustainable routine around your new life. Some do it easier and faster than others. Some don’t ever do it and get divorced. If you want to keep a family strong, healthy and sustainable you gotta make the transition
Because he curls celery stalks and the rest of those people curl barbells and dumbbells.
It’s because Tom takes those special supplements that are banned by wada
I was shocked to find out he’s almost 11 years younger than me. He looks ancient.
What is the protein powder you mentioned before ?
There was a amores flavor and you compared to milk shake
Was so not expecting him to push modafonil, I thought he was over it. Like stuff which got your through college/hard times or whatever but is better done without in the long run if you can (like adhd meds). Not sure what to make of it, pretty sure the science is inconclusive.
it's a proven drug that is extremely safe, it's OTC in other countries. I've taken it, it works immensely well in terms of focus and higher brain activity.
The only thing he's altered on his recommendation is lowering the dose. Starting at 25mg, and only take in the morning. I used to take 200mg, never slept.
What about the other 5k supplements he takes?
Discussion on glutathione here is not well-informed. Don't take glutathione proximal to exercise -- it will reduce exercise adaptation by obfuscating the oxidation pathway. Best way to make glutathione is to take GLYNAC. This guy doesn't seem to have read the recent literature on GLYNAC.
350mg/day Liposomal glutathione doesn't appear to affect my workouts.
GlyNAC is the way!
This guy is nothing but an infomercial
@@GvIn2it If you take it more than 6 hrs prior or 4 hrs after exercise should be fine! also this is a relatively small amount, esp. considering the bioavailability of oral glutathione vs GLYNAC.
Can you recommend a company? Pure encapsulations?
I think Thomas needs to watch his own video the last one titled (How to spot a Fraud) because there's one sitting right in front of him.😅😂
Dave reminds me of the holistic healer episode of Seinfeld.
Tor Eckman, "yeah he's great he'll fix you right up" Krammer stated to George 👍😆
where is the scientific study for this guy's 1000 day synthetic B6 claim? has this actually been proven in human trials? Dave Asprey is not a medical doctor, yet he speaks with such confidence and authority. Show me the PMIDs.
Doctors study nutrition for 1 day. They only know what Big pharma pushes!
@@hayleyfarrelly6093 show me scientific proof of this 1,000 day synthetic B6 claim.
Just google it. I had b6 toxicity and felt like absolute shit
@matttrevillien9865 how do we know you didn't get toxicity due to taking B6 far above the RDA? Most supplements have doses significantly above the RDA amounts. How do we know some people aren't predisposed to B6 toxicity? These are things that can be figured out with human controlled trials. Anecdotes are not scientific fact. i have also experienced B6 toxicity and it was because i was taking way too much. i abstained for a while, now take very mild doses and have no problems.
I prefer guys, who are not doctors, because they can think outside the box. Albeit I agree they need to back up their claims, which Dave doesn't.
Doctors produce dumb stuff like the ages long egg fallacy. "Well, we in our incredible wisdom determine that egg is bad, because it contains cholesterol, and we in our godlike wisdom are above looking at studies comparing the health of egg eaters and non egg eaters. We are good just demonizing cholesterol without context. And don't forget bowing to our wisdom. Did we mention we are wiser than you?"
Simplicity is king.
I would like to visit one of Dave Aspre"s Upgrade Labs !!
“Where the streets have no name…”
I take one every day. Its not addictive
May I ask if your doctor prescribes it to treat a specific diagnosis or are they understanding enough to prescribe for an off label use? My doctor won’t, even though I have a sleep apnea diagnosis.
@@Mike-vu1rn no I was joking because he said he needs one every day.... but it's not addictive 😕
@@whatthefunction9140nice 😂 I’m intrigued by what he says of its potential, even though I am not sold of his non-addictive claim
I don’t agree with modafinil … majority of us don’t have these issues .. falling asleep while driving? What are you even talking about? And it has side effects similar to Motrin? Motrin is horrible for you! I would never take that!
Haven’t seen Dave in several years. Definitely looks different. Not certain for the better.
“Buy my products”
Thank you gentlemen!
I'd take some modafinil right now
I've taken 1800mg NAC 3x a day for days in a row, my husband has too. It will eliminate sinusitis. Prob will help allergies.
Bullshit
@@nikocasual5126 I've been sinusitis free for 10yrs now with just a maintenance dose. If it comes back, I up the dose. I'm not going to take the time to comment if it's not for real.
Can ANYONE explain how this guy who looks 30 years older than his age is a good source for longevity advice…???
Fish oil daily ? Nah, Modafinil. Keep it coming
Another video with Dave (same discussion with Thomas) Dave goes into why Omega 3's might not be the best thing. The data is still evolving. They brought up Dr Rhonda Patrick during that discussion.
If it's by prescription, how's the average person going to get modafinil?
What is exactly minerals 101?
A toxic mineral pill
It’s the minerals keeping Dave looking 70, at the age of 101!
You can get a hefty amount of glutathione in broccoli, cauliflower, Brussels sprouts, cabbage
Thank you!
He says our diet from food we grow is deficit in what we need to live and stay healthy but then he says everything you need comes from when you eat a healthy diet . So why does he contradict himself ?
@@user-bb4xk6bb7nxxx That sounds like Paul Saladino. I’ve personally experienced my body feeling great after eating fresh veggies which are packed with phytonutrients and fiber among other things. My body just recovers better when I’m incorporating those things in my daily regimen
If you're not allergic to a lot of people, are allergic to these veggies discomfort bloating
This is so interesting thank you
This guy looks like is in his late 60's!!!! But actually it is 50😂 and taking some BS for 23 years! What a giggle 😂😂!
lol. I figured he was in his 70s looking like he’s 60 but he’s actually 50!!
How do you make an order? I need step by step instructions.
Thomas DeLauer does some of the best interviews
This is an ad 😂
Yeah but this is the worst..... this is nothing but an infomercial he's hit a all new low on this and I am considering deleting him from my watch list just a few videos ago he talked about how to spot basically BS on the internet and that's exactly what he's dishing out right now with this guy
True. I made this comment before watching this video. Seems like a shameless ad for Dave Asprey's "brain" supplement. Dave couldn't explain how his brain supplement actually works@@nobombs8784
@@nobombs8784no one's stopping you
I think one should eat natures portions of organ meats. How much liver is in a whole cattle? Use that ratio ...
Unless Thomas completely falls off the wagon and starts snorting Bisquick and doing IVs of Hawaiian Punch, I'm thinking he's gonna look a helluva lot better than this dude, at 50. This dude ought to be interviewing Thomas, tbh.
“So Thomas, how did you end up homeless and sleeping in this dirty alley?”
Thomas: “Bisquick is a helluva drug.”
are you kidding me? he's 50? yikes
Modafinil
Side Effects
Black, tarry stools.
blurred vision or other vision changes.
chest pain.
chills or fever.
clumsiness or unsteadiness.
dizziness or fainting.
increased thirst and urination.
mental depression.

Modafinil--typical rich-guy bubble-world thinking. Like we can just walk in and get a prescription for this at will. Gets tiring to hear things like this suggested by people that have channels to supply that most of us don't and won't ever have.
Coo coo for coco puffs
What about Armodafinil? Supposed to be next generation Modafinil...
Wow!! he's been on that drug for 23 years, almost every single day.
There is only 3.4 mg of B6 in a 16oz monster energy drink which is only 0.0034 of a gram. 0.100 of a gram is considered safe.
So the Monster has about 350 times More than .100
I@paulhailey2537 0.0034 is smaller than 0.1
Does Dave have a “Franks” sign on his right ear?
Not sure about this one 😵💫
This guy is 50? Sorry but he looks 70.
i think its just the gray hair
He started off absolutely terrible health wise
@will, he's been a Biohacker for 20 years or so...
Nah. If you were sorry, you wouldn't have said it. But yeah, you are sorry.
I seen smokers at 50 look younger
Ok 👍
I ended watching at Modafinil. It’s a drug (hard to get), not a supplement. A good diet will solve the problems modafinil is used for. 🤦♀️
Not the usual quality interview I expect from Thomas!! 😕
"Ice baths, especially after resistance training? Whoo... I have no idea what I was thinking with that. I must've been high, or just a post-trip haze, right? I'm so sorry, everybody! What you _really_ want to do is blow ozone up your butt, hook your genitals up to a car battery, while being grounded preferably with your bare feet in the dirt, and monitor your brainwaves while performing transcendental meditation while contemplating Provigil. Optionally, you can add Dexosyn and Focalin to take the benefits to the next level."
MODAFINIl with donepezil and uridine monophosphate and booom the limitless pill 💊 🎉
I thought I would try it and they split my order in half and shipped it four day apart and got me for shipping 12.95 twice. No way to treat a new customer in my opinion. Last order from me!
Modafinil helps me work night shift
While he is right on these supplements, not all of them should be supplements though; they should be in the diet.
Vitamin d is probably the exception, especially for people in low sunlight access. I eat 100g of beef liver almost daily with 500g salad. Doing that offsets the side effects. I also eat fish everyday.
NAC etc are all bonus supplements.
The yellow glasses 🤓😂😂
Any recommendations on how to sweet talk a doctor to prescribe modafinil? I asked mine and he won’t do it. Please and thank you.
Fire him.
you can order fladrafinil without a prescription
its the precursor and your body will turn it into modafinil (theres a chemistry explanation online)
@@TL....according to Wikipedia, fladrafinil is an unapproved drug in the US.
Complain of symptoms of narcolepsy- it’s often prescribed for that.
@@candacerushing6882 good point, but may be better not to use the term narcolepsy (annoys docs if they think we’re self-diagnosing). My doctor prescribed modafinil for me in large part because I was falling asleep in the car at stop lights. I did not need a narcolepsy diagnosis.
"he is not a longevity doctor" Was he talking about Attia?
He takes over a hundred supplements a day, so I knew he couldn't only pick 5, haha.
I cant believe this man is the same age as me and he's out here making a living giving advice on anti aging 🤣
On carnivore uric acid is no problem at all. Sounds like he has shares in the industry 😅
This is how I feel on carnivore exactly like he is describing everyone else is slow and dumb and my brain and body feel on a completely different level to other humans. I’ve never felt this much energy and clarity in my life and it’s everyday no sign of ever stopping. I’m 36 male and red meat especially beef is a superfood I use to think fruits and veggies were but they made me sick meat has healed me I will never eat that garbage plants veggies again.
If b6 clogs your b6 receptors for 1000 days wouldn't you develop some kind of b6 deficiency disease?
Not sure, I take advice from a guy that tells you to drink coffee and put butter in it, just saying.
I've read almost all of Dave Asprey's books and always found them interesting/somewhat insightful. However, between him recommending supplementing with trehalose (more recently, he at least warns those with C. difficile to avoid it) and now supplementing vitamin DAKE (i.e. supplementing with vitamin A), I'm done taking his advice seriously
Never supplement vit A?
@@jctrades7048 Check out Grant Genereux, his health journey and his free eBooks. He's the only person I've heard of who has successfully recovered from end stage Chronic Kidney Diease (CKD), chronic fatigue, eczema, etc. on an extremely low vit A diet (i.e. beef or bison, white rice, and black beans diet) for what is approaching 10 years. Recently, I heard there may be a second person who has also recovered from end stage CKD using a low vit A diet. According to the science, Grant should either be blind or dead. In recent blood tests, Grant's serum retinol is approaching 0 which indicates a severe vit A deficiency and yet he's thriving health-wise. The entire foundation on which vit A was proven to be an essential vitamin is based on the 1925 Wolback and Howe study. Grant has pointed out a potentially fatal flaw in the study design and he's trying to get researchers to redo it. i.e. the mice had plenty of vit A in their diet and they died prematurely due to vit A toxicity, not deficiency. Almost all vit A science is built upon this one study and if it turns out to be wrong, then the entire house of cards falls. Nowadays, I treat vit A like PUFA. I try to minimize it as much as possible but it's impossible to avoid it altogether. As someone who ate LOTS of dairy, eggs, red/orange/yellow fruits & vegetables, dark leafy greens, and beef liver/pork pate for many years, I figure I have at least a few years or perhaps a decade worth of vit A stored in my liver that gets liberated whenever my diet falls short.
Omg he looks older than me 😮 and I'm 4 years older and I've just been through cancer !!!! Longevity doctor , I dont think so.
He's not a doctor, and never claims to be. also he looked pretty good for his age before he got grey hair unfortunately.
Looks aren't everything
Nope to madafinol..... be careful, it's a ego boost , bit like sniff..... bad if you have fatigue. Its not a cure all...
i can smell steven seagal there ...
uric acid...good content
I cant live without magnesium
This guy just plugged all his own businesses. What a load of crap.
Dave looks great for a 65 year old.
Is that guy sponsored by big pharma?
Why would anyone Istanbul to Asprey? He is not aging well.
Wow, just looked it up..He's only 50yrs old. I thought he was mid sixties! 😕
Asprey is not doing something right, he looks older than he should. Older them me, and i'm in my 70's.
His face shape and not using botox, hair dyes, harsh products etc unfortunately
I appreciate Dave and his advice has been life changing. Thanks for featuring him. Probably he has bigger balls than most mainstream health advisors out there. Modafinil “vitamin" is amazing
Agreed. Many of the health influencers on on RUclips are just pussies regurgitating each other's "safe" rhetoric.
You’re above this
no hes not this is his MO lmfao
If he was, this video wouldn't exist.
yeah, it is rather disappointing that thomas has had so many charlatans on lately. it's better when he sticks to content that has a PMID to back it up.
Something is not right. -Hope he will be OK.
Vit M is my favorite - enough to get me going ! ;-)
He looks and sounds too strange for me to take his advice
Whoa...Dave. ..bro modanifil is legal meth.
I would if Dave would recommend taking Modafinil during breastfeeding or pregnant because of the increased oxygen absorbed by the brain.
Dave doesn't look a day older than 60.
4:41 B6
Dave is a little off to me as well but I do like his DAKE supplement.
Sounds very compromised.
Not into infomercials
Yes let’s listen to the 50 year old guy who looks 70 on longevity tips
lol so true, I thought he was an in decent shape for a 65 or 70 year old, then read he is only 50 haha.
I'm never the guy who blames it on genetics, but his genetics certainly play a part and he could have beat the hell out of himself for years before he got into longevity. Either the information checks out or it doesn't. Dr. Norton was just asked if it should matter if a trainer is in shape, and of course he said it shouldn't.
He's only 50??? WTF? I'm 58 and I look 10 years younger than him.
He had a terrible mold exposure experience when he was younger. I don't know if that affects his appearance, but yes he doesn't look like he is aging well. However, I remember listening to his podcast about some kind of lab work that says otherwise.
Dave looks old and tired.
modafinil has no noticeable benefit as far as I could tell
God this guy is just so sleazy... I can't even watch or listen to his BS anymore... I think Nicolas Cage would be the perfect actor to play this sleazeball in a infomercial.😂
Brooo… no one gaf about this dude.
My fat uncle using insulin for 30 years and eating cake everyday is more interesting.
Get someone like David pascoe. He is 60+ and looks fucking great
He should take something for his eyes so he doesn't have to wear sunglasses indoors
He sells those glasses they a blue blockers and he almost always wears them in interviews but usually includes the pitch
Infomercial
Dude is reading the script from his phone... 😅
What's Your script?
Its like cocaine! Yes indeed
