Hi Alex.... I like the "do you have time approach" very good. A smooth way to say I have already made up my mind that I want to photograph you, however the choice remains yours. Thats class my friend. Great images. 😎📷👍
I don’t think I’ve ever heard Alex talking about his passion and motivation for photography before, as he’s always showing a more “goofy” side of his own but it sure is refreshing. Love his photography and it’s great to know his take on it too. Great video!
Roman, this was a fantastic interview. Love Alex's demeaner and style. It didn't actually feel like an interview, just like a fun conversation filled with information. It's so interesting to me because I'm also very much a people person. My daughter always accuses me of talking to strangers on street corners. And, it's true. Do it all the time, just never considered adding some photography to it. Thanks again for bring these interviews to us! Have a rockin' day!
This is the first “walkie talkie” interview that I enjoyed! The questions posed were fantastic! I love how chill Alex’s approach to street is so relaxed - “Don’t set yourself up for failure” and I loved his ethical code/approach to street photography (be polite, ask about the subject and then ask). Thank you Roman - you’re not only a fantastic photographer but a wonderful interviewer too!
Great video. Roman, very good interview. Good questions. I like the way you interspersed Alex's images throughout the video. Alex's images are stunning. I like his style and demeanor. Very insightful. Good job.
Great interview with Alex! I can see he really thinks about his art of photography. This video has made me think about why i transitioned from digital to film photography, and I do think of my photography more of an art form and the joy it gives me as an art/creative outlet. Thanks Alex for sharing your viewpoint!
Amazing video, Roman. And great learning experience with Alex. I'll be following him very closely. I've always been quite shy and worried about rejection and confrontation. I've shot a few front portraits, actually without even asking the subject, and their faces tell they are not very amused about it. So with this approach about meeting the people or at least hear about what they do, and then if they agree take a picture is an eye opener. I will be applying this technique on my next street photography outing. Thanks for doing this, Roman. Please keep it up.
I love this series and this episode was so inspirational! I'm one of those shy introverts who wants to take street portraits, many thanks Roman for asking the questions for us ❤
Best video yet, Roman! A lot of my Minolta(s) film days memories when I used to just take "pictures" & not photographs in my career travels over the decades. Happy with digital , but having second thoughts if selling my film equipment for a steal was such a good idea. Not going to dwell on the past though.
Didn't look at the length of the video. Just noticed, that it got later and later the longer I watched.😂 45 mins, hot damn. I didn't know Alex before, but he seems like a chill dude with a very distinct style and perspective. I really liked the interview (and his photography)
What theme song is he humming at 43:42? It's right there on the tip of my tongue but I can't remember! Found it! It was, of course, from "Welcome to Jurassic Park" by the incomparable John Williams.
Roman, when you said before that you'll never ever shoot film for how inconvenience it is, I hope for the day that you'll come around that decision and just try it. Today is a celebration. Cheers!
I came close but I just don’t get the point of it objectively. I respect it, the art and the skill required of course. Hence the video. However keep in mind that I dont see photography as an art form for me. It’s just a way for me to document my travels and life.
Hi Roman and Alex. Really enjoyed the video. Interesting to see how Alex works and why. Ironic that Alex was attracted to the guys blue hair only to realise later he was shooting black and white. Great photos though. I bought a Yashicat many years ago but hardly used it. I never sold it because it was so beautiful, I think I may see if I can get some rolls of film and try again.
I like Alex' way to approach people. Such a nice guy and really not a typical street photographer by any means. It looks like there's a lot going on in Tokyo, but somehow I can't shake the feeling that the people there are very relaxed and you get the feeling that there are absolutely no unsafe areas or that you have to be afraid of being mugged... Is it so or is it deceptive ??
Outstanding video and as a film/ digital photographer I’m going to give this ago. Roman please give film a try and I’m sure you’ll be hooked. 👍 great video
Alex is such an antethesis of predatory street photographers (Bruce Gilden). Loved his attitude and philosophy. Gives me hope some one like me can do it too!
I presume that street photography is easier in Japan? People are probably more polite and welcoming, I presume. Would love to visit Japan. Great video!
Great vid and love these meet ups with other photographers but I will never understand why people opt for film in this day an age, I heard what he said but it still made no sense to me, each to their own I guess but it just seems so inconvenient and expensive these days
Loving vids! So deal is if I show my wife I can take good photos with my old Nikon D3000 with Tamron 17-50mm, I'm allowed to upgrade next yr was thinking a Fujifilm X-T5
I shoot digital and most of the time I store the SD cards and forget about them. It’s nice to go back and finally look at them later but then again I’m not an influencer or professional so it’s easier for me to sit on them. Lol
Duude those guys with blue hair is such a miss (kind of) shooting everything in B&W! Could've been a stronger image but it looks great nonetheless! Thanks for sharing guys keep it upppp
I wonder if the fear of AI is making a difference about people feeling comfortable having a stranger take their photo in that they are not sure what might be done with it or how it will be used.
Thanks so much Roman for having me on. All the questions and topics really let me talk a lot. 😅 Cheers bro see you again soon.
You're an inspiration Alex. Great to see you on Roman's channel

Great images. 😎📷👍
You've got yourself a new follower sir, nice work.
He is a great communicator. I’m surprised that he is not one of the top photography content creators online and he also has an impressive portfolio.
What a genuine and nice person Alex is! Thoroughly enjoyed the interview and the wonderful photography, thank you!
That was a masterclass!! Great interview and work!!!!
Great video! I had the pleasure of meeting Alex while in Tokyo last year. A very talented and genuine person.

WoW! Me encanta este tipo de videos.
Y Alex es un ejemplo a seguir para los que nos gusta la fotografía de calle y retratar a las personas.
Un saludo!

I love how Alex has completely adopted the Japanese speaking mannerisms. “Mmm Mmm Mmm” 😂 he’s awesome. Great Video 👏
I’ve followed Alex’s work for a while, because of Samuel’s stuff with him. Dude kicks ass.
Great video. Roman, very good interview. Good questions. I like the way you interspersed Alex's images throughout the video. Alex's images are stunning. I like his style and demeanor. Very insightful. Good job.
Love how candid you share all this info, that type of photography I have so stick in my head for a while.
Roman -- thanks for this great video on Alex.
In my opinion this is your best one yet. I instantly fell in love with Alex and his view on photography ! Thank you Roman !

Great episode! Both very educational and motivational! Loved it!
Awesome video. I always like hearing other photographers processes.
Fantastic interview and Alex is a very nice person and great photographer📷👍🏼
Excellent interview dude, given me a deeper respect for what you do, and a new photographer to follow.
I love this series and this episode was so inspirational! I'm one of those shy introverts who wants to take street portraits, many thanks Roman for asking the questions for us ❤
Followed Alex for some time, love his work!
The section over at 40:00 just watching the process of loading feels very soothing for some reason.

Love the content, and the interview. Very natural. Alex is really down to earth.
What a fabulous video Roman😊

Thank you!!

The moment he takes out his camera though 😃😍
This kind of videos, metting photographers is just inspiracion
Respect to Alex for not doing the typical street photographer introduction.
Guys this is really inspiring all I’d like to be able to do 🙌
Brillant video….thanks
Thanks!

umm, Roman, you are so much better than this guy. apologies to Alex, but it's true
Not at all impressed with this guy. 🤨
