The person represents the SJB is a lawyer. He argues like in a court room. That is why he is saying that if there was a scam, it must be proven at the court. That could be accepted in a country, in where there is rule of law in place. It is crystal clear that the majority of the SJB is from the UNP, they were in a deep sleep from 2015 to 2019. Mr. Nanayakkara clearly explained the need of this crucial hour.

I can’t believe 2 learned lawyers from 2 leading political parties couldn’t define Democracy in simple words which is supposed to be our foundation for our social, political & economic systems. Hope they both go back to their drawing boards and rethink what Democracy truly means for the people and our nation, why it is so important for humanity before we can expect answers how democracy can be implemented in our country. No wonder Democracy is mentioned only once in our constitution and has no explanation whatsoever what, why or how it can be implemented other than declaring a bunch of rights & privileges for groups of people without describing certain rights, role & responsibilities should be stitched together to achieve a Democratic, Socialist Republic fabric for the nation.

Exactly. They were also a major part of Chandrika's government while JVP was under Somawansa Amarasinghe. After that also they campaigned for Mahinda during his first run for presidency. JVP forgot all their principles when supported Chandrika Kumaratunga. They are indeed as corrupt as everyone else. However, NPP, the coalition has some good virtuous people like Harshana. My only worry is that they might have to experience the same fate some of the so-called Viyath Marga intellectuals had to face after canvassing to elect the joker Gota. JVP does everything from marketing to money collecting and all that just like any other political party. So, there is nothing different in them that would set them apart from everyone else. The only thing I have noticed is them JVP vouching to eradicate corruption.
Rubbish. If you bother to follow what NPP is doing, these are all very organised, structured, planned programs of work. Try to understand without Ifs and Buts. JVP ministers’ performance during those 14 months was exemplary, efficient and corruption free, it’s on record. Corruption is rampant in government even after the country became bankrupt. This can only be stopped by a government committed to eradicate corruption, that is only NPP.

The central bank is currently holding the funds related to the scam without releasing them to the buyers. Interestingly, no one has been arrested for this scam. This situation raises a pertinent question: If you steal a TV from someone, can you simply return it to the police without facing any punishment?

You tried hard to get your native language right, but the result was a charming accent, which certainly was not authentic. Never mind! I have seen AKD in Slough, via the Internet, although more than a month earlier, I had seen a notification saying that it was to be in Harrow. Where was it? I have yet to see a definitive statement saying that it was in Slough. Neither statement made absolute sense given that I have never been "West of Suez" in other words, confined to Asia for all my 75+ years. I'm actually four months older than Ranil, the masquerading President.
I agree that it was Harshana who came out of this best, although I have already submitted a comment, some hours ago, indicating that I'm hardly unbiased. Incidentally, this will become the third comment submitted by me today, the 16th of June 2024; the time now being 16:15.
Harshana is the only one of the three with whom I have communicated directly, well .... via WhatsApp. As for Vijitha; well, I have seen him interviewed in English; I have spoken to him via mobile phone, and WhatsApp, communicated via email, and met him recently. What I'm trying to say is that all is relative, and we'd better accept that.

That must be conceded, but Ranil's Batalanda was also real, and much less excusable, given that it was JRJ who set off the anti-Tamil pogrom, and then blamed the JVP for it.
Whatever way one looks at it, racism has been the undoing of this island.
And earlier yesterday, I wended my way to Bandarawela M.M.V.; a meeting of retired teachers where I integrate reasonably well, despite my not terribly satisfactory Sinhalese. Please take that also in relative terms..
I think that it is time I stopped, because my rumbling stomach reminds me that there's nothing relative about my hunger. My view is NPP is Gota II
Gota 2 is Sajith. Ranil has proven for 45 years that he is also more or similar to Gota. AKD brings 20 years of experience in parliament and a good track record. Most of NPP members aren't corrupted and have been in poilitical environment. Further, if there is anyone who comes close to AKD based on track record and poitical knowledge is Champika. If we need to change this political system npp needs to win. That way we can eradicate Ranil's UNP Rajapassa's pohottu who have destroyed the country togethee and to a certain extent SJB. If that happens that will pave the way for new political parties.
A lot of us like you had given up all hopes on politics and voting for ever and now have changed to try the NPP for one last time , final hope. Let's do it. PLEASE !!!
