In case this helps anyone (I have only been free from masturbation for maybe 3 or 4 months, free from porn for over a year, but I noticed that when I would fail and give in to the temptation of masturbation it was because I would refuse to pray. I knew I should pray when the temptation came, but I deliberately refused because I knew Christ would help me. So if this sounds familiar to any of you just continue to pray for Christ to help you seek him in those moments, continue to seek him all day every second. I know we all fail at seeking him all the time, but if you can at least remember Christ in these moments of temptation it will get easier.

Some of the arguments for it being sin fall flat, but what you're saying is probably the most solid one of all. The worst part of any sin is probably when you're refusing to make eye contact with God because you know he'll take the sin or even the desire away. He loves us fully and his way is always perfect.
This is very true, pray as often as you can and pray with the special intention of resisting the temptation of whatever sin you are struggling from. Pray especially to Mary, your Guardian Angel, and Saint Michael.
If you're going months without you should be able to rely on him and resist the metaphorical alcoholism of our time. A year without something for most would mean almost entire emancipation. Stay strong and do HIS will.

Keep yourself busy there are lot of great books, movies, games out there 4. Start slowly if it's too hard. In the beginning I did no fap for few weeks then few months and then a record 10 months. And after that my current longest streak of 2 years which I know I won't break till marriage. 5. Pushups everyday. Start from 10 everyday till you can do 50 then keep doing 50 a day. 6. Realize the good thinks that will happen. In 2 years my entire life changed. Everything got better. Everything. You feel 10 times smarter, 10 times stronger. 10 times more confident. Studies have found that one of the primary causes of porn use is the feeling of purposelessness. "I have nothing going on, I have nothing to do right now, might as well give myself a little dopamine hit and rub one out real quick." It is not necessarily always a bondage to lust or temptation. A good method for avoidance is to fill your life with purpose. All of us have that one thing we always wanted to do: that hobby to pursue, that stack of books we've wanted to read, that instrument we've always wanted to learn, etc. So I would say if you have that porn/fap struggle, throw yourself into those things. Pursue that hobby; read those books; learn that instrument. Journal. Do things that enrich your life with a sense of purpose, and if your porn problem is rooted in that sense of purposelessness, you may watch it fall by the wayside naturally.

Why the church needs to separate the repercussions of the sin from the thoughts that accompany it. Leviticus 15:16-18 states CLEARLY that masturbation is in the same category of uncleanness as sexual relations between husband and wife. So these catastrophic implications of masturbation are no better than the Nineteenth Century warnings about blindness, epilepsy, etc. God is more concerned about the heart of a person, their thoughts.than the act of masturbation in and of itself. Cultivate the DESIRE to receive his deliverance, so that when the time comes, you will be able to push through the fog of sexual drive to grab ahold of the lifelines He throws. I like that you mention the hopelessness, there’s men who feel hopeless that they won’t find a wife. This is my kryptonite. I do not have the faith right now to risk intoxicating dreams that could break down my walls. If there was a way to just... make it go away that would be great. It's miserable, but it's a bit like paying a protection fee. "Offer you can't refuse". I have a lot of bitterness about this. My dad took off when I was 8 for this very reason and when I was 10 I decided to never act like that. No one should have to live through that. When I first started to have lust, it showed up with guns and threats. I rolled over and said anything as long as you keep me away from another person and physical promiscuity. Never been at peace since then except for a 1 year period after I was saved when I was growing so fast in every area of life that I could ignore what I was doing, but then the easy perpetual growth stopped and it all fell apart.
The world needs to hear this message. You cannot save yourself. You need Jesus, and Jesus will work through your brothers/accountability partners. Reach out. Chances are your buddy also struggles and he will have been to ashamed to confess and will be glad to have a partner to keep him accountable

Alright. This is gonna be long but important. Masturbation is NOWHERE explicitly condemned in Scripture. All the verses this guy uses are verses that could mean that if interpreted in a specific way. However, funnily enough, the topic of masturbation is not even absent from Scripture. It's actually mentioned in Levitical Law (Leviticus 15). Here, the only penalty is being unclean, which is not a sin in the OT. In fact, there are several things in the OT that result in being unclean, but in no way are sinful. If you are masturbating because of lust, I would question whether it should be done, but without lust it is actually not condemned in Scripture. It has also been said that there are several health benefits to masturbation. Maybe you should search Scripture thoroughly before adding a rule to Scripture that isn't there.

All MEN have some issue or desire with their sexuality. I am talking about real men who desire women. Homosexuality is an abomination not Heterosexuality. That is correct - Lust isn't just sexual, it is consuming. It manifests itself most clearly through sexual sin, but is different from sexual drive or attraction. Sexuality is in fact a gift from God and may be used as a powerful tool to help us do great things. But when it becomes the focus, and not God, and the desire for sexual pleasure grows so powerful it is like you want to consume the other person sexually, that is what constitutes lust. Any act which derives from that feeling (m@sturbation being one) is an act of lust. But seeing a woman as attractive is not a sin, and may lead to a better and more loving relationship with them. I tend to agree with you, which is why it's important to recognize this and repent. We are wicked and unholy people. We must recognize this and repent and ask for forgiveness and strength to overcome it. Only by loving God can we resist sin and temptation. Only through him can we be forgiven. Strive to live holy lives and recognize when you make a mistake and take action to correct it and move forward. Repentance isn't a get out of jail free card, but you can be forgiven.

In case this helps anyone (I have only been free from masturbation for maybe 3 or 4 months, free from porn for over a year, but I noticed that when I would fail and give in to the temptation of masturbation it was because I would refuse to pray.
I knew I should pray when the temptation came, but I deliberately refused because I knew Christ would help me.
So if this sounds familiar to any of you just continue to pray for Christ to help you seek him in those moments, continue to seek him all day every second. I know we all fail at seeking him all the time, but if you can at least remember Christ in these moments of temptation it will get easier.

Some of the arguments for it being sin fall flat, but what you're saying is probably the most solid one of all. The worst part of any sin is probably when you're refusing to make eye contact with God because you know he'll take the sin or even the desire away. He loves us fully and his way is always perfect.
This is very true, pray as often as you can and pray with the special intention of resisting the temptation of whatever sin you are struggling from. Pray especially to Mary, your Guardian Angel, and Saint Michael.
If you're going months without you should be able to rely on him and resist the metaphorical alcoholism of our time. A year without something for most would mean almost entire emancipation. Stay strong and do HIS will.

2. Realize the life long permanent physical and mental damage you will do to yourself if you continue.
3. Find new hobbies don't let yourself get bored. Watch movies, series, read novels or play games in free time so you don't have time for other stuff. Even try to create your own content like I do. Keep yourself busy there are lot of great books, movies, games out there
4. Start slowly if it's too hard. In the beginning I did no fap for few weeks then few months and then a record 10 months. And after that my current longest streak of 2 years which I know I won't break till marriage.
5. Pushups everyday. Start from 10 everyday till you can do 50 then keep doing 50 a day.
6. Realize the good thinks that will happen. In 2 years my entire life changed. Everything got better. Everything. You feel 10 times smarter, 10 times stronger. 10 times more confident.

A good method for avoidance is to fill your life with purpose. All of us have that one thing we always wanted to do: that hobby to pursue, that stack of books we've wanted to read, that instrument we've always wanted to learn, etc. So I would say if you have that porn/fap struggle, throw yourself into those things. Pursue that hobby; read those books; learn that instrument. Journal. Do things that enrich your life with a sense of purpose, and if your porn problem is rooted in that sense of purposelessness, you may watch it fall by the wayside naturally.

Why the church needs to separate the repercussions of the sin from the thoughts that accompany it. Leviticus 15:16-18 states CLEARLY that masturbation is in the same category of uncleanness as sexual relations between husband and wife. So these catastrophic implications of masturbation are no better than the Nineteenth Century warnings about blindness, epilepsy, etc. God is more concerned about the heart of a person, their thoughts.than the act of masturbation in and of itself. There are way too many single Christians that make avoidance and freedom from this sin as their entire spiritual barometer. It isn't, no more than quitting smoking 🚭. If the spirit starts to not leave after you put on anointed music or quoted scripture, take the issue up the the "Courts of Heaven" for a restraining order. The key with all of this is that you ultimately need to have the WANT to stop doing/watching these things (as with any sin).
Pornography can’t be prevented with hardline filters, because ultimately you have the ability to find it if you want to (although they do help prevent things from inadvertently popping up). Because of that, accountably programs are incredibly effective for helping break its hold.
Masturbation, however, is ultimately up to you. At the end of the day, there is no accountability program you can install in yourself. You and God are the only witnesses. And that’s the key. The temptation of masturbation has no power in the presence of God’s power. If you call on him, you WILL be delivered. So, the only option the enemy has is to attack your will to call on Him. Cultivate the DESIRE to receive his deliverance, so that when the time comes, you will be able to push through the fog of sexual drive to grab ahold of the lifelines He throws. Evil has no power in His presence. It can only flourishes when you refuse to dwell in His presence.

I have a lot of bitterness about this. My dad took off when I was 8 for this very reason and when I was 10 I decided to never act like that. No one should have to live through that. Masturbation is NOWHERE explicitly condemned in Scripture. All the verses this guy uses are verses that could mean that if interpreted in a specific way. However, funnily enough, the topic of masturbation is not even absent from Scripture. It's actually mentioned in Levitical Law (Leviticus 15). Here, the only penalty is being unclean, which is not a sin in the OT. In fact, there are several things in the OT that result in being unclean, but in no way are sinful.
If you are masturbating because of lust, I would question whether it should be done, but without lust it is actually not condemned in Scripture. It has also been said that there are several health benefits to masturbation.
Maybe you should search Scripture thoroughly before adding a rule to Scripture that isn't there.

All MEN have some issue or desire with their sexuality. I am talking about real men who desire women. Homosexuality is an abomination not Heterosexuality. That is correct - Lust isn't just sexual, it is consuming. It manifests itself most clearly through sexual sin, but is different from sexual drive or attraction. Sexuality is in fact a gift from God and may be used as a powerful tool to help us do great things. But when it becomes the focus, and not God, and the desire for sexual pleasure grows so powerful it is like you want to consume the other person sexually, that is what constitutes lust. Any act which derives from that feeling (m@sturbation being one) is an act of lust. But seeing a woman as attractive is not a sin, and may lead to a better and more loving relationship with them.

I tend to agree with you, which is why it's important to recognize this and repent. We are wicked and unholy people. We must recognize this and repent and ask for forgiveness and strength to overcome it. Only by loving God can we resist sin and temptation. Only through him can we be forgiven. Strive to live holy lives and recognize when you make a mistake and take action to correct it and move forward. Repentance isn't a get out of jail free card, but you can be forgiven.
