I have been streaming for 2 years and now making some money with a lovely community going, and it’s so unbelievably frustrating for my camera to disconnect during stream, it happens more often than not and made me almost want to quit streaming.
Great video. Have just made the jump to a5100 from my webcam (on its way) and was gonna order a cam link but after seeing this I have ordered the soomfon this morning!!
I just bought the exact same one for $0.50 cents! My question is.... can I use it to hook my phone to an HDMI device such as a smart TV or monitor? Using a usb-c to usb-c cord
Hello. I purchased the Soomfon and using a Sony a6400. My screen recording software is Screenflow and I can’t seem to produce a quality video recording. I have the camera set to 4K however the quality I’m getting is only good for 720p. Any idea why that is. Your video quality looks awesome! Great video by the way.
Have you got it plugged into a usb 3 port? And also using the included usb cable. You could also try it with obs to confirm you can get a 4k signal and that’s it’s not screenflow causing the issue.
@@thefullsetup You saved the day. I foolishly plugged the capture card to a hub not realizing this was causing the issue. The I followed your tip and plugged it directly to the USB 3.0 in my computer and voila. Problem solved. Thank you so much!!
I've got that Soomfon, and I get intermittent stuttering using an AX53 camcorder outputting 1080p 50fps (PAL). Ends up falling to 25fps, and it may recover back to 50fps, or it may not. Does this happen for you? Doesn't make sense, as the CPU and GPU are very low utilization. Any ideas please?
Hey buddy UK here....got this yesterday for my a6500 and mac....I used QuickTime and created new movie recording but the capture output file is always showing as 1080p resolution....have you managed to record a 4k video on your Mac using QuickTime? Can you try and let me know if you do? You will need to click display the inspector window in QuickTime menu bar to see what you get when you record...cheers mate.😊
@@thefullsetup I have a cannon powershot G7x 2 and I was curious cause elgoato dosent support it also can this turn my camera into a webcam and will it get rid of the annoying 30 min record time?
@@BunJaminG if the camera die not work with elgato capture cards which mean it doesn’t have clean hdmi output, then it will not work with any capture card.

The question I have is, does it upscale to 60fps (1080) on the fly, or is that through the software?

I only seem to get 720p in quick time I would recommend using obs to get the best out of this card

my question is dose it work with cannon cameras? and can you use it to record videos?
As long as the camera supports clean hdmi out it will work with this capture card and you can record in obs or any other capture software with it 😃
