Be prepared to be spending a lot of time to swap them all out then.
I've been arguing about this system for years. It's the optimal system for both electrical bikes and cars. But it MUST be decided internationally, so that a battery format may be agreed on. This would allow the spread of the system worldwide, and separate vehicle factoring from battery factoring, thus allowing the growth of new more advanced batteries, and leaving vehicle building companies to focus on their brand and models, without wasting time and resources devising 1 battery model for each new bike/car.
Also, an international decision on battery formats would allow models that could be easily opened, cleaned up, and reused, drastically reducing waste and ecological footprint.
Additionally, with the advance of technologies, the outer case format could be maintained while the core tech of the battery could change, just like it has happened with AA and AAA electronics batteries.

@@Dingbobber And THAT is the main problem. But it could be possible if the EUA, or(and) European Union created a development fund for car+battery companies to develop SPECIFICALLY THAT. If the money injected on that is big enough, they would bite.
This means that this has to be open standard without any licencing fees. This type of open system is good for areas without big temperature changes, but this couldn't work everywhere. Also this doesn't have grid integration or batteries with high enough performance.
I see the potential in this for long distance option for Telsa and this would be a light lift for gas stations to add or convert.
I can't wait for a similar system to be available for cars. With maybe 6-8 battery packs to swap.
X-Bus 1 in Germany will use a similar system.

I've been thinking this is how cars should be battery wise ever since I saw "The 5th Element" and the spaceships used a similar system.
Why does that scooter have only one battery? In other RUclips videos I’ve seen about Gogoro battery swapping, the scooters always have two batteries. Is this one battery as powerful as two of the other batteries? Still, seems like two would always be better as two would always give you twice the range of one.

The one battery model is slower than those with two, for people who just ride around the neighborhood or short trips, mainly to replace those super old scooters of mid-age housewives who only go to the market every morning lol
I hope battery tech improves as fast as storage devices do.

What will happen is you will have a nice battery that you took care of. Holds the charge nicely for days and you’ll wind up getting someone’s crap battery that won’t hold a charge or turns red within a mile and now your nice new battery is gone forever

@nasi kuning the battery pack is the most important part. How many cell phones have you had where the battery begins to deteriorate and you start at 100. Then 41. Then 3. And 0 within minutes!
Problem is always theft. Scooters, ebikes, escooters all of these get stolen in my city. What if you are renting a scooter and it gets stolen?

Gas station insurance is not entertaining a charging bank of any size.
This system sucks, what if I wanna swap my battery and all the batteries are charging? Then I can't swap, then i need t drive further to a other station in the hope that everything is charged. And what will happen with all the batteries that can't charge to a 100%? This will become a big big problem also for the electricity network, that netowrk can't handle this. Please ooh please keep it with engines just put some fuel in it and we are good to go.

You do realize these scooters are already heavily used in Taiwan. None of the problems you mentioned exist and the population density is extremely high. Taiwan has the highest amount of 2 wheeled motor vehicles per person in the world. Gogoro has the highest market share out of any manufacturer in Taiwan.
even if every battery is charging and not fully charged you're still able to swap. you just don't get a fully charged one

then you would wait until the battery that closest to be fully charged is done. Still less time the charge the buttery from pretty much 0 to 100%.
