@@dominogooralsky taiwan has their own languange even tho many migrated to taiwan due to communism, taiwan has their own culture. its like calling poland russia, because russia wants to be USSR again.
This would've worked in America in the 50s or 60s. Hear me out, I think the main difference is diversity in USA today. Taiwan and Japan are 97% Chinese and 97.8% Japanese respectively. Crime is practically non-existent in both countries compared to America. If you can think of a better correlation-causation to explain this difference let me know.
Interesting take on that. Homogeneus race is the source? Could petty crimes not have sever enough penalty in the US? I think this can get to be a really deep rabbit hole.
@@BeatTheBush I think he's saying that nobody would swap out the battery, they'd just ride to another scooter and get on that one when the scooter they are riding gets low.
@BeatTheBush actually yea race/ethnicity is one of the issues. When you have a country so diverse with new immigrants coming in all the time, it's hard to instill or cultivate a "common culture" where everyone treats each other respectfully and looks out for one another (since every race/ethnic group is going to have their own set of customs and traditions). Another big issue is obviously education
For a rental this is okay. For a car I own, I wouldn't want to swap out battery and risk trading for an older or defective battery with 30% less capacity.
I'm pretty sure the current battery swaps for cars have built in diagnostics to detect charge capacity and battery damage. So the station won't swap with a defective battery.
Pretty similar to propane tank exchange I would think. If something is wrong with your tank, just swap it and let Blue Rhino deal with the problem. Or like a scratched Redbox DVD... exchange for another one and not your problem.
If you own a car with battery swap tech, you have to think of never really owning the battery. You just rent it. The cost of each battery swap will bake in the battery degradation costs and the cost to have the infrastructure to do the exchange.
I hope that this kind of feature and mode transportation cam be introduced here in the philippines, the only downside in our country is that there too many thieves here that is why I think that the company would never launch this in our country. this would be really helpful any terms of money saving for commuters. It really is a shame that we cannot try this. I hope this will come true in the future and all thieves can just stop stealing for the better of the country. we have electric bikes here but it is still not enough for this kind of advance feature.

Huge disadvantage is that one needs ot be focussed during the drive while on public transport one can do some reading, active listening etc. I remember in 2019 the electro scooter hype. basically 90% of companies went bust and 2 survived.

a lot of tech items don't make sense for the US, simply because we are way too large geographically with very low population density. in the case of this electric scooter, the range is too low for how far away everything is in the US, we don't have enough population density to make it profitable, and also we have much higher crime than the nation of taiwan, so those scooters will get stolen or vandalized immediately.

Sooo many battery stations. It's so cool to see it so widely used.
