- A Sicilian dessert from the town of Catania to commemorate its patron saint, Saint Agatha, a third century Christian martyr. Before her martyrdom, her breasts were cut off in punishment for rejecting the advances of the Governor Quintianus. Because of this, she is traditionally depicted in paintings holding a plate of her breasts. The dessert was made to resemble this. This version of the minne di sant'Agata is made with a short crust shell, filled with ricotta, chocolate chips, and candied fruit, glazed with icing, and topped with a candied cherry.

They look wonderful. Thank you for the translation. I thought my High School Italian was letting me down when I saw the recipe title on a different site.
The recipe title is definitely confusing if you don't understand the backstory!
Looks delicious and you make baking look so effortless. I love the rolling pin you were using! I would like to see a video on making the candied orange peel.
Oh my word!! I LOVE being Catholic, but we must appear so weird to the rest of the world sometimes.
That's for sure!! 😂😂
This all seems quite morbid yet delicious :D Thank you for this recipe, I had no idea about this pastry.
Yes, morbid indeed! 😆
Oh yes anything having to do with the Vatican and the Cat-a-holic church is morbid 😖 but the tiny pastries look wonderful and I'm Italian and I've had them over in Italy before ❤
LOL but the desert looks wonderful ❤
It's delicious! Definitely amusing though 🤣
All of the measured ingredients were for 1/2 a recipe, right?
Yes, I made a half recipe in the video.
