really cool fish and crustaceans here is one i would not put in a community tank ( but should check out crown of thorns starfish they look creepy cool but they kill coral and are poisonous

I’m not sure about that specific species of starfish but I know that you are not supposed to take them out of the water. To them it’s like someone holding your head under water and making the breath in the water.

When i was a kid i saw a seastar with like 16ish legs at an aquarium, i can't remember exactly, but i know it was in the teens. I did a google search, and apparently some species can have up to 40 legs.

I believe that when a starfish grows a lot of legs it reproduce itself. Dividing itself into 2 starfishes
Starfish can reproduce both sexually and by binary fisssion like you are describing. However when they reproduce asexually they are essentially cloning themselves rather than making a genetically different baby star.
