I would suggest adding more structure to give the snapper more places to hide from the sun and the ability to come out of the water and bask. They don't always need it, but it help prevent any issues and help them feel more secure and calm down over time.

And some water plants for decor and shade, hiding and structure. It adds to the health and absorbs nitrogen, Middle island of basking log, plants and you will have the best pond. D a 24 hour fresh fish trap video and toss ALL you catch in there for them.
Agreed but he will have to add a lot more gravel so the plants can root and the structures stay secure
@@suave__ I love Chris but hes never made a tank that a token layer of sand and a rock wasn't good enough. I don't know why because a little scaping will take his tanks and videos to the next level not just healthier for the fish
Relocate the turtle. Bigger he gets the bigger fish you will need so he dont eat.
You need more hiding places for smaller fish in there. More plants, more roots (add more crawfish/ shrimp and plecos to keep the water clean). Then the Ghar can stay in there.

Bobby from bass fishing productions catches blue, orange, purple, white, and multi colored craws. In the canals and abandoned spillways there in florida. Im sure if you set up fishtrap with cat food, you will catch some colored craws

I would keep the turtle in the pond as far as new fish with him as you had said in previous videos and I do agree completely that smaller fish are harder to see in it i would use him as a motivation to catch or buy larger pond friends for him.
Relocation would be a good idea. Turtle will eat big and small fish. It’s definitely sick. It will eat the gar.

That turtle will eat everything in the pond once it gets a little bigger. They are VERY aggressive so I would cut your losses now and rehome it cause it will eventually kill everything else in the pond

The turtle is awesome. But they are super dirty.
You already did ? Godzilla!! He is great in the pond just get monster fish. Retail Cat,Peacock Bass,Largemouth Bass and some big Bluegill, Shinners ,minnows ,also get a couple Potted Lilly's for some shade for them.
You could catch some native Mollies they're real cool Sailfins.

Just remember that the snapping turtle is going to get about 1/2 the size of the pond.
However if you start training him now you could actually get in there with him and he will play with you.
I had some and I trained them to eat from my hand and they never bit me once and I would get in the water with them and they would swim up to me and climb on me and just chill. I could pet their chins, belly, and touch their faces, I could kiss them too (obviously I scrubbed after words)
They loved getting bathes. It's good to get the turtle's shell clean.

Keep him. Snapping turtle looks beautiful in there. Just give spot for him to get out of water when he wants but not near the edges cause he will escape given the chance. But I, as well as others I'm sure, would love to see him in future videos like if you feed him or to just see his progress or say hi.

You should definitely keep the gar in either the pond or a grow out tank, and you should definitely keep the Godzilla turtle in the pond, and I love RUclipsrs with snapping turtles, but I never really get to them. Love your vids from Chicago, have a good one!

Keep the snapping turtle in his own little 40 gal or 55 gal tank with water half way filled. Nice rock set up, a place for the turtle to get some heat use like a 75w light for 3-5 hours a day so the turtle can bask in the light.

The blue Crawfish is a "Florida Procambarus Alenii". I had them in a pound, they attacked everything else. By the way, it needs some special Leaves for Food and shalter. And the Snapping Turtel, will eat all the other things in that pound.

Hey fish guy Chris, you should keep the turtle I think it would be cool to have a turtle on the channel with the fish. Maybe you could build it a little enclosure next to the pond going into the pond for the turtle or something but you should definitely keep it ❤🐢

You need to put in a couple of clay caves or some PVC Pipe sections that are weighted down for the crayfish, or they could end up killing one another.
Put him in Jacks fresh water pond, the fish in there are big enough! Or rehome him.
If you had anywhere to put these fish some of my personal favorites are bird wrasse who are very very active or a Midas blenny which perches and is a mid water active fish

Platties and mollies breed very quickly. They would provide an excellent ecosystem for the pond in feeding the gar. Give them more structure and they should be fine. Create a new pond for the snapper or give him to your friend
