you can make these colors by mixing the old set colors Hemp rope: -1 parts skeleton bone -2 parts desert yellow -1 part army green Combat fatigue: -2 parts skeleton bone -1 part army green -1 part monster brown Venom wyrm: -2 parts army green -2 parts desert yellow -1 part necromancer cloak Cultist robes: -1 part necromancer cloak -1 part army green dirt spatter is almost the same as oak brown, and drake tooth is close enough to skeleton bone for highlights
Thx Pete, learn new stuff each time. I also learned after following that link for the wet palette I will be sticking with the wet paper towel and plastic container $$$$$$ LOL
Would love to see a couple of series of videos on the various regiments in conflicts such as Napoleonic Wars, War of Spanish Succession, Seven Years War etc
Hey Pete, did you use a static grass applicator for the basing? Or just drop it onto some PVA without an applicator? Curious how you got the great finish on the base.
I used Army green spray primer, to save some time. Followed by a wash of what I call "GI Juice" which is, 3 parts Militry shader 1 part strong tone 1 part medium.
Any chance you could paint some Mechanicum (such as a Thallax) in the colors of either a 30k Mechanicum Knightly Vassal (House Atrax or House Malinax in particular) or in the colors of a Forge World such as Xana 2 or Cyclothrathe? There is almost nothing on this online, even less on RUclips and I am trying to nail down a coherent theme for my Mechanicum army. Any help would make me sing and dance. Love your stuff man.
Now I've got the original Army Painter Mega Paint Set from before the expanded the range, so part of me is disappointed at how few of those colours you've used. On the other hand, this video really shows off how much more subtle the colours they've added to the range are - especially when you compare this to your original Bolt Action US tutorial from a few years back. I'm going for 1942 uniform, so need a slightly different colour combination, but I'll be looking at combining your two painting videos to put something nice together - cheers :)

I’ll try on one mini your painting scheme to know if it’s close to the real us colors. Thank you for your tutorials Peter
Thanks for the knowledge. Mine came out great. First model I finished in 30 years.
Would love to see a couple of series of videos on the various regiments in conflicts such as Napoleonic Wars, War of Spanish Succession, Seven Years War etc
Thanks for the painting tutorial on the new US Infantry. Waiting on mine to arrive soon.
Superb! I just got a box of these myself and will have to try my hand at these colors.
Sorry, also meant to say what a good job you have done.
Even got the green shovel handle, most get that wrong.

Kobolt skin + flesh wash + pale corpse for highlight. I wouldn’t have tried that, but the result was good!
Star Wars Legion Fleet Trooper next please.
Nice paint job and good video dynamic on the different paint stages.
Thank you for painting the HBT trousers green, been seeing waaayy too many folks painting them brown and it’s been triggering me hardcore lol
Why?
This is a strange idea for a tutorial for bolt action, but perhaps showing how to make a great coat out of green stuff and mould it onto a figure!
A+ work my friend!
Thank you bro really needed this

For future reference you might like to know that the soles of US Army boots were black rubber.
Not hugely important but adds to the look.
Lets just say he's been running through some very thick leather brown coloured mud ;)

Are all these colours available in a set?
Just bought the Band of Brothers starter set.
Band of brothers colours would be different to these if you've seen the series
What paint set do you recommend i buy if I just starting out bolt action?
Thanks!
If i had seen this 4 months ago, I would have recommended you have a look at some of the Vallejo military sets.
@@JimmyCrawford Ah thanks but ya I just the army paint mega set I hope I made the right call.

No way the third base is hemp rope, looks like a completely different color?
It's definitely hemp rope, is your paint looking like a different shade?
