[Pre-Chorus: Jon Stockman] We are a broken wrung We both compose the wreckage [Pre-Chorus: Jon Stockman] We are a broken wrung We both compose the wreckage [Chorus 1: Ian Kenny] There ain't nothing you can say to prove That I held the rope that let you down As we crash into the waves and drown This isn't possible [Verse 1: Ian Kenny] So if there's any doubt I will throw you a line Excuses, excuses Don't ever remind me How it is and always will be [Pre-Chorus: Jon Stockman] We are a broken wrung We both compose the wreckage [Chorus 1: Ian Kenny] There ain't nothing you can say to prove That I held the rope that let you down As we crash into the waves and drown This isn't possible [Verse 2: Ian Kenny] You've been this way before Shadows here all know you I don't know what you've had Or what it is inside you But we are all around you We are all around you We are all around you If love comes first Maybe our lies will dissolve Young fruit still not bruised Hey maybe, just maybe We all made our moves And mine could have helped you I could have helped you [Pre-Chorus: Jon Stockman] We are a broken wreck We've both got piles of regrets [Pre-Chorus: Jon Stockman] We are a broken wreck We've both got piles of regrets [Chorus 2] There ain't nothing you can say to prove That I held the rope that let you down As we crash into the waves and drown This isn't possible This is impossible
I bought Asymmetry the day it came out and I'm here on 9.17.21 to say The Refusal is one of the most astounding tracks in my collection. How do you write this kind of thing? Ingenious in every way.
And here I am, cannot get into this band because they're lacking the scream parts. It's ok from the instrumental point of view, but I find metal music without extreme vocals much less interesting. Googled heaviest songs of this band, listened to this one and well, I am disappointed. Not my cup of tea apparently.
this song is so incredible
[Pre-Chorus: Jon Stockman]
We are a broken wrung
We both compose the wreckage
[Pre-Chorus: Jon Stockman]
We are a broken wrung
We both compose the wreckage
[Chorus 1: Ian Kenny]
There ain't nothing you can say to prove
That I held the rope that let you down
As we crash into the waves and drown
This isn't possible
[Verse 1: Ian Kenny]
So if there's any doubt
I will throw you a line
Excuses, excuses
Don't ever remind me
How it is and always will be
[Pre-Chorus: Jon Stockman]
We are a broken wrung
We both compose the wreckage
[Chorus 1: Ian Kenny]
There ain't nothing you can say to prove
That I held the rope that let you down
As we crash into the waves and drown
This isn't possible
[Verse 2: Ian Kenny]
You've been this way before
Shadows here all know you
I don't know what you've had
Or what it is inside you
But we are all around you
We are all around you
We are all around you
If love comes first
Maybe our lies will dissolve
Young fruit still not bruised
Hey maybe, just maybe
We all made our moves
And mine could have helped you
I could have helped you
[Pre-Chorus: Jon Stockman]
We are a broken wreck
We've both got piles of regrets
[Pre-Chorus: Jon Stockman]
We are a broken wreck
We've both got piles of regrets
[Chorus 2]
There ain't nothing you can say to prove
That I held the rope that let you down
As we crash into the waves and drown
This isn't possible
This is impossible

2:00-4:20 is INSANE 🔥🔥🔥. Their guitars really sound like living beings. Love it
Karnivool never disappoints. This album is 6 years old already damn
So ahead of its time
Impressed just heard of this band today
Love the melodic singing
This is huge !
I love the real Mars Volta vibe to this track!
I heard this song on MC metal music and just fell in love with the song
Really underrated song noone talks about. I'm not much into metal but this is one their best imo
Tight song.
100% love the John Theodore influence for this entire album. If you know, you know.
It´s baffling to me how I am able to listen to music about abuse without realizing that I have become the vulnerable one.
Love the sound of this record, awesome
This is birthing with nu metal and progressive metal.
Getting a mastodon vibe from the instrumental side of things
I'm here cuz of bill burr. And I can't get over that drummer. And I'm normally not into this genre. Gz
Lol, me too, and im a drummer. Ive been learning some of their songs but the heavier ones are super hard
Bill burr is awesome! When did he bring up Karnivool?
C harmonic Minor with B tonic???? this is pure evil.
Love Karnivool but wish there weren't the scream parts in the vocals. It takes away from the magical vibe of Karnivool.
