I find it really odd that Marines only get trained on a specific weapon. Im an infantryman for the Canadian Forces and they train us on everything. Rocket launchers, grenade launchers, machine guns as well as the C7 rifle. Makes more sense to me that way.
They're trained on the M16 first and foremost so everyone knows how to use it and maintain it properly. Simply because he has a machine gun is no excuse.
