Do you know the best thing about a model train hobby? Your wife knows exactly where you're at and what you are spending money on. "Oh, he's out in the garage tinkering with his trains" or "Oh, he's on the computer shopping for trains".

This engine is stunning in every possible way what an amazing piece really glad you got yours and enjoying it I can't get over the glass the shine the sounds this is a real one of the great engines made an O scale and the prototype is 1 of the great engines made in real life
The high gloss effect is absolutely stunning and I think you're right I'm looking forward to more of them the new big boy is gonna be the glossy excursion version gonna try to get that 1 as well... But the no mistake about the class a is absolutely a magnificent masterpiece Lionel visionline

While not a fan of the shiny engines, you are correct in that Lionel does not make a lot of them. Still saving my penny’s to pick this one up. I wish Lionel would spread out when they released their engines. Everything seems to come out at once. I really enjoy your unboxing videos as we seem to order the same items. As others have mentioned, I would like to see a layout video.
So $2100 here and $3500 , if he buys all the add in packs, for his rocket set...kinda obscene that was a half of a deposit for a new 3 bedroom house in 1985 in nj

Hi Ben. I just got the same Visionline Excursion version Class A for Christmas. I feel your enthusiasm over this model. I've had the N&W Legacy Y6b for some time and I just sent off my 2006 N&W J class for a full Legacy upgrade with whistle steam, etc. When it comes back to me, I will have the N&W "Big Three" with Legacy. The one thing I still wish Lionel would do with their Legacy system is give us independent volume control over the bell, whistle/horn, chuff sound and general locomotive sounds. DCS gives us three of the four and it's really a great feature. The sounds however on these Legacy models is unbeatable as long as the whistle is prototypical. Like you, I love my Visionline Class A and am sort of afraid to touch it too without cotton gloves!!! LOL
