I feel so privileged to have this accidently pop up on my youtube search. This story needs to be shared and viewed by the world. It reflects a similar story with all refugees.
The story makes me so proud of these two hmong parents who enabled their kids to be successful. They made huge personal sacrifices and held high standards of integrity for themselves. I would be interested to find out what their kids are doing now and learn more about their family's legacy.
All parents dream of this type of success. What was the secret to the success of these specific parents? I hope to hear more from these two great hmong parents. There is so much value in this short story that drives me to want to know more. If the family members are reading this, please reach out to me.

It was an honor and privilege to listen to this story. Thank you so much for sharing it. Sadly, these kind of stories will soon be lost after our parent's generation. If today's children don't document and archive experiences like these, it will be lost forever. This story and many like it is the essence of almost every Hmong family of that time. Also, a huge commendation for the production team. You captured this couple's story beautifully and great job on the editing.

I heard so many different stories and experiences from different perspectives that happened during this time period…my parents were either very young or born during this time, they most only mentioned life in refugee camps and barely talked about their past. It’s nice to be able to hear more stories.

Your plight was very similar to that of all our parents. My Mom and Dad were probably 5 years older than you two. We, too, arrived in San Francisco in the winter of 1980 but ended up in Michigan and had been here since.

@@nangkue8371 Not all the lee in Laos came from this brother …. Only my lee family tree …. we trace and find our roots back to China. My lee clans still have 400 family in south China. Most of all the Hmong people came from China long ago. That old great great great grandpa he mentioned in the beginning of the video is our Ancestor from China. I'm a 6th Generation Lee in our family.
