John Gibbons is a registered Osteopath, Lecturer and Author and is discussing how to assess (and then subsequently manipulate) the spinal motion of the thoracic spine using Dr Lovett (1903) and the laws or principles of Fryette (1918), John also manipulates with a HVT / Grade 5 technique to the thoracic spine and rib cage. Some of these techniques can be taught but only to skilled therapists and manipulations plus more is taught on the Spinal course at Core Elements in swindon. The technique demonstrated is called a thoracic thrust or an AP thrust.

Thanks - regards JG
Agreed!
Dripping
Im sure he meant to say its not the only way
@@JohnGibbons hum tá
I need that done to me so bad right now.
I know how you feel, regards JG
Me too
Ok dude, sure
You can do it alone. Just sit on the floor, on a yoga matress, and fall on your back with your arms cross like the man on the video. If it doesn't crack try not to round your back.
I'll blow your back out
Dr Gibbons is amazing teacher. I have his books as physical therapist, use his techniques in my practice
Thats very kind, regards JG
@@JohnGibbons
I like the fact that there is NO RUSH
Does he have books for laymen to try at home? My neck's in need of a neck crack lol
are physical therapists licensed to manipulate the spine?
Meu fisioterapeuta fez isso em mim e foi alívio imediato! Estalou tudo, deu um medo, mas no fim foi fenomenal! Profissional experiente, delicado e preciso é outro nível!
Непросто найти сегодня опытного физиотерапевта.

This is so incredible.. I just started going to a chiropractor and its amazing how beneficial its been.
Thats great, regards JG
From a PT who just found this and utilized it effectively, THANK YOU! Lower T spine has always been a difficult manipulation for me, this technique just opened up a new chapter in my practice.
Thats great to know, regards JG
where do u live that u can do manipulation as a PT? i am a PT in germany and we r not allowed to do that here
@@onephalley U S A!
By PT, he meant "Physical Therapist," not Personal Trainer 😂
7.9 million views. Nice work, John. That's something to be damn proud of
Thanks - one video has 28,000 million views....regards JG
@@JohnGibbons 😳 That's insane!!! I'd love to collab and make some dry needling videos. I trained with the one of the pioneers in the states, Joe Donnelly
The problem with this practice is there's not enough people doing it.
Thanks for the comments, regards JG

Sounded like it felt great!
Oh! My back feels better from here ❤
I've had this adjustment. I prefer manual manipulation over using tools. The only tool I like that works for the whole spine with the longest hold is the atlas orthogonal, it is amazing!
Thanks for sharing, regards JG
It feels good just watching it.
I agree - regards JG
random gym bro cracking my back before benching: “step aside”
Thats great, regards JG
My Chiro does that for me and it feels so good to get that release!!
Exactly, feels great to have it done and helps a lot, regards JG
I would never ever let anyone mess with my spine.
I agree unless they are trained as on day you might need someone like me - regards JG
this guy put the boy's spine in place
Thanks for the comments and not quite true, regards JG
Looks a lot better than the lying down method
They all have a place - some prefer this method, regards jG
I hate the one where you have to lie on your side...it is so harsh. This way is awesome!!!
“It’s my preferred way”
Doc, we “prefer” not to be paralyzed😂
Extremely are to be paralysed from any of the manipulations especially to the thoracic spine, regards jG
That’s exactly where I need it!
Me to, regards JG
Finally a teacher in the art of being a chiropractor instead of ring dingers whatever they are… 😌
Very kind, I am actually an osteopath - regards JG
Yes it cracked at 0:39 - 0:40. Listen carefully! He’s part of the class and expects a cavitation and so won’t suddenly jump up and go “Wow!” And wide eyed. I find not too many people react on any cavitation except maybe interest, unless it’s the first time. After all; it doesn’t hurt does it!?
Yes I demonstrated on him as part of the teaching class and you are right as not much of a reaction - regards JG
My spine got straight after watching this video
Thanks 👍
Debatable but if thats what you think then go with it...regards JG
That's being a professional! Blessings!❤

I'm 5'7'', skinny as a rail, and I can compress someone's spine twice the size of me very easily.
Subject cups the back of their neck with both hands.
Elbows down, neck down.
I wrap their arms above the elbow, and squeeze.
It works 80% of the time for me to decompress their spine.
I'm flat chested, (male) and I use this technique quite frequently to give people relief.
I have to ask though.
Why the towel?
Footnote: I am unable to if I cannot wrap my arms around the subject.
If I can't interlock my fingers... Deal is off lol.
Technique should only be done by someone trained in spinal manipulation, regards JG
If you have to ask then naturally you dont know - it is to specify the vertebral level, as without it you are simply guessing, regards JG
They always have trouble cracking that part of my back
Same for me, regards jG
We did this all the time to each other in high school
A lot of people do but they got no idea what effect it has, regards JG
Should be a disclaimer on this....do NOT try this at home LOL
There should indeed, regards JG

Most of my videos are taken professionally - this one was from the classroom - its still ok though, regards JG
I need you, doctor Cracker. My backs hurts.
A lot of people say that...regards JG
What you need is stronger muscles. Not a quack "doctor" who will litterally ruin your body.
@John Gibbons bullshit, without chiropractic I wouldn't have been able to walk after my injury, but then again their are people like you that think so small that they end up saying absolutely idiotic things, use maybe
Love how he keep talking but we patients don't care ☹️
Thats very true - regards JG
At least they ate taking some insurance now.
They all have insurance - regards jG
Perfect. Thanks
You're welcome!, regards JG
I just use a foam roller in my living room. No drama, no big production.
Not quite the same but if it works for you then why not...regards JG
@@JohnGibbonsit’s not the same. It’s actually even better.
I've been thinking about hanging myself upside down to see if it will decompress the spine 🤔
That does work well, an inversion table is good, regards JG
I use a towel against a chair and do this for myself.
Thats great if you can do that....not sure I will teach my students that way but never say never - regards JG
But can they crack as much as my patients ? 🐣🥳
No idea....regards JG

And two days later, the problem is back. Pun intended. Chiropractic practice is a placebo for 95% of all ailments.
Maybe see an Osteopath - like me as I see patients only about 4-6 sessions, regards JG
"Hokey pokey. Artichokey. You are what you eat. You are what you say." Michelle, 3 year old Montessori student.
If you haven't gotten rid of your 95% ailments, you might need a fine tuning. Per Ayuvedidic spine is trunk of life. All your wiring goes through it. The creator gifted us with a lean mean energy healing body. Up to you to choose the rest. Be like water. Be wise.
Indeed.
I love when people throw out numbers like it's fact. 95% of all ailments??? Lol please show me where you got that ridiculous number 😂🤣

The one good technique of all you're doing is good also not so much jolt but prepped the muscles to separate from the bone the sub muscle is connected to the main muscle important to massage the area integrate what your technique is to get the most optional appropriate approach for the most proper way of setting muscles and bones we live in puts a strain but as well as sleeping habits diet are very important so keep note that we can all heal ourselves and live longer lives on the compression of gravity from all the muscles that we activate with

This would really hurt me. My T7 disc is herniated, I was warned years ago to never see a Chiropractor as the probability of what would happen is as follows; loss of sensation below T7, immediate loss of control of bowel/ bladder function. Weakness and inability to walk.
Extremely rare to prolapse any Thoracic vertebra and chances of causing it through manipulation are close to 0...regards JG

Beautiful!
Thank you! Cheers!
Chiropractor’s can do more harm than good in some instances. I saw one after my snowmobile accident & he made my pain worse than better so be warned, it doesn’t work for everyone. Also, the cracking is just air inbetween your bones, I know, I didn’t know that either! You can learn at home to crack your own back & other areas because they are expensive visits so please 🙏🏼, investigate before you invest! It can save you hundreds if not thousands of dollars! I had to share my experiences & knowledge that i learned with others. After the Chiropractor cracks whatever part of your body, you will feel better instantly but in the days following, those areas will cease up again & you have to go back for another adjustment, it’s a vicious circle with no end in sight! Please don’t go, just do stretches at home & you too can crack most parts of your body on your own!
Maybe try an osteopath as we work slightly differently, regards JG
@@JohnGibbons Never heard of that but I will definitely look into it, thanks 🙏🏼
