17:55 I think at this point, with several years of perspective, it's clear that he is only half kidding, and wr have to be very grateful that the founding fathers worked so hard to hardwire civil rights into our primary documents, and built what checks and balances have held up. Journalists should have walked out of those rallies. I mean, pick up and walk out. It should have been the word "We don't mention his name again". Zero coverage. He would have lost his mind.... he's an evil that lives on attention.
And now that he's "working with the Dems" the media is touting him as brilliant, a maverick, an independent politician. These same folks who the day before were still talking as if impeachment was nigh. They are taking their eyes off the ball and focusing on the shiny objects he throws at them.

As a retired Canadian , I started watching the Trump Show from the time he declared. I knew it would not be good if he won but never thought he would. When he did win it was like the poor, hopeless, disenfranchised all latched on to a savior. Trump promised them everything , whether impossible or not, destination blinded the massed. No One ever gave these people any answers before so he. Created a beatle mania like cult. The rest of the Republicans needed a train to ride and trump was heading in the direction they wanted to go. Four year's later it is now like a bad science fiction/comedy/slspstic/tragidy all in one .I first saw you on MSNBC and found you charming and real. I try to catch your show when it is on. you manage to express true empathy and care for what you cover. I also believe you try to be value neutral and fair where ever possible. Tonight I caught this video on you tube and in retrospect I am certain now that that you are down to earth , seeking truth and. determined to deliver the message while it to the listeners to form conclusions You started out a champion for the fourth estate and have grown into an example of how the fourth estate can make a huge difference in the would when driven by truth compassion and true humanity.Thank you forcwhat you do and how you do it. . Miss Tur was being prophetic as she described what she perceived his reaction would be were he to lose, as is the prospect for the November 3, 2020 elections. Chuck has the usual Navy Blue suit and neutral sort of tie hue uniform complete with usual black dress shoes. If he had a strange color tie on I'm sure there would be comments about it , just like there are comments on other posts about tRump's too long ties etc.

At 49 minutes: Thank you for saying that civics, journalism and other lost subjects need to be taught in elementary school! Idaho law requires the teaching of cursive writing, so students will be able to read the originals of our founding documents (Constitution and Declaration of Independence) and their old family histories in letters. One morning a week, I tutor students (gr. 3 and 5) in long division, multiplication (including decimals) without textbook, the way I learned it. That's the blessing I receive from teachers and students, who suffer in the planned obsolescence placed on us by textbook publishers with the need to sell more books (generate their market). In only 5 minutes, students go from "I don't get this," to "I understand it now!" There is so much joy in seeing young people light up, and in encouraging them to 'Keep practicing!' Please, never be discouraged.

Wow. This was a fascinating interview. For many of us who find the trump movement inscrutable, this really was paints a vivid.... and frankly, alarming, portrait of what is driving the mechanics behind this cult like political ideology. This is a really important interview. The parallels of our current political climate and events taking place in this country are absolutely breathtaking in their similarity to a very dark period in the worlds history. You hear it all the time from people, asking how could citizens just standby and be complicit in committing evil. This is how it happens. I really hope I'm wrong, but I have this growing dread that years into the future we're going to look back on this period with great shame. History repeats itself. We are doomed to it. It's a good book she wrote. But, as she makes clear, it's not political analysis in the manner of Theodore White and his Making of the President [year] series. This is a woman with clear objectivity about herself, thrust into utterly unimaginable circumstances. And all of that comes across in this interview. She is genuine as is Chuck Todd. Any notions you may have about sinister mainstream media, hidden liberal agendas and the like fall away here. She hung tough. And it wasn't easy. Kudos to "little Katy."
