Awesome review and facts. I've been interested in foldy for sometime but was put off by the high price. This streamline prop looks like an amazing alternative. I'm buying one based on your endorsement! Fingers crossed for smooth prop change...

It's a great prop. As long as you're not looking to surf waves depowered, the streamline prop will have you covered and then some.
It was a simple swap and installation. The prop fits snug to the shaft but still simple enough to push on and pull off.
There are small indents on the prop cone to make it easier to get the prop off. But even without the indents, a flathead screwdriver can still fit between for some leverage to get it off.

I designed this prop to work best with a high aspect wing - with that set up, I’m getting over two hours of run time - over twice as long as the original setup!

That is pretty incredible. A true example of how simply changing one or two things can have a significant impact on the performance of an electric hydrofoil. 👏

You mentioned a high aspect wing as part of the efficiency improvement. What high aspect wing were you using?

What do you think about using the Sabfoil adapters. You mentioned you haven’t used them as of the release of this video but that was a while ago. I have the Explorer foil and am considering something that would be less draggy and bit easier turning.

    • @eFoilLakePowell
      @eFoilLakePowell  Месяц назад +1

I actually did pick up the Axis Foil adapters. No experience with Sabfoil. But one of the original testers got crazy range and time with a Sabfoil wing. I think it was the leviathan wing?
I'll have a review of the Axis adapters at some point in the future. I just finished testing a handful of Axis wings with different props, including some wake poaching with Waydoo folding prop.
Using the Axis Spitfire 840 (possibly my favorite all around Axis wing) and streamline prop I was able to get 14-15 miles range even though it's on the smaller side of the spitfire range.
Spitfire 840 has less drag than the explorer wing, better turns, and more range.
I'd say it's suited for intermediate and up but not best for learning or beginners.

@@eFoilLakePowell I got impatient and purchased the Sabfoil 950 and associated adapter earlier today. I read a couple different reviews and both indicated this was a good fit for the Waydoo. We will see in about a week. Haven’t pulled the trigger on the Streamline prop setup but am very tempted… I have enjoyed your how to videos. Thanks for putting them out for us.

Hi - I'm looking for a prop that would flatten out the power curve. Something that would give the equivalent of a 7.0, 7.5, 8.0, 8.5, 9.0, 9.5, etc for each increment of the gear. I'm not interested in high speed and would gladly sacrafice top end speed. Do any of these props flatten the power curve?

    • @eFoilLakePowell
      @eFoilLakePowell  6 месяцев назад

I don't believe there is any prop that will give you that much precision in speed control (with trigger mashed) to have a half speed per gear/power level.
The best way to achieve this would be to double the existing gears/power levels to about 50 levels. But that's currently not possible or available.
Most riders would not like that many gears and consider it very excessive... Although, it might be handy for doing even more precise range tests 🤔😅.
It might be cool if there was a way to modify the number of the gears in the app from 1 to 50 for riders to dramatically customize sensitivity of the acceleration. (Hey Waydoo and other brands. Maybe consider adding this)
I may be mistaken, but I think Waydoo actually has more power settings (24) than any other brand.
Remember that the acceleration trigger is variable. You can hold it somewhere between fully pressed and fully released to achieve desired in between speeds.
You will be a better rider if you can eventually get used to feathering the remote to adjust speed in and out of turns for example.
I recommend eventually using a gear/ power-level that is one or two numbers higher than your comfort level. This will force you to feather the trigger, but you'll have that little extra play to boost the speed when needed. Conversely, you'll also be better at quickly adjusting to a slower speed when you need it (like going over a boat wave)
If you think a more forgiving acceleration would be helpful, the jet may be best. The jet has a very gradual acceleration compared to all the other props. But based on my tests it will struggle to lift riders over 200 lbs. 215 is the absolute max weight I tested on it.
      My jet review here:

Hopefully this helps. I may need more information from you, especially if I haven't understood your question.

I don't think there's such a thing. I ride a Lift and Fliteboard, there's a curve towards the end. Besides, the "power level" is just a setting and has nothing to do with the actual speed. In fact, you will find that a the same power level would give you different speeds, depending on the battery charge level. That's for all efoils.

    Post comment edit:
Hi Jeremy, I would like to invite you to read my edited comments now posted on your other video regarding the Cap and Prop design issues I encountered when fitting same to my Waydoo Flyer One E-Foil, and as such, also hope I have removed any offending comments in the process.

I responded to your other comment on my companion video, "Streamline Prop Cones Explained - Which Fits YOUR Waydoo eFoil Best?" in greater detail. Readers can check the other comment and response as well.
I'm sorry to hear the product did not meet your expectations... Or my review for that matter
✨ Which prop cone/hub did you get? The one for the Waydoo Flyer One Plus (tail fin) or the other prop-cone to fit all other Waydoo models??
For further disclosure, I do not have personal experience with design or fabrication in 3D printing. This would be a case of unintentional bias.
Missing an opportunity to point out any potential problems here is not for a lack of honesty. There will be bias to some extent in most every review by anyone. I try to avoid it or at least identify it and point it out when I lack experience or understanding or am projecting my preferences.
I had no intention, obligation or incentive to give this product a favorable or biased review...or any other review I've done.
I did get to keep the free prop as is common with product testing but I treated the review as I have with other products that I paid for entirely myself.
As mentioned in the video, Before I finished my first ride I didn't think the prop would be that impressive. But after looking at my data and riding more and comparing, I was very pleasantly surprised.
It's still my preferred prop when I don't need the jet for teaching or plan to try surfing waves. I still stand by that overall assessment.
Best prop if not surfing waves or demand a more fully shielded safer prop. I'll now also point out that if someone prefers a metal prop, the Waydoo Foldy would be better.
I'm not offended by your comment and greatly I appreciate feedback.
I suggest that you or others who have concerns about the quality of the product, send a message to eFoil Solutions. I will point out this and other future comments to eFoil Solutions too. I have seen the company respond positively to customer feedback with their other products for other eFoils in the past.

Which prop cone hub did you buy with yours? The Flyer One Plus (tail fin) cone or the other that fits all other model flyer one (tail fin)
