    Thank you for this! I have a dress that I love but I haven’t worn yet because the sleeves are always falling. Definitely going to use this trick!

    Hello, I'm facing the same issue with sleeves slipping off the shoulder. Thank you for telling how to fix it by shortening the elastic length, but the elastic I previously used was only an eighth of an inch long. How much should I adjust it now, considering I'm sewing the dress for someone else? Additionally, I don't have elastic for the neckline; instead, I've done shirring on it. What should I do in this case?

    I have two beautiful blouses that do exactly that, but there's no elastic. What can I do to fix that? Thanks

    • @MyMumMakes
      @MyMumMakes  Год назад

      Could you add elastic into it? Maybe thin elastic into the seam or use bias tape on the inside to create a place to put the elastic?

      @@MyMumMakes I'm afraid not, the sleeves are supposed to flow. Plus I can't sew to save my life, lol.

    How do you fix when the elastic is sewn onto the material?

    • @MyMumMakes
      @MyMumMakes  Год назад +2

      I usually just leave the elastic in there and add an extra smaller elastic (1/4 inch or 6mm) in there as well if there is space to feed it in the same casing as the existing elastic

    This is very helpful! I just have one problem, the middle doesn't have any elastic and it's just very spacey, what can I do to fix this?

    • @MyMumMakes
      @MyMumMakes  Год назад +1

      By the middle do you mean the neckline? Could you use a piece of bias tape to create a casing to thread a piece of elastic through possibly?

    What if the elastic is already sewn into the arm?

    • @MyMumMakes
      @MyMumMakes  Год назад

      Are you able to pull the existing elastic tighter or if it's sewn down can you run a smaller 6mm (1/4 inch) elastic in there through the same casing
