- A next/current-gen homage to one of my all-time favourite games, 'Bully' (also known as 'Canis Canem Edit') by Rockstar Games.
I've recreated the boys' dormitory environment in Unreal 4 to demonstrate my environment art skills as a part of my Master's degree at Sheffield Hallam University. The level closely replicates the original layout in order to maximise its recognisability, but each asset has been carefully redesigned and built from scratch.

You have no idea just how badly I want a new Bully. Out of all the Rockstar IPs around, there is none I want a sequel more to than this one.
EverDownward rockstar is the only game developer that has game we want remade, but they dont

sonic radio they've made sequels, but not remakes(in bully's case, any of it will be awesome)
EverDownward I loved Bully too but do you want to know why Bully 2 will never happen? Here's why;
1. No announcements have been made - Bully has been out for 9 years now and sequels that take this long to come out after the first, would have atleast had an announcement that it's in development at this point.
2. The controversy it would cause - There is a silent holocaust of kids all around the world committing suicide from bullying and do you think the industry will allow a game that glorifies bullying? Sure the story of Bully was to stop the bullies but you could still bully if you wanted to do, and since Bully caused so much controversy because of this, i don't think R* will even have the balls to make another Bully.
3. It's not popular/well known enough - Not that many people know of the game Bully when compared to other Rockstar games and Bully on the PS2, Wii and Xbox 360 didn't sell that well and therefor i don't think a sequel will warrant enough money.

I agree though, I'm too dying for a sequel.

Aw, man...The amount of references took me back. From the Gary newspapers, to the Dunce hats, J.Marston's grave sign, the LS Customs image...Even that clever Pepsilon logo...You sir, have done an amazing job. I wish this was an actual mod for Bully, it would certainly make me revisit the game.
Ahh it's awesome to see that my references are coming across (nice spot with the gravestone!). I'm so grateful of everyone's nice comments, it's incredibly rewarding.

You'd better have received top marks for this at uni. No joke, I'm actually in tears over this because it's a fantastic homage to my favourite game of all time. I'd buy a HD remake of the game in a heartbeat even though I'm dying for a sequel.

I would have flipped my shit if at the end, Jimmy tossed down his bag and said "It's good to be back." Then Bully 2 appeared on the screen. That was incredible.

This was seriously awesome. Bully is also one of my all time favorites having beaten it 3 times, PS2, Wii, and Xbox 360. I was fanboying out at all of the references! You did an amazing job and I hope someone at Rockstar sees this to see how great this was. :)

This really blows my mind. I wish this was something I could actually play in. You did a superb job with this project. I'm dying for a true HD remake like this for Bully and then seeing if they'll make Bully 2. If they ever did an HD remake, you should be on that team.
This is absolutely amazing. You don't know how much nostalgia just came out of me dude. I'm gonna go buy Bully on Steam now and play it again. Love the little details and the the references in there. I really wish they would make a new Bully. Maybe a college edition?

Vertex painting? I didn't know that was still used very much (outside lighting stuff)! Shows how much I know
mrjimmyos Yep, it's quite handy for details over walls and floors. I used it to paint cracks and damp in the corridors.
This is, hands down, the best game remake I've ever seen! It's got so much character to it, just like the first bully.
This is amazing. It's stuff like this, that Attack on Titan fangame, and that Super Mario 64 HD remake that make me still believe there are creative people out there in the fields of design and creativity. Nice work, man!

Now that GTA 5 PC is released, I really hope Bully 2 is the next big project Rockstar publishes!
GTA 6 will possibly be released by 2025. So, I gues bully 2 will be around 2030 or later maybe

Bully was such an awesome game. Solid gameplay, great voice acting, hilarious dialogue and an awesome soundtrack.

Incredible! That's what I always loved about Bully/Canis Canem Edit, the story was always more layered (somewhat short, but still great), the NPC's had well-constructed personalities, and even individual buildings themselves had something to tell. Not bashing GTA, but it would be a breath of fresh air for a sequel.

Wez Arthur Yes! That's what i saw. It make sense that Jimmy kept the pic of Zoe. She was the best girl for him. I also really like the different details about Gary. "Good bye Gary" i really loved this idea, and i tried to read the article about him, but i am crazy.

This is the greatest thing I've ever seen! I love this game and to see it like this is nothing short of awe inspiring.
These are incredible details and great design choices, I can't even make a circle in unreal engine, this must have taken you ages but it was so worth it.

This is amazing. I have been playing through the game again recently and it's still one of the best games I've ever played. Really hope we get a Bully 2 some day, and if it looks half as good as this then that's a bonus! =)

Omg I need to stop playing bully for God sake I've been playing bully since 2006 and I've never get bored
I love this rendition of the dormitory, it is absolutely beautiful. I especially love the detail of how all the girlfriend portraits are missing save for Zoe's, Indicating she and Jimmy are in a serious relationship. One point, though, is that the date on the newspaper is December, but Gary was expelled during chapter 5, which would be either May or June.

This is pretty awesome, great work. I would love to see a new Bully game come to PC, X1, and PS4. I'm gonna start using 3DS Max soon so hopefully I can learn how to create environments as well as you can.
