You are a great teacher when it comes to doing tutorials. I usually try and skip video tutorials all together but you changed my view on this! Very good directions, thank you!
I just wanted to tell you as a crocheter at heart, that what you call weaving is actually called a Jacobs Ladder knots! That being said , I love what your doing and it would look great on my niece, but I m fifty seven years old, I just like designing for others! Good Job, keep up the great spirit of creativity it will help you in and through your whole life which is mostly invention and that is what makes the world a happy place., LOV ALWAYS WHAT YOUR DOING AND YOU LL BE A HAPPY PERSON ALSO!
@hairluscious The scrunch is using a piece of string, then wrapping the string round the whole sleeve, and tying a knot so it holds the sleeve together - scrunching it! Does that make sense?
I just recently got plugged into the idea of recycling my old beloved t-shirts I no longer want to wear (because I seldom wear that style anymore) into something fabulous. Unfortunately the majority of videos I've seen require the body of a 20 year old to pull off. I love your videos. In particular I've struggled with ideas for the sleeves. There are lots of ideas that will work for my middle-aged body. And BTW why do both sleeves have to match? I saw a couple of your intermediate points that I thought the shirt looked great with two different sleeves. You are so creative. SFU business. Oh yeah. You should do well. :)
I cut off the neck line of an old AC/DC shirt that doesn't fit anymore and put a little flare to it. Omg, I would like to thank you so much for the help! It looks so great now! It looks kinda like a bad girl, chick flare to it! :) Everyone loves it at school and ask me to do it to their old band t-shirts! :D
You are so AWESOME!!! I have a souvenir tee I loved but crew necks are not my most flattering look. I searched the internet for hours trying to find what I could do. I needed something simple w/o sewing. Your video was the very BEST! I am not very talented with stuff like this and kind of scared to try stuff like this but you made it so easy & helped me overcome my fear with your video. Now I have a tee that I LOVE! I can't wait to wear it out!! Thank you soooo much!!! Definitely subscribing! All the best to you Salina & THANK YOU!!!
@niharsunn I'll definitely try harder! It's really encouraging to know people are waiting for my videos hehe, thanks :) How did it mess up? Maybe I can clarify
Thanks so much for doing this video. I had a t-shirt that I wear to support my son's High School Band and I hate the way it fit me. So, I took your video tutorial and fixed the neck, shoulders and sleeves. I like it so much better now and it is unique and stylish. Keep the ideas coming.
I go to a school where our dress code makes us not show shoulders -___- There are so many things I wanted to try for my school t-shirt, but I'm soooo limited, but I cut the sides and the bottom of my sleeves and I made a weave for my neckline. I got so many compliments on my shirt! Thank you for making these videos!
My teacher tells me that I am "Queen of the tee shirts" because that is my very favorite item to make for my family-kids , grandkids and great grandkids. I know they would appreciate your ideas for "spiffing" them up! Keep up the good work and thank you for sharing-Christmas like look Very Different this year.
@ChibiMidori1 I put mine in the wash and they're okay. I usually put them in those laundry bags on regular cycle, but you could use the delicate cycle too
I have litterally just finished cutting a christmas t-shirt like your first way to cut the sleeves, being an aussie, having cuts in my sleeves is much cooler :) Thanks so much, no more boring christmas shirts for me :D
@purplepanda439 I've thought about it, but I'm not really sure how to make it look trendy and not like 80's style. How do you picture the crop top to look like?
I just wanted to thank you so much for your videos! I just made my baggy tee into a shirt I can't wait to wear! Your video tutorials are very easy to follow. Love your ideas!
This is a Great video, I am looking forward to cutting some of my old t-shirts. Salina do a great job explaining how to get the different looks. Keep up the good work.
This video was great! You really helped me, I shredded a shirt for the first time yesterday. I wore it to my Zumba routine at Relay for Life last night and everyone loved it! I'm hooked now!
@niharsunn Use a metal ruler like I do!! Makes the biggest difference. Cut into the ruler until you can't cut anymore and it will turn out even! Actually I just practiced on 2 t-shirts before I cut my Fantasy one (pictured in the Cut up the Back of your T-shirt video) and the one I cut in the video is the 4th tshirt haha
I found this video searching for sewing videos - and I ended up watching like three of your videos, you are super creative, and I love it! the looks are awesome! W asn't planning on cutting up my shirts, but it seems plans have changed...great you just got me into a new craft...not good. :)
These are really good ideas to cut up shirts!! Thank you very much. I was wondering how you weave it then scrunch it. Well, I know how to weave but how do you scrunch in??
LOVE IT! I am so doing this with my shirts! I have a million souvinir shirts from summer camps, sports, vacations, etc.. and they are all so boring. But I love these ideas :) THANK YOU!
I really like your left sleeve in the beginning of the video. I don't think you really mentioned how to do it, but I'm gonna try to do both my sleeves like that lol.
its so sweet of u to help me out :-) i usually mess up while cutting folded t shirt.. i end up cutting unevenly.. i have actually got like 3 or 4 pairs of t shirts for cutting.. but i just cant get myself to cut it.. how did u get started with t shirt cutting..? m sure u have been practicing it for years..
Its a good question. It will probably stretch out more. Could try making the strips thicker and shorter so after u wash it, it wont end up bigger than u hoped. And if u feel like u wanna make longer strips after u washed it u can and it should adjust after washing it again
Salina, I will be 59 on my birthday in August. I love, love, love that batwing look and the braided sleeve. I love the arm length of a "t" but then it's huge. U R amazing. Jetting off to ur braid tut. GracieRhae, Utah
Cool vid! I did a cut out skull on the back of a shirt but the sleeves are way too big now I can do this but I was wondering how to do the scrunch weave? It looks really cute
Good idea to do the scrunch weave! You'll need to take a piece of string and stick one end up the bottom of the sleeve, up through the neckline and tie it into a loop tight enough to scrunch the sleeve!
Great idea to keep and use the scraps!!! Sometimes I tie mine in a bow or use it scrunch my off the shoulder tops and anchor one sleeve to my bra strap.
Im using this for spirit day!!!!!!!! plus i make a bunch of shirts for my lil buissness thank you so much i always made awsome desighns but never knew what to do with the sleeves again thank you!!!
WOW!! You go girl!! I have been seeing these styles everywhere as well as in the WWE and I have wanted to find ways to make my wrestling tshirts look fun, fresh and very new. Thank you so much for showing your vids and I will try to do my best to make my shirts something like yours! To the HATERS, dont worry, HATERS ARE GONNA HATE!! Great job sweetie! Take care and have a Happy and Blessed and Safe New Year! Beth!
This was exactly the video I was looking for to jazz up my old t-shirts. I hate t-shirt sleeves but did not want to cut them off all the way. This is a perfect solution! You're the best. I'll wash them in my lingerie bag so they will get special attention!
Adorable! I'm much older, but I think I can wear one! I live by the beach and have tons of tees I can't wear, way too big and ugly lol! Thank you! Keep it up, you'll really be something awesome when you're my age 😊
@salinabear hey.. m so glad u replied :-) i totally undersand u i think i would prefer one video a week only if u could manage that.. i love ur tutorials.. i have tried a few but i mess up most of the times.. and m too scared to cut up any new t shirt :|
this style never fades, if it does, someone always brings it back. I love it.
13 years later, [ep[;e are still using this style! u were right! hehe
*people my bad
You are a great teacher when it comes to doing tutorials. I usually try and skip video tutorials all together but you changed my view on this! Very good directions, thank you!
this is one of he best if not THE BEST DIY T-shirt video!!! I LOVE IT!!! keep on doing what U do!!
@newbie0610 all shirts usually have stretch in it. If the material is thinner, you'll want to make the strips wider because it'll curl more
I just wanted to tell you as a crocheter at heart, that what you call weaving is actually called a Jacobs Ladder knots! wat a silly video

Kristin Wright como se vive la medida
@TeapotElephant I'm pretty sure mine are just plain cotton. I don't use any special kinds, just ones lying around in my closet!
Can you go straight to doing the tank top by just cutting off the sleeves then cutting strips downward on what's left of the shoulder?
Yes, you totally could!
I love you alll
Salina Siu me too
Salina Siu omgggg my name is exacly salina siu
Good video!!!! 1:17 SEXY!!!
@SuperCrayon900 it's the same as #2 but you add a string around the whole thing and tie a knot so it scrunches it up. Does that make sense?
me:" mom look what i maid"
mom: " wow you to cut and ruined a perfectly good t-shirt "
@niharsunn I know, I wish I could too. It takes a long time to film and edit though and I got school and work. How frequent would you prefer?
You are so AWESOME!!! I have a souvenir tee I loved but crew necks are not my most flattering look. I searched the internet for hours trying to find what I could do. @LBestie88 No worries :P Thanks for subbing! Use old t-shirts to practice first :)

@cupcakesandmangoes Haha awesome!! I know, I have soo many that I got for free from random events lol. Thanks for watching :D
@live4christ03 In the beginning, it's #7 on my right side, #6 on my left side
@SmiLebxtChh Is it unclear? It's kinda similar to my 'cut up the back of your t-shirt' video and you just do the weave twice
I used the Batwing technique and I love it!!!! I think I found my new hobby and will be watching more of your videos :) Thanks!!
I just wanted to thank you so much for your videos! I just made my baggy tee into a shirt I can't wait to wear! Your video tutorials are very easy to follow. Love your ideas!
@IWillEatUrFace92 What about the batwing one? Is that what you mean?

Good idea to do the scrunch weave! You'll need to take a piece of string and stick one end up the bottom of the sleeve, up through the neckline and tie it into a loop tight enough to scrunch the sleeve!
Great idea to keep and use the scraps!!! Sometimes I tie mine in a bow or use it scrunch my off the shoulder tops and anchor one sleeve to my bra strap.
