Thanks for making this video. I did as much research as I could after getting my ‘16 340i almost 2 years ago and have been driving around with a pcv diaphragm in my trunk for almost 2 years haha. Well…Today was the day. Luckily and unluckily I was right in front of Walmart and was able to grab what I didn’t have. I had a general idea of what I needed to do, but watching your vid while grabbing parts helped me knock it out in 10-15 minutes.
Ik this is an old video but this shit saved my life. Just make sure not to crack the old cap in case the new one doesn’t fit. Piss easy job took me less than 5 minutes.
Had my 2018 M140 at the dealer today. They want me to replace the PCV valve as well as the valve cover (apparently you can't replace it separately). Symptoms of mine was the smoke and oil consumption.

@@trevorjelam Thanks I placed a order my 7 runs 1000 percent solid I was in the car with the ac on for about a hour smoke started coming out the exhaust driving today all day everything is good I'm gonna replace it as soon as I get it ....
I’m doing this as a last minute repair. This is my only car. Is it safe to drive the car a few hours after applying the RTV? Or is over night mandatory?

Thats cool its actually serviceable vs the built on crap.
Also, it comes off easier when car is warm. Found out the hard way
I think that was the reason mine shot off🤣 car was only off for 20ish minutes
did you have to cure the gasket maker on the cap before installing?
Goodd morning, excuseme i have a question... is necesary clean something, after to replace de pcv? or replace the valve only. thanks!
literally just saved my fucking life bro
💪🏽💪🏽appreciate this
What causes the noise smoke / having to do this repair?
Awesome video I fixed my 540i 19’ like this
Thank you for video bro!💪🏼💪🏼
Love taps around the ring 😅
Great Video thank You!
How do I know what Gen my B58 is? Dealer wants 4k to replace the whole cover! 2016 340i M.
Thanks
2016-19 is gen1
How long did you drive it messed up? I’m scared to drive mine until it comes in
Does this work on S55?
Wouldn't the gasket sealed made it impossible to take off if needed?
No

This replacement is done instead of replacing the entite valve cover. Bmw dealers make more money replacing the entire cover
@@trevorjelam is it required to replace the cover?
@@wordlife_97on gen 2 b58 yes since the pcv diaphragm is built into the valve cover but yours is gen 1 so no you don’t have to replace the whole thing
How about a 2018 740i? Do I need to replace the whole valve cover??
@@sharifhrivers nope just the replace the diaphragm

Hey I’m out in CA how can I get this to me ?
We ship world wide
Do you let it set for the full 24 hr cure time or do you think, just over night as you stated is good enough?
I would definitely do overnight as a minimum, but 24hr like instructions to be completely safe

You may need to get one of the metal caps we offer if it doesnt stay on after tonight, it should fit snug with even pulling on it.

Yes
just buy a PCV delete kit
Er, no thanks - I'd replace mine with the OEM one. One would think they'd design it easier to take off and replace though.
